Lol there's a giant ghost mudcrab? I must not have played long enough!

Disregarding the other definition for a small horse/pony, hobby is: an activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure. So you should be good This is a pretty good thread if you want to talk about video games too http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/348374.page

No airbrush tonight, need sleep for work, it is therefore the goal of tomorrow.

Today is magnetizing for my knight's frame and taking the dremmal to the armor plating for battle damage. I'm thinking of doing some inlay work on the pauldrons ,but not sure about it, need to sketch it out and plan it some more.

Today I left work early because I got a box of Dreamforge kits. A big Crusader, the Beowulf/Grendel kits, capacitor cooler, and then a box of support weapons to go with my ground troops.

I put one leg together. Holy Crap this model is awesome.

Figuring out what game I want to get into with my friends. I'm torn between Warlord, Freeblades, Dust, and a myriad of others. They aren't super into tabletop games so I'm trying to stay away from mass battle games. It's been interesting doing comparisons.

What kind of things are they into outside of Miniature Wargaming? I say try to use it as a guide to see what games what you might try with some compromise as well.

He's on the mark, if they like Xcom go for deadzone If they like fantasy but aren't down for D&D maybe look into the mordheim or that song of blades or whatever its called. I think I missed a word. If they don't usually do gaming maybe something like zombicide? Oh and munchkin/quest is fun

I've been going through some stuff that came in the mail today. I finally got all of my missing bits for deadzone so I gawked at my rebs booster and assembled my Helfather. That is a tall dwarf! I also took some of my spiffy new Hasslefree bits and weaponizied my Hilda something or another Dreadball MvP. She's now sporting a plasma rifle and a forearm blade that used to be a fancy space marine knife.

If I do anything else it'll probably be more DZ marauders assembly, though I may try to see if my airbrush works again or not.

Adding if they like samurai movies try ronin

Kings of war would be too mass battle based despite multitasking

If they are intrested in ww2 maybe bolt action or flames of war

If they like anime maybe infinity

Today I am working on more of the Crusader. Yesterday I got one of the legs assembled and the armor cleaned up (to be added later).

I have the sword arm half done, gonna finish it tonight. Either gonna do the gun arm or start the other leg tonight.

They like Video Games, D&D, Sci-Fi, all sorts of stuff. I'm trying to push them towards a miniatures game because no one really wants to DM anymore.

I am dismayed that I cannot read! I made a 10 man Sternguard squad, apparently I misread the hvy and spec weapons bracket, I built 1 grav-gun, two plasma, and two hvy bolters... I'm not sure how I managed to not understand the squad minimum on special and hvy weapns...

So back to the drawing board, I can use those extras for hvy and special weapons in regular squads or, save them as Sternguard but only field them accordingly, meaning I'll have some options. Tonight I'll order another Sternguard box, and I'm waiting for two more drop pods to get in from my order.

I say if they like X-COM or something similar, then as Grimdork stated before, give Dead Zone a try. Another Recommendation is Dreadball if they do not mind fantasy sports. If they are into Sci-fi and animes that are Sci-fi, perhaps you can give Infinity a try (although that might need a little more investment than Dead Zone and Dreadball but it is still relatively easy to get and stay into). These are just some examples, perhaps you can consult with them and discuss what you want to try.

Well genestealers are just an extension of the hive mind, which is more animal than evil. And the empire is only evil if you are on the wrong side

My DFG Stormtrooper Accessory Kit came in the mail today so I've been scrutinizing that and trying to decide which bits I like and will use, and which (if any) I dislike enough to banish to the bits box of doom. The heads are sized for space marines, and may actually make an upcoming project more interesting The arms are smaller scaled and fit in a little better with mantic minis, the hands seem pretty viable for mantic minis, possibly even Infinity minis. The accessories(of which there are a ton!) are probably good for the smaller/thinner scaled models as well, great for DZ human rebs, infinity minis that somehow don't already have enough detail for you, and so on. The pouches also work for small/utility pouches on stockier models like space marines.

Maybe if I'm feeling lucky and the kid doesn't stay up all night... I'll get some airbrushing done

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.
