Thanks for responding — to make sure I understand, there will be no Nuka starter set without minis?

I was thinking about going ahead and getting the plastic figs as they come out before the starter box.

But if there is not other way to get the rules, card terrain, etc, then I will just wait.

I have to disagree, that will be a massive bonus in getting people to at least try it.

Anecdotal, of course, but despite my best efforts my local pals will only play GW games. Saying "well it's a bit like these two well loved GW systems, but with Fallout flavour and humour" will be a much easier sell. And selfishly, I want my mates to play this so I can play this!

Yes that's my thoughts on it as well.

Lots of people are afraid at first of taking off the GW stabilisers, if they haven't played a non-GW game before, so that's a really useful comparison to make.

My thoughts are that as much as I love WW, this type of game will be better for quick PUGs at a local club and may be a bit more accessible in that respect.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but a quick article here on the comparison between the two systems

Currently no. I'd like to be able to offer more than that, but its not my line any more, so don't want to set anything in stone that is no longer true.

Not sure if that helps or not :(

I asked on the discord and there should be a Rules PDF released later on in the year but that's all they're willing to talk about.

Some news from the recent stream; Super Mutants and (generic) Raiders are getting new plastic core sets that tie in with Factions:

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

Both of the above are getting a 'Gets You By' type ruleset for Factions in the relatively near future until they get a full release, as will Brotherhood of Steel and Survivors (who themselves are very likely to be getting their own plastics). Super Mutants are going to be able to take an additional Harm before getting removed from the table, whilst the Raiders use a lot of chems and the Power Armour models are immune to getting Fatigue from sources (such as suppression) other than their own actions (as well as some increases baked into their basic statline).

Mothman Cultists from FO76 are also going into Factions with what's getting what's being designated as a 'competitive' list, which are going to be essentially designed around one-off gameplay and won't have the Story Phase elements for ongoing campaign play. Basically a means of porting over factions that have models in Wasteland Warfare into Factions, perhaps with some weirder rules (the example given was the ability to summon an Mothman Cryptid) without them being fully fleshed out or necessarily getting a new plastic core box. It was suggested that those that were popular or it was felt gave a really enjoyable gameplay experience could be further developed into their own 'get you by' or even full lists down the liner. Some of the revealed resin cultists for reference:

Love the look of a lot of these models but the Cult Followers? Absolutely incredible.

Will have to pick up any BOS plastics that drop for this in the future, just to have.

Zetans weren't listed to be in Factions only Mothman Cult have been confirmed as one of the Competitive Forces. They could get one in the future but it wasn't on their confirmed list.

The stream had both FWW and Factions logos on everything but that was just because the stream was covering both games and not that everything shown would work in both games.

Can't say I have any interest in the 76 stuff, but the plastic raiders look good.

The plastic super mutants look like they have some interesting options, but is it just me or do the heads look a bit weird (or is this based on the 76 versions or something)?

As far as I'm aware Fallout 76 Super Mutants use the same meshes and textures as the ones in Fallout 4, albeit with one or two added armor/clothing options if I recall correctly. If there's anything off with the models' faces, maybe that's the sculpts or the particular paintjob?

I recall super mutants having a larger chin/jaw.

Anyone know if 24 x 36 play area going to be the set standard play area for this new Factions game or will it vary?

The new ruleset for this FO Factions game does interest me but BoS/enclave/institute are more my jam, it is good to see at least the BoS will get rules for it.

I'm pulled back in!

Great Game from the looks of it. I need to dust off my old box and get the RPG. I have some folks local that might really get into this.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

They did in earlier game engines (FO3/New Vegas and the portraits from 1&2); the FO4/76 version has a distinctly less prominent jawline and these sculpts look pretty much in line with that.

I'd have to imagine Enclave/Institute will get some attention in Factions down the line, even if it's only in the more limited format as per the Mothman cult. The more developed groups for now seem to be those who are getting a full plastic core set in the planned/announced schedule.

Apparently international logistical issues have meant Factions is getting delayed and will now be releasing in July as opposed to (checks notes) next week. Which does suck, though it's far from a Modiphius-specific issue and certainly not a problem of their making.
