My first impression from looking through the sprues is that the options are all great. The detail is very sharp and all nicely themed. The guns are all swappable easily, and it looks like it wouldn't be impossible to do a magnet job for the various claws and axe/shield. You can certainly get Bjorn and one other from the kit if you don't mind sharing heraldry, I'm not sure yet on Murderfang and the Ven being interchangeable but I hold out hope, it may be possible.
Overall, a very solid kit from the looks of things, certainly worth the money! Certainly the best Dread kit, I think.

Over the weekend I had the idea to do a WW1 trench raid diorama in 15mm using some Peter Pig models. Ordered some late war Brits and German Stormtroopers; some bits to build and detail the trench with and a few books on uniforms and fortifications of the Western Front. Hopefully that should all get to me in the next few days.In the meantime I did some research and planning and I've drawn up a basic layout of the trench system. I managed to find some pictures on the interwebz that seem to come from a British trench construction handbook of the period. A pretty good find because they give typical arrangements and dimensions that I'll be able to scale off.
I hope to start recording my progress in a P&M blog, which I'll start tonight. Not having models in hand yet I'll only be able to show the planning stages, and the base on which I've sketched the trench layout I'll be using.
Can't wait to get the bits to start!

More thoughts on the dread now it's mostly built:
If you want to swap the arms/hands around, it's certainly doable but you will need to use magnets or blue tack. Unlike the other dread kits, the arms don't fit snugly enough to allow easy swapping without magnets.
On the plus side, the parts are all there to do this. If you leave the wrists separate then you can build all of the hand assemblies for each variant, apart from Bjorn's claw and the normal dccw, but that's no great loss.
I'll post a full review down in P&M later.

Well, I got my diorama done so now I can finally get back to freely painting whatever, so I'll start doing that. Probably some Infinity figures, though I've got a load of deadzone models which could use some paint.

I've started building Napoleonic Carabiniers for my French army. The horses are all done, finished them whilst watching "The Siege" and not a bad B movie about the Muslim siege of Vienna.
Friday will see the painting of said horses as I like to go back in forth between building and painting to keep things fresh.

Bah decided to start a new Diorama, a handful of stalwart adventurers traveling down a dark path, unbeknownst to them, full of evil undead!
I may have to sort out a space to try out the new deadzone contagion solo zombie survival mini campaign.

I bought some new sprue snips as my old ones are 4 years old and have been "mishandled" too often. Clipping Malifaux bits requires better snips. And got some plastic cement.
Otherwise, it's just watchin' TV and readin' for the night. Finished a mini yesterday and taking a break.

I've got plans for my 1500 point tournament list laid out, and am now working hard to make sure that the models are all ready to go. I need to gloss coat a Tyrant and 3 Carnifexes, base 1 of them, do about 5 stages of painting on 3 Pyrovore models (Biovores!) and paint a few twin linked devourers that I just fabricated.

Right me, I'm a super slow painter because of other priorities but I can say it's taken me on and off near to a year to finish just 18 tactical marines a few sergeants.
I bought I few days ago another couple of boxes to add to my many unopened ones - a vanguard squad and a command squad. I have noooo clue when I'm going to get around even painting these hahaha but I just tested a bid on eBay for about 50-60 minis I won for 18 quid which are from the dark vengeance set with some limited edition captains.
I always priorities in painting the eBay 2nd hand models first before the new boxed ones.
I plan on continuining the damn tactical sim sure I have 100 of them now so by my estimate I will be finished in 20 years.....
You can check my painted ones in my left side link

This is exactly why I'm perfectly happy playing skirmish games now. I don't have it in me to paint on a production line. When I got through 4 Termagants and saw another 40 odd sitting there it would just crush my enthusiasm.

Do tell us how it goes. I have to say I enjoy X-Wing after the first time I played it. Only shame is that I have only one Core Set. :(
