Well, for myself, and those who also didn’t bother with the Epic Store during the 1 year window of exclusivity, today is release day on Steam. Didn’t pay much mind to this game because 3 Kingdoms and TW2 took up so much of my time.

Looks like 2 new modes dropped with it, Historical and Mythos, giving it 3 modes of play. You have the mode available at launch, which tries to weave the myth and history together, then you have Historical which looks like your typical Total War experience, then Mythos which fully embraces the fantastical side of things.

Did about 20 turns as Hector, because I liked Eric Bana’s portrayal of him in “Troy”. Haven’t really unlocked anything yet, just completing missions and building up an army. Probably going to head south and take Lesbos, because thats where my closest enemy is currently, though he outnumbers me.

All in all, it looks beautiful, as any modern game should with my week old 3090. Still have to wrap my head around some mechanics and systems new for this game, but after a disappointing change to my favorite TW2 faction, I’ll have the time.

Pretty much the same - ignored it as on Epic and no true mythic units.

Now its full on Mythic Greece and on Steam - was a must buy. It does look lovely and lots of cool fluff and imagery.

So far done about 12 turns as Hippolyta - took a Province, fought a Hydra priest (who I can now recruit) and not sure what to do next as surrounded by now friendly nations.....hmmm

Got another 20 turns in, the Hector campaign isn't really grabbing me. Pretty much surrounded by friendlies makes for some boring Total War.

Also, holy gak does the AI love to barter. And there are alot of AI factions, making turns last a bit longer than they should.

Now turn 26 or so and at war with a couple of locals, have a Griffin (little one) and building a small empire, just about to take my first city with a temple.

Battering is useful so far but there are lot of extra bits and pieces compared to TW;Warhammer - enjoying all the extras so far
