Assembling some Dark Eldar Beastmasters cobbled together from leftover DE bits and some various Warhammer Fantasy cavalry. I thought some Beastmasters that were, you know, actually riding beasts might look cool.

Finishing off the weathering on my latest FoW army. Its based on A Squadron, Royal Scots Greys in the Scheldt estuary so lots (and lots) of mud. They are looking pretty decent and more than tabletop worthy although I am still trying to find a way to make satisfactory scrim netting at 15mm.

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.
-Leman Russ, Meditations on Imperial Command book XVI (AKA the RT era White Dwarf Commpendium).
Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?
|
Started making some DZ scatter terrain. At the moment it's all small stuff, just to throw in a bit more cover, but I may look to some larger stuff over the weekend.
It includes so far:
Bottle Cap barrels (thanks Grimdork for the idea)
Bunker/Silo entrances made from coffee machine cup lids (the plastic ones) and some plasticard. I've done runied and intact versions.
A Public Information screen using clear plastic.
Any more ideas, anyone?

You can do the pill sorter dumpsters.
Cut a 2-4x2-4 inch piece of plastic/card and print a cheeky SciFi billboard out. You can use the angle connector bits on the back, or use clipped down straight connector support things on both sides (4 total), stick it on a roof or at ground level.
There are a lot more easy/cheap options but I'm drawing a blank.

Billboards would be easy enough, and I've got plans for a few more screens. My first screen has 'DON'T PANIC' written in large friendly letters, which can either be advice to the citizens in the event of a Plague outbreak or an indication that the Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy is entering it's 750,630th print run
I need to visit a some stores at some point to gather some bits and bobs, the dumpster-boxes are certainly on the lookout lists.
The other one I came up with is a 'Gaming Room'. I've put it on the same base as the Silo bases, and it has an Augmented Reality console, a pillaged fridge and some other nerdy stuff (I might try out a 'gaming board' as an in-joke, playing Deadzone in a Deadzone...)
I'm also working on some rules for the Corporation in Deadzone, I'll post them in the Mantic subforum in a couple of hours for feedback. Automatically Appended Next Post: And the Corporation House Rules are up! Check out the Mantic subforum to see them. Any and all feedback wanted.

Check, I think there's a post in one of the deadzone/corporation forums on the mantic boards . One of the other posters and I went back and forth a bit but I just don't get onto the mantic forums much. Will have to check your list out.

Before I got to work I was working on my Knight. Been spending a great deal of time on this guy as I'm going to use him as a centerpiece...but the kicker of it is that the work I'm putting into magnetizing his gun arm is actually degrading the overall qualit of the kit.

I had that happen with some of my marines. The poses they ended up with due to the magnets were a tad shoddier than if I had taken a long time lining them up nicely to be glued.
Got a couple of things that need to get dipped. May do that if time allows.

have been trying to find places to put / store many things after I received some old boxes from the family loft and saw things that eyes had not seen for 15 years!
Rogue Trader era Rhinos and three Whirlwinds (two of which were the "Journal" conversion using Rhino doors, a large creature base and a super glue nozzle ), and two of the first metal Dark Angel dreadnoughts. Lots of the first scenery I ever made, the "crags" still hold up well (turns out I was pretty good at covering a rough shape with sand & PVA and dry brushing with grey!). Three "Wargames Series" games in fantastic (played once, possibly not even played with) condition; The Battle for Armageddon, Horus Heresy and Doom of the Eldar Also, more of my Blood Bowl and Necromunda figures including 36 of my Escher gang!
@SilverMK2 ~ I'm loving that Imperial Knight conversion
@ruprecht ~ I really like the weathering on your Chimera dozer blade. Nice and clean and "simple looking". Is it simple to do?

Probably going to spend some more time painting my imperial knight today, and see if I can get a game in. Spend some time discussing the next season of kill teams with the FLGS and getting all of that goodness worked out.
Ogle what will probably be more orky goodness for new releases from GW today, and be annoyed that yet again, I still can't get my hands on the stupid tactical objective cards. I put them IN MY CART a couple of days ago..and then I got paid the next day, and they were temporarily out of stock. (Oh well, at least I don't play wood elves. Some of their stuff hasn't come back in stock for weeks. )

I have spent about 2 hours finding GT tournaments to attend this summer.
Found about 3 so far that I can attend so super excited about that.
Working on a 7th edition list that will form the core of my army. Then making adjustments from there. Lots of fun!! I think I know for sure certain elements that will be in it so starting monday it will be time to get to painting.

Jealous that Horus is Warmaster
|
Well just now I assembled a drop pod and a Storm Talon. There's an escalation league going on at a hobby store nearby and it's giving me a reason to expand and contemplate new things as well as become familiar with 7th edition rules.
Earlier tonight I built a Captain for a small Sons of Medusa force I'll be fielding in addition to my Sons of Antaeus, primed a sergeant that I had kicking around, and built my own Cypher model.
I know GW's Cypher is pretty iconic but, to me at least, it's starting to feel a little dated. I used some of the bits from the plastic Vanguard Veterans box and some FW 30k parts I had on hand to make a model that I liked that still preserved the feel of Cypher.
