Big wargaming show coming up this weekend, Essen Spiel - apparently Prodos are going to be there with some AvP amongst their Warzone releases.

To much to hope for that someone that reads this thread will be attending?

If not I will have a trawl of the internet over the weekend and see I can find some news.

Now that is a very cool looking piece of terrain!

Hope you can make a really good job of weathering it and making it look really ancient.. you can imagine a Predator up there with a staff knocking aliens off that are scaling the sides.

Hi there folks,

It's Rob here, just for a quick update as today is actually part of my pre-booked post-Essen holiday. I return properly to work tomorrow, but Jarek thought today is Friday... All very confusing!

In any case, the boss promised it, so here I am, making the update for you!

So, as many of you have likely already seen, we took our sample copy of AvP to Essen Spiel in Germany, so that the huge number of backers that attended the show could see it physically. Suffice to say, there was a lot of interest and understanding in the process we went through. It was nice to talk to so many folks and I hope everyone is happy with what they have seen!

The best place to get some good pictures from the show that I have seen so far is from Brueckenkopf. It is a German language news portal that is truly excellent!

Obviously, the copy we had was a pre-production sample. The tiles will be of a higher quality and the box itself has changed slightly in terms of design. Below illustrates what I mean.

Now, I have read some comments that some of you do not understand why we have changed. The previous version did not fit perfectly with the rest of our range for retail release and the Fox logo was represented in a manner that they do not like. This box meets the requests they have made for change, but still requires final approval.

Echoing my comment in the comments section yesterday, here is what we are waiting on.
- Rulebook (Rules Text)
- Rulebook (Story Text)
- Rulebook (Descriptive Text)
- Alien vs Predator: The Hunt Begins (Board Game Box)
- Alien vs Predator: The Hunt Begins (Tokens and Markers)
- Alien vs Predator Expansion Sets (Boxes for Add Ons such as the Queen, Powerloader, Hellhounds, etc).

If there is anyway to speed it up, we will do. Jarek has been calling Fox once a day and has made it very clear how important it is for the most brisk approval time possible (which we believe it has been and still is, of course). We had hoped (perhaps naively) that it would have been all approved during our time at Essen Spiel, but apparently not... I'll repeat our earlier sentiments of that we want to ship this as soon as possible. Sitting on it all and doing nothing costs us time and money. We missed out on a huge opportunity at Essen Spiel, we will be missing out on the opportunity this weekend at a show in Poznan and also next weekend at Crisis in Antwerp and Malta Comics Expo. We want to be the best of the best in the industry and we will be, as soon as we have access to start shipping, printing more and selling this product line in addition to Warzone Resurrection and our future endeavors.

We are now considering splitting shipments, to ensure that some of the models are at least shipped out to you guys. This will likely not include the Board Game and AvP: The Hunt Begins Unleashed rulebook, due to the constraints we are suffering from the approval process.

If we do go with split shipments, it will be our last resort. Please understand that we have suffered some truly terrible results in our Warzone Resurrection Kickstarter due to split shipments and that is a large reason why we decided not to do this for AvP. In the Warzone Resurrection Kickstarter, we had multiple shipments go to the same people, missed shipments, several shipments for missing parts and a nightmarish amount of paperwork. We really want to keep this Kickstarter as simple as possible.

However, more importantly, we really want you guys to get at least the most of your order in your hands before Christmas.

Of course, if we do decide to split the shipments, this will be on us, not you guys. You will not need to pay a single penny! We will likely start with the largest shipments, if we do go with it. Please wait for us to confirm with Fox that this is the approach we are taking.

Some of us actually pledged because we want the game. Not only that, but want the Deluxe bespoke KS collector's edition we paid for.

So, no, don't just chuck it in a brown cardboard box. Instead, deliver the great game promised.

An additional benefit to doing it correctly is the nice boxes are likely to sell better when the game hits retail.

If memory serves, they added double sided tiles to the boxed game, some predator specific tiles and a set of the resin markers tiles
