Wooo hoo! I actually got a lot done today! You can really see my ADD in action, as I worked on a lot of different things, nothing to 100% completion... So let's get to it.
Wooo hoo! Legs!! She finally can stand up under her own power now. Or her own glue and styrene, whatever. The only things left for the leg's main structure are a few more rivets on the ass and some wires/hoses on the legs. Come to think on it, there are only like 12 rivets missing, but honestly, I have put on like 400 of the things today, and my rivet making hand is cramping up.
Gun! The other is done and looks just like this, only it doesn't have wires attached. I went for the winged =I= just because it was kind of neat and unique. That and it filled up the space admirably. Still, I am happy with the way things turned out, though I am cringing to think of highlighting all those rivets when paint time comes.
Pilot!
Finally got her in the mail, so I got to wire her up! I still need to put the cables in her head and up to the hood, but that's the close up of her. Here's the thing posed together, sacrificial virgin and death machine:
See, the little curving hood bit goes behind her, and wires go up from her head to it. Also note the additional pipes.
Now, part of my dilemma the next few days: Where to put the statues? They are a little bigger than I had expected, so I am not certain if putting them in the front corners will make it too high in the front, or if that will be fine.
Imagine this, only less blurry, with the statues higher up, and pipes surrounding them.
Or should I flank the pilot with the statues, and put something else in the corners? Another set of pipes or something?
I dunno yet. I probably will have to play with it a little before I can make up my mind.
And here is the whole gang together.
I am thinking Uriah is a bit big for that role, since he really blocks sight of the pilot. I don't mind her being the second thing the eye focuses on, shooting for that "Wait, what's back there?", but I do want her to be visible, not just a pair of arms and wires poking out from behind a flag. So I will need to see what playing with the flagellants and such yields.
Well, that's largely it. T minus 6 days... getting nervous. I think it is safe to say it won't have all the purity seals and knick knacks done for the game at this point. This is really a learning experience, and I am rapidly learning some aspects take bloody forever.

UPDATE TIIIIIIIME! Well I'm impressed man, lots of progress. The legs look quite good, really solid little robot legs there. The girl looks good plugged in like that, mad props on the mini find. The dakka-cannon is solid, good offset for the guns - but where's my ejection port for all the spend brass?? On the statues, I kinda like them positioned foward, but the corner-position has its merits too. I suppose with the corners filled with ... something the statues looking foward would look even better? Uriah certainly looks the business in the puplit there, though as noted he's pretty big. Most of that is his skull banner, any chance that can not be there? Great bit, could be attached elsewhere on the machine, but that's the thing really blocking the chick and such, IMO. Keep up the great work, APOC II looms! - Salvage EDIT: I looked at the bitz for Uriah, and that banner is so totally a part of the model. So disregard my "just detach the banner FTW " comment

is that uria jacobonson (sp?) sweet jesus i love that model. he is one of my acolytes in my now conformed witch hunters army. he will be walking around with my inquisitor.
love the titan, looking forward to seeing some primed love at least. i primed the skull hammer today, prolly dump a load of paint on it today as well.

I'd suggest the statues flank the pilot. If you want the pilot more visible, you could also raise her up higher.

Yea, I was giving it thought during my meetings today, and I am thinking that flanking the chick with the statues will work, with the extra flag banners I have from the Immolator sprues in each corner. They will be a little smaller than the statues, and lend themselves for some nice text/icon lovin'.
I love Uriah too. I kept seeing him at Hobby Town for 10% off, and just couldn't come up with a good excuse to buy him. Until now. I think the skull banner might work out, but I am going to leave him unattached in anycase so I can yank him out to be a cool priest or slavering loonie, whatever. I like to keep my options open.
I am pretty burned out now, but I am hoping to at least get the rest of the rivets on the legs on tonight, and hopefully mount the flag banners and the statues. I will probably leave the pilot unattached for the time being so she isn't impossible to paint. I really want her to be the hidden centerpiece of what will really be the center piece of my army.
I am also thinking I need to replace the little burning ball thingie the wizard statue is holdeing with an Inquisitorial signet or something. That ball of fire thing smacks of heresy and impure thoughts.
So Dave, do you have any other spare Sister type bits? Small Fluer d'lys parts or anything? I have the Imperial city in the mail, and hope to pull a few fancy cathedral type bits from that, but other than spare immolator/exorcist parts, I am really hard up.
Salvage: I just can't feel the ejection ports. I wanted to make a cascade of spent casings, but I keep looking at the way the barrels line up and thinking that I can't see how it would function. slowed, seeing as how the thing is piloted by a 14 year girl with wires in her brain, but at the same time a mental block.

Ahh ok. I got the little angel things too, since they looked neat. I am slightly tempted to suspend them on tiny wires and give the redemptor a "swarming with cherubim" look.
I got a few things done yesterday after my meeting marathon, so I will post pics tonight.

Work is killing me. I went home late last night, glued on some rivets, 4 pipes, then decided the mental effort that took was giving me a head ache. So I sat and pet my cat and read a book for a few hours before passing out. I will hopefully be able to get a bunch done when I can think straight, and post some pics. Probably not tonight though. I think I will be in the office till 6 or 7 a least.

Heh, my wife always wants to buy clothing for the cat. If I can find an Imperial Commisar type coat for it, I might let her. The cat would be damn cute in a little hat and coat like that.
Fortunately though, the cat stays away when I am using glue and knives. She LOVES to jump in my lap and use my arm as a pillow when I am painting though.
Come to think of it, I should make her a Collar of Khorne for Halloween next year. Take a few pictures with a red filter... hehehe. Time to go home and see if I can get something done.

Acceptance of a stable temporal reality is for the weak! One moment of the warp will strip such fantasies from your mind!
This heresy brought to you by the fact it is almost impossible for me to get this finished enough to prime before Sat :(. I have the top nearly done, save for the top of the box edges, rivets and metal straps on the pipes, and wheedly bobs and whirly gigs. The legs need some pipes. So, actually, I might not need a pact with Tzeentch to get it passably done before Saturday, but I will be adding lots of bitz after the fact.
I promise I will post some pics tonight. I took some last night, but got side tracked by a show on Ants. Their industrious ways were lost upon me, however, and I went to bed after it was over.

Holy crap, I really haven't posted any pics in a long ass time... sorry? Looking at it now, I am filled with shame. Let's fix that...
From earlier in the week:
Hey look! Flags! (Remember when I said I came home and did a lot of nothing before giving up and petting the cat? This was from that day.)
I did, however, get the statues seated, the wizard chopped up a little to give it the rosarius instead of the fireball.
The next day:
Our pilot, chock full of wires and redeeming faith. Presumably not faith that this is the start of a bright career in computers, but still faith.
Here she is, all wired in like a big girl. I am going to keep her little alter thing seperate so I can get to the back of her for painting, however.
Then... POW! She's all but done!!
YAY! Now, of course it is only about 90% finished modeling wise. There is still nary a purity seal on it! However, GS purity seals and some banners aside, it has the paneling finished, and most of the important gubbins in place. I am also going to put some plasticard "bands" and rivets around the organ pipes, as well as a Fluer d'lys on the back of the pipes so they are not such a featurless plain, but other than that, she is ready for primer! Very happy If I manage to get off work early tomorrow afternoon, I should be able to get some extra gubbin lovin on her, so I can prime her after my game with Shrew tomorrow, and she will be dry and ready to strike fear into the hearts of mortals for Saturday!

That's some fine work there. With most of the gubbins on it looks fantastic. Shame there are no flamers anywhere though, the Elysium Launcher looks like it'll cleanse nicely though.

I really like it ^_^. Just make sure you go overboard with the banners and purity seals. It really feels like it'll come alive with that step.

I find its lack of proper feet ... disturbing
But in all other ways, awesome work man. The extra bitz add that needed pop, and I look forward to it being festooned in PURITY! and painted up proppa.
Oddly enough, I think it looks all the more impressive from the back, where it's totally solid with the leg mechanisms, butt plate, and the organ which really does look like a musical instrument from back there ...

I agree, I am far rom a tech magos like yourself but i do belive it needs toes.. or bulked up feet.
Use an AT-AT walker or Warhound toe examples...
plain Round.. jus seems to cheapen the look you got!
And also.. ad bitas long the balcony railing..candles.. books.. flames.. little spikes.. its to clean.

Yes... toes... I do need to do something about those. I had a few ideas I tossed around and eventually out over the course of building it. I can't seem to hit something that doesn't seem off scale or silly. I will come up with something.
Oh, there will be extra bitz. Oh yes, there will be extra bitz. Candles, purity seals and banners are all going to be GS'd up. I have gotten to the point that a mini without purity seals bothers me. It litteraly troubles me to not paint at least 3 in a five man squad.
The Redemptor did pretty well for itself in the game on Saturday though. I didn't manage to crack any vehicles with it (well, one died to the Martyr Switch, but it was my own so it hardly counts.) It turns out Str 8 AP1 is still pretty sucky against super heavies when you can't roll more than 8 on 4 Exorcist d6's. The Fortuned Avatar staring down the board at me also sucked up around 120 heavy bolter rounds from the Redemptor and my Inquisitor. He however fell to the immense faith of the pilot! Nothing like nuking your own superheavy in your own lines to take out an Avatar, banshee squad and warp spider exarch, along with a handful of tau allies that parked a little too close.
I am thinking that perhaps a heavier gun is better for tank hunting, like the Apocalypse launcher the other knight class has. Or maybe I need to learn to roll higher than 3.

Time left = -4 days. I had it primed for the game Sat (I will post a few pics) but that's it.
Right now, I am taking a "dear god, paint something" breather from it. After I finish Librarian Paterno, I will revisit the toes, and make a giant pile of purity seals and some banners, then get to painting this bad boy.
Almost there, but whew, really pushed my nascent modelling skills pretty hard
