okay my xbox finally played its last game...even had enough juice to spit out my game before it died. according to what the xbox rep said there is an internal problem with it (it flashes green then red) and there is no guarantee they can fix it. My question is there a place that buys back the core? I remember when my first ps one died, Funcoland offered $20 for the core towards the purchase of a refurbished ps one (which i have to this day, still works too). i already bought a refurbished xbox with a one year warranty, it was just a little more than what the xbox rep quoted me for repair cost plus it had a better warranty too. although i doubt it, perhaps ebay? maybe one of you guys has the skill to repair it....i don't know.
oh and if you are wondering why i didn't get a 360 its because i am still undecided on which console to get.  besides i don't think the 360 will play all of my xbox games<!--IBF.ATTACHMENT_408962-->.  well thanks for any help with this, it would be appreciated.

EB games will buy back old x-box's and give you good $$ toward a 360.

Just in case anyone found this thread useful, EB games gives $20 credit for a broken core. I decided to go on ebay, the average seems to be $40-$50 depending on the condition of the core. It looks like the unopened broken cores are the most sought after though.
