Did you check the bases from Troublemaker Games’ Kickstarter? Some of them might fit your needs: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/troublemakergames/smallscale-plastic-terrain-kits-iv-stl-packs

yes I saw that, currently making my own bases (basically plain discs and discs with recessed holes, not that hard to do), may start adding bits and bobs. to them

the building stuff looks interesting, however I already have bought a range of building stuff, likely will be getting more though to add some flair to it all

8cm wide or so for 2 plate wide...so basically same as legions terrain. 4cm wide per section(legions terrain is 40cm)

Not sure price wise is that comparable or cheaper/more expensive.

Too new. We have one influencer with the kit so far that I know of. No comparison to Legions terrain yet but he says it's coming.

Seems like a fine looking kit, more functional looking than GW's (as in, looks useful to tiny people beyond being a steel box) maybe a little overengineered with the connectors resulting in them taking up a lot of sprue space, so you get fewer actual walls than I expected... I think it's a better deal than GW's singleton kit but worse than the huge bundle (that seems OOP already...) But I have no real sense of how much table either this or any other Epic scale terrain kit covers.

Fresh off the... video... press. A much better look at the sprues but nothing else.

Haha yeah good reason

More of curious because for me the pic's look...little? But maybe doesn't show full build? Or i'm not imagining it right seeing my comparison point is the big li terrain box i built that costs more.

But width more or less identical(4cm per square) and height seems comparable. Li has 3 separate height pieces so can vary but roughly comparable.

Will hide tanks fine by the looks of it. Titans need multilayer just as gw. Don't know how well those stack.

whats sort of needed here is something the model railway lot used to have.

ever seen "Linka"? think wall panels, floors, roofing etc, modular panels, combine as you want - came as rubber moulds you made plaster panels with

Hirst Arts do similar for 28mm with individual blocks, you can cast them in resin

its faster than 3d printing, a lot faster, with two part resin can cycle a mould in 20 - 30 minutes.

needs masters in a suitable scale

Certainly, plaster casting is a technology, I suppose. Not one I would pursue in 2024, mind...

does make for very cheap terrain though, and its remarkably easy to make rubble.

can use the same moulds with cast resin though which is a lot more robust, and removes the "what the hell do I do with this lot to dry them out?" problem plaster has

I’ll almost certainly end up with a mish-mash of terrain. I’ve got some of GW’s in my Magic Wooden Box O’Stuff, and of course a bunch of old Epic (plakky roof, cardboard walls) too.

My issue with linka is moulds not that cheap and to build anything interesting requires a lot of those. Gets kind of expensive to build 1 board terrain. Feels better for gaming club.

Also don't think they have smaller scale ones

Edit: whoops it was hirstarts i was thinking.

for sure with the Hirst Arts stuff, I've got a few, not enough to build a full dungeon though, just used for some warhammer terrain back when that was a thing, obviously no where near the right scale here.

that said making moulds with RTV silicone isn't that hard, just messy. good for wall panels, bad for buildings as who wants a load of identical buildings?

Checked hirstarts again and they have few molds marked as suitable for 1:285. Doesn't look that bad so fortress could work.

About 120 dollar for 3 molds you need though...

Does give various things though. Walls, pipes, various scatter, what looks like titan scale weapon...

Wonder if the moulds would work with resin, if that’s the plaster ones mentioned earlier

Most if not all of my Battletech stuff seems pretty compatible with this, as well as the DZC buildings and mats.

The Cendre STLs (Raiders, Revolt, etc.) are basically made for the scale already, so it works pretty well too.

This was a 120 x 180 board I prepared with mostly printed stuff:

Spoiler:

There's an old WFB hill I flocked not too long ago, some Battlefield in a Box badlands rock formations and woods, some plain old trees on MDF bases, felt templates to delimit woods, one Troublemaker Games building, Hextech hexless roads, printed Alpha Strike storage buildings, Cendre industrial buildings, some printed big rock formations, and Grimdark Terrain resin ruins.

This specific board was for an Alpha Strike game, but I expect it will work with not many issues for Epic:

Hirstarts says yes BUT it would wear down molds over time(where plaster doesn't).

they do, they work fine, you spray with the release agent first.

also note you can take good quality plaster masters and create you own, larger, moulds to work with whatever pour size you like, and then care less about damage - e.g. a mould of just the basic bricks and a couple of half bricks, or moulds of complete wall panels - instructions are on the Hirst Arts site

have been using stuff created here for Battletech just fine, and also woods, fields etc created to use with a range of 15mm games, again works fine. the Gale Force 9 rivers are good too

I'm just gonna drop these here...

Cybershadow Technocracy Heavy Recon Stalker- Jackal II

**Cybershadow Technocracy Jackal II -** The Jackal II represents a generational leap in Cybershadow walker design heretofore unseen in Novan space. Though bearing the name of its predecessor, the Jackal II is a completely new chassis and has been rebuilt by the Technocracy from the ground up around a newer, more advanced power system.

Although the Jackal II is considered a light recon stalker, it still towers above even super-heavy tanks and other war engines common to Novan space. Each Jackal has two primary weapon hardpoints in the arms capable of mounting a wide variety of weaponry, ensuring commanders have the tools to engage any threat they should encounter. Complementing its primary weaponry are two modular hardpoints above the powercore coolant housings. These offer additional utility and flexibility by adding supplemental comms, optics, sensors, and countermeasures to the already robust systems of the standard Jackal II.

Tactically, Cybershadow Jackals can be found ranging far ahead of heavier walker battle squadrons, providing vital intel and conducting probing attacks ahead of the main assault. They are extremely agile for their size and can cover ground at phenomenal speed when necessary. Although lightly armed in comparison to the heavier battleline walkers, a single Jackal still possesses enough firepower to easily decimate lesser enemy formations. Indeed, Jackals have even been known to form the spearhead of smaller assaults should field commanders be unable to acquire heavier assets.

5. Model painted by John Fielding.

Cybershadow Technocracy Heavy Recon Stalker – Vulture

**Cybershadow Technocracy Vulture -** The Vulture is a variant of the Jackal II recon chassis adapted to carry a larger ordnance piece than can usually be mounted on these “light” walkers. To accommodate the Vulture’s heavy dorsal weapon and weapon mount as well as its accompanying power systems, the engineering crew space within the torso has been replaced with a hardwired AI tasked with monitoring the Vulture’s power core and internal systems—oversight, usually provided by the onboard engineering drone on the Jackal II. To further offset the substantially increased weight of the dorsal cannon and systems but retain the speed necessary to achieve its fast-paced mission requirements, the Vulture also replaces the Jackal’s standard heavy weapons and arm mountings in favour of a pair of lighter defensive rotary cannon. Additionally, the notably lighter armour fitted to the lower legs of the Vulture is yet another visible example of the concessions to weight savings of the variant. In a long range, hull down fire support position, Vulture crews are able to mitigate the risk to their weaker legs through careful positioning.

The Vulture’s battlefield role is to provide integrated, long-ranged fire support to recon battle groups as well as serving in an overwatch/sniper capacity as required. Even within heavier Stalker cohorts, the Vulture is prized for its ability to quickly relocate, thereby opening opportunities for commanders to use the Vulture’s heavy dorsal weaponry for enfilading fire missions that would be impossible for a heavier chassis to fulfil.
