I've felt under the weather for the last 2 months but over the last 2-3 weeks, I've assembled 20 demonettes, 22 archers, 5 slick blades, a lord of pain, a wizard, a lord of arrogance, and sigvald. I've painted the lord of pain, based coated the lord of arrogance, 10 demonettes have been painted and just need a few touch ups and completed bases, the slick blades have a base coat and first set of highlights, and 11 of the archers are painted and just need to be based.

Still debating whether I go with Glutos of Belakor once these are completed.

Go with Glutos. It's a much more interesting models than Belakor.

Even after the Gorefist and Big Pigs, I cannot seem to break my piggie trek. So, this weekend, I started a Bonespliterz army with twenty Boarboyz!





All Slapchopped (which seems to work well on the Bonesplitterz), about 3 or 4 hours work in this piggie horde.

Been following the Orktober theme this month, and tried out some test units for the Kruleboyz. As with my other Orruks, all Slapchopped (and, frankly, unbelievably quick to do).

This is my first post in this thread so please be gentle! I have been searching for some time for an AoS faction and just couldn't pin one down, this is my third attempt. The theme is: goblin sky pirates. They are a kit bash/conversion of Kharadrons and some 3D printed goblins. Going for a bit of a World of Warcraft/steam punk theme. I haven't really looked at rules yet but assume they will just use the Kharadron army book.

These are just tester minis so any C&C very welcome!



These are some WIP - adding in a few retro diving-type helmets, to help with the theme. I'm going to add a lot of bombs/dynamite, spinning widgets and other bits and pieces.

No such things as too many pigs i have 50 and would get more if i knew they would remain in aos. So 4th ed tome maybe

I have thought about similar things - the Skybashas clan of the Ironjawz are another skyfaring force, but I am fundamentally too lazy to build Orruk flying ships from scratch

I will be very interested to see what you do for Goblin flying craft...

Thanks, no I've not got the time (or skill!) To start scratch-building ships from scratch. I'll probably just use the standard ones and modify them with steam-punky bits.

Lore-wise I'll be honest I haven't really given it much thought, and no idea if this concept makes any sense (I've tried reading the background and honestly I think my mind is just too lacking in imagination, or it's just I still haven't stumbled onto the right combination of edibles to help me understand it!) And I'll just be playing the one friend, rather than playing anyone else, so kind of just going with a fun idea!

Goblin skypirates been mentioned in official fluff so makes sense to me

What will usually happen is I will spend the next 2 years making this force, and then there will be an official goblin pirates faction that will look much better

Can I ask what are the ally rules for AoS? Found a couple of goblin mech type miniatures. There don't seem to be any obvious 'counts as' in the Kharadron army list as they don't have any big monster type units.
So is there anything in another list I could use? (This won't be for tournaments or pick up games, just something basic for playing a friend)

Core rules have a bit, mission pack(ghb most likely) nuts and bolts. In short 1/4 units and up to total 400 pts in 2k. Only rules in warscroll used for the unit. Nothing else.

(and factions you can take allies in page where ko points are)

So could maybe use that top one as a 'counts as' Seraphon 'Spawn of chotec', maybe add some flamer-type weapons to the claws etc?

So right now even within a Grand Alliance there are limits on what factions can ally with each other. Eg Skaven in Chaos only allies with Nurgle.


The ally rules are honestly very nice and mostly prevent you cheesing things too much.


The other option is to keep an eye on One Page Rules. They've opened up and a lot of 3D print designers are now making armies for OPR with rules for them (approved by OPR).

No cross ga allies exist(except mercenary gargant) but not every army can ally with every army. List found on points page. Ko can take dwarves from cities of sigmar, stormcast and fyreslayers.(plus kraken eater mega gargant but then no other allies)

Picked up my Hunter and Hunted today.

Wildercorps are already all built.

Finally got round to finishing some of the new Seraphon.
I do like the end result but hot damn do they take a while to do.

Skaven Gnawhole #3 is nearly done. Only two more complete sections of its scaffolding to go.

Very nice! I absolutely love those CoS miniatures, think just the right blend of adding some high-fantasy without going OTT.

Thank you! I agree they have a nice own personality and thus some things are familiar. The cattle helmets for example.
They were painted using mostly contrast with metal colors for armour and weapons.

Those look amazing MongooseMatt! I have never felt so inadequate, in more than the time it took you to do those I had tried and failed to finish 2 Epic Eldar doomweavers, which are approx 1.5cm in length

My AoS production has stalled while I wait on a delivery of printed goblin heads to arrive from France.. apparently there is a shortage!

If you are not a masterclass painter and need to Get Stuff Done, I have become quite evangelical at the local club about Slapchop. It really is The Way

It's great and I have used for certain minis (although I refuse to call it that, for some reason it annoys me like hell because the technique was around for years before someone with a YouTube channel came up with a snappy name for it! And then you had people actually dying from excitement over the concept of 'slapchop'.. Anyway I digress..! Must calm blood pressure.. ) But I don't find I can get a good result from contrast paints in all instances, which typically for me are when I need to paint loads of something yours look fantastic though, what do you have next in line?
