I'm working on some Dark Eldar Wracks, very cool models, amazing sculpts with some great detail. They're made out of finecast and fragile as glass though.
I mean extremely delicate, one touch with too much force and there goes an arm or weapon. I've already had to glue the weapons back on several times and I shudder to think about actually using them in a game, as they're so delicate.
In all likelyhood they'll end up benchwarming as collector's models not a functional piece.

i've started building my deadzone models, now that i've finished playing around with the terrain.
going one baggie at a time is keeping it from being overwhelming.
so far, mold lines have been minimal, and only one orx with a flamethrow so far is gonna need a touch of gap filling (his one arm is just slightly short of reaching the back of the gun

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

My Eldar forces will soon be painted! I am taking suggestions - anyone think a rainbow theme would work well?
That sounds like an interesting idea! Maybe make the soulstones multicolored as well? (though rainbow soulstones would probably be a massive pain to paint)
Sounds like a fun challenge, might do that. Some sort of oil slick appearance on the stones, and black/white armour? I hear a test model on the way.
Thanks for the idea!

Almost forgot! I finally got my Bonesinger model built - looks even better than I thought it would. Should make a great spiritseer in game... though I'm a bit nervous to paint it.

Got some more games of Deadzone in, I'm just about getting hang of the mechanics now (although I do keep forgetting to play cards). It is everything it cracked up to be, fast, furious and fun.
Having the 4 factions means I can keep switching up, so I can't see myself getting bored with it all that fast.

Painting up some old orcs for my fantasy army (currently Kings of War). Some great old models with lots of character. Some from this page:
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Orcs_-_Marauder_MM20
And a whole lot of others. Unfortunately, I don't see any of the catalogue pages at
http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
or
http://www.solegends.com/index.htm
But they're lots of fun to paint.

Having an introduction game on Thursday into Hordes, painting on my Trollblood Battlegroup every evening while I wait.
The More I look at the work I did until now, the more I think that it looks horrid. Sure, those are the second minis I started painting since i got into the Hobby for real a few weeks ago, but DAMN. Im afraid that people start to scratch their eyes out once they see these things.
Painting is hard.

Rampaging Carnifex

I magnetized all of them for every weapon, and generally run one brood of 3 or 2 broods of 2. Typical loadout lately has been bare bones with one stranglethorn cannon each, which gives me a solid number of 36", large blast, pinning hits basically every turn. I usually team them up with MC overload - like in my recent BR here:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/562293.page
It's surprisingly effective against non-flyer lists. I have considered adding one set of Brainleech devourers per model as well to mitigate the risk of flyers, but that takes up 45 more points for an already expensive brood. In my above game, the 5 stranglethorn cannons (Tyrants were armed similarly) were easily the stars of the game - constantly deleting units or at least pinning them.
The thing with Carnifexes and MCs in general is that though durable and expensive, they need to be taken in an all or nothing approach, IMO. One carnifex with a STC will get killed or just do little damage. However, when you saturate the board...
