Not a big fan of the spawn, honestly. They look more like mega-zombies than the writhing masses of chaos that we have now. Just a hair too humanoid for my taste. That being said, I suppose a spawn is a human twisted to the point of no return. I just don't feel like these guys are to the point of no return yet.

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias |

If the spawn have a sprue full of eyeballs, I can finally make the awesomely horrific hand guy. . I might use it in my crusading Bret army as a crossbearer for my Grail Reliquae unit as some form of artistic or political statement or something "deep" like that I guess. I just wanna use this guy in one of my armies.

Hey, they just provide the bits. How you assemble them is up to you. My spawn is composed entirely of pieces from old plastic chaos warriors and dark elves, and there's very little "humanoid" about him. He's basically a huge, whirling tower of arms and axe-blades, topped with a brainless maw.

I love the spawn. Spawn are supposed to be of literally infinite variety. The current WH ones are very good for a less-humanoid shape. These ones are also awesome.
And I love the sounds of that sprue. Thanks Jeff. That should make some wonderful bits for use on other Chaos models.

Ya know, I remeber when you weren't chaotic unless you had at least 3 eyes, some kind of grotsque extra limb, and your blood was at least boiling acid. Apparently all need these days to be chaos is some skulls and an arrow on your forhead.

Kaile, that's going in my signature. Chaos does seem to be getting bland, and certainly not getting the attention they deserve. But are you surprised? After all, they aren't "Space Marines"! If its not Space marines, then its not 40k! What is GW doing even spending time rewriting the CSM book. Shouldn't they be working on Codex : More Space Marines? Like Space Wolves or something?

Chaos termi lord: Good to see the low angle to work out haow the base fits together with the rock slabs. Been trying to figure it out from the sprue pics we got a few weeks ago and this suddenly makes sense. The options are a little bland. If I was going to do the sneak peak model it would have the double bladed chain thingy (may be a bolter, may not) or the LCs.
Khorne Lord: Looked good in the other pic seen but this angle is awful.
Raptor lord: Looked good unpainted.... now the head looks super mega fugly.
CSM: These are the same models aren't they? I thought the sprue that has been up is new...
Spawn... *drools* Mega cool
Codex Cover: needs 20% less flames, 10% more arrows, 30% more fur and a whole stack more skulls to = EVIL! They are always walking through fires...

They're the current models, recut onto 5-man sprues with extra gubbinz... a couple of new heads, enough weapons to equip everybody with bolters or everybody with BP/ CCW, etc...
