It's OK. I thought you probably were.

There was a BAD time in server history though when a now former Dakka member turned out to be a literal Nazi who'd turned 'his' bits of the world into literal Nazi gak. Thankfully the community was as disgusted as one might hope and he was kicked out.

I am uneasy enough about the usual practice of locking villagers in tiny rooms so as to trade with them more easily, so I definitely don't wanna go there with the prison camp thing. :(

Villagers are just the worst, never going where you want them. I did immediately block off two of them inside some wood blocks at the spawn village to keep them safe. Maybe my project today will be to build a villager breeder with them. I am not looking forward to getting villagers to my base for my own trading hall at some point.

I finished the villager breeder. It's working now. But the little buggers got loose while I was trying to get them in there. Finally got them in there, though. I am not looking forward to repeating this process at my base when I build a trading hall.

I'm half tempted to start my own iron golem farm...thought about it through many patches, but i haven't because it feels like cheating.

I mean, I know exploitation of game mechanics is hardly cheating, but stuff like exp farms, villager farms, mob farming for specific items; they require very deep exploitation of game mechanics.

I find more satisfaction in playing normally and obtaining my stuff that way. But I have no trouble with others building farming contraptions for stuff. To each their own.

Nether Hub is unfinished but it's safe. Haven't seen a pig/zompig/boar in an hour.

Next job is decorating the floor. After that, I'll hang some lights so it's a bit cheerier.

I suppose I probably ought to jump on and do some stuff. I'm not certain I care too much about carrying over anything other than what's in my inventory. I'll grab my emeralds and diamonds and stuff I guess. Maybe some iron.

I'm... ambivalent about the Mesa getting transferred. On the one hand, I still like it, I'm proud of it, it's kinda close to being 'finished' in a way.

On the other hand, the new version means I can build in a different way- a more Dwarf way. The Mesa was created in a sort of piecemeal method, without an overarching design, and had to fit into the world height limitations both above and below ground. But now...

Also, I thought we were going to try and build a Hive City at spawn?

If you want, you could just, like, put the Mesa SOMEWHERE and not actually tell me/anyone about it if you wanted. Have it be something someone could discover while exploring.

I took a stab at starting the east tunnel in the nether. Same basic design as the west tunnel, but I'm using smooth stone instead of iron blocks because I don't think I'll have enough iron. Also decided to use red nether brick slabs for the floor and sea lanterns for light to make it look a little different. I didn't go very far, so y'all can easily change it if you like.

Hey, come west, and we can be neighbour dwarfs, and work together on some projects, and work solo on others. I'm mostly around the village that I've put a green ellipse around on the map. One of us could go west from there and the other, er, south I think it is? There's a bunch of amazing chasms and caves in the area. My daughter and I have already started lighting them up but they're ripe for converting into huge dwarf cities and smelteries and fastnesses and such. Though we should go look for some mountains too.

I wound up going up near Gitkikka's new tower- there's a big icy mountain with some neat cave mouths and chasms on it that I've got some plans for.

Of course, we're going to be creating underground highway tunnels as well, so we'll connect up with each other.

Yeah, just a couple of farms at the moment. Got a spider farm near spawn, thanks to a spider spawner that was right there. The village across the river has a villager breeder set up in it. SirRalphy is working on an iron farm. Chicken farm, crop farm, enchanting room, and a few other things around.

EDIT: And I have completed the eastern tunnel in the nether. I built out to around 290 blocks. I have a small branch tunnel from it at 230 blocks leading to my base's nether portal. So, you will all be happy to know I've now removed that eyesore of a ladder that's smack in the middle of the nether hub that led to my old tunnel.

Honestly, the mesa biome is kinda great if we're doing that sort of thing. We'll just need a LOT of black, grey, and light grey dye.

Lots of iron as well. Anyone have a good design for an iron farm that doesn't need to be 'alone'? I'm not really great with those sorts of farms.

Edit. Okay, I've finally staked my claim to a quaint desert town and the desert temple it's right next to. I've put a wall around the town to keep out Pillagers but not the temple since there's nobody inside (yet).

As soon as I can get a beacon made, I'll put it inside the temple.

It's getting there. it didn't work where it was at, so i'm moving it. just need to place some beds and move the villagers, then we should be swimming in iron again and bone meal

Free Bees!
With my automated bee farm complete, I have a bunch of extra beehives full of bees that I don't need anymore. I've left them in a chest by the ender chest at spawn for anyone who wants one. Each hive should have 2-3 bees in it, enough to start breeding your own. So, "bee" a bee farmer today!

I also seem to have volunteered to build a gold farm. I've been watching tutorial videos for it, looks like it has to be built in a nether wastes biome. There's one just west of the Nether hub, so that's not a problem. Needs lots of magma blocks though. I mined about 45 stacks of them yesterday, but apparently I'll need more. All the videos demonstrate building the thing above the nether roof, but I understand Darkinnit is against that, so I'll do my best to build it in a good spot within the Nether. It'll be a bit before I get around to it. Still need to decide which version I want to go with, and need more magma. Also, does anybody have any turtle eggs? Some of the versions use them, but I don't have any. There's at least one that doesn't use them.

Also, anybody know the seed for this world? I'd like to pop into a creative version to test out some build ideas on my island to see what fits. I suspect I may need a lot of quartz, lapis, and copper blocks...

Just so everybody knows, the Enderdragon is dead now. SirRalphy, 4oursword, and I killed it. They did most of the work, though, since my archery skills leave much to be desired. I'd like to think my snow golems helped, though.

The lights are hung, which means construction has finished in the Nether Hub. Stop by and check it out when you have a chance.

There's also Ralphy's piglin trading center, next to the West tunnel entrance, which has a good number of supplies already.

@Tannhauser i believe the West nether tunnel is yours -- apologies, I walked far out to the west in the overworld (3K blocks or so), and made a portal, assuming it'd show up miles from anywhere and I'd have to explore my way to a civilised bit of the nether, but no, it generated at the end of your tunnel. Feel free to break it, or move it, if you like!

You should probably move it off to one side of the tunnel, if only so the tunnel can be extended as needed. Moving it slightly like that shouldn't affect your portal in the overworld.

Edit: NM, it looks like Ralphy took care of it.

Are there any plans for the design of the north nether tunnel? I'm thinking about extending it up to Anvildude's and my areas, but I don't know if anyone has any specific design in mind. Right now, I just want to make a safe path and pretty it up later.

From a pragmatic standpoint, I'd say whoever is doing the work of building it gets to pick the design.

But something prettier than just a 1x2 tunnel made of dirt and netherrack would be nice.

Ralphy wanted a design that showed the biomes as much as possible. My design (South tunnel) is a combination of that and the old tunnel designs. We've all been putting soul sand under the floors so we can run faster with Soul Speed III boots that we get from the piglin trade farm.

Could be interesting to try and do a 'natural' look, but in an obsidian box for safety. Though I don't know how you'd keep spawns down in that case. Guess slab floor is still necessary.

since people are now exploring the end, can we have giles sell us Elytras at spawn please? name tags aren't really needed as almost every librarian sells them now.



every direction of tunnels always had their own designs, do what makes you feel happy as you run down the nether and doesn't let ghasts shoot at you
