Starting a 8600 point dystopian wars game.

Note I said starting, no intention of finishing before next weekend.

It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

6 and a half hours later we deployed, played through turn 1 and called it for the night. It was a mess and I can not wait till tomorrow when all the big guns get in close enough to bring the real pain

Undercoating all my medium/large/huge based Cygnar models, luckily it is only 12 models. Then filling in the slotta base and basing the last 40 small base models I have.

I have set myself a task to get most of the basic colour on to my Cygnar before I can buy anymore.

Cygnar (133) | 82% painted - Menoth (65) | 92% painted
Mercenaries (52) | 53% painted - Circle Orboros (42) | 92% painted - Minions (20) | 0% painted

Systems I play : Warmachine, Hordes, Star Wars X-Wing, Star Trek Attack Wing, Malifaux & Bolt Action.

Bringing my kid to a b-day party, which, conveniently, is located about 5 minutes drive from the FLGS. To which, conveniently, i have a xmas gift certificate.

... not sure what i'm going to get just yet. I might pick up some Kasrkins if they have them (for use as warrior acolytes in a retinue), or maybe ratlings (ditto), or some other characterful imperial guard pieces to serve the same purpose.

I also might pick up a broadside as well. Possibly a valkyrie.

Then it'll be on to finishing the assembly of my second riptide, and starting on those. Also have some witch elf / death cult assassin models still to assemble.

Now I only have four 3A plague and one 2A plague left to finish both forces.

Haven't touched the scenery yet, either to clip it or anything.

both of the IG Command boxes are full of amazing bits, and the Catachan one even has much better sculpted minis than the regular box of Catachans...
i don't even play, but i want both of those boxes just to make a characterful mini or two...
good choice...

Agreed Jah, i was really pleasantly surprised ... all five minis, with just a teeny bit of kitbashing, ended up looking like grizzled veterans that some inquisitor hand picked out of several campaigns. Very happy with how they came out. For 25.00, couldn't go wrong, and i have tons of cool bits left over. Can't believe i never stumbled on this little gem of a box before for kitbashing !

Finished those five guys today, now on to more kitbashing retinues and wrapping up Riptide numero dos...

It wasn't storming outside for once so I got some spraying done today for the first time in weeks.

Right now I'm painting an Emperors Children marine. I haven't painted a GW model for over a year and a half, let alone a Space Marine, so it feels nice. Love those minis.

@Alf, looking good.

@Squall, did you decide on the GW textured paint?

I managed to get the first layer of grey down on my first moderator from Bakunin, for working into "black" pants and for his guns. I fiddled around with a Yndij from deadzone, managed to get a kind of red I think I'll be happy with. Hopefully one or more things actually gets done soon though

When I get home I'm going to continue working on what I'm calling my chaos champions.

I have a death guard marine, a khorn cultist and a daemonette all on some nice scenic bases and I'm trying to avoid all the cliches on them.

Still no idea what I plan to to for tzeentch though.
