Played a brief game of Necromunda this morning.

Got my butt kicked hard by Goliaths.

Played a small 40K tournament with my mono-nurgle daemons.

Got my butt handed to me by Iron Hands
Got chewed up by Necrons, though i did managed to sit on his warlord and kill him with my GUO
Beat down some SW due to awesome rotty goodness, and a Soul Grinder that just wouldn't die

I've started making some unit stat cards for 40k in Word, there's probably an easier/better way of doing it but at least I know my way around the program and they're looking pretty good with the backgrounds and artwork. It'll hopefully be easier than lugging a codex around.

Until you are accused of subtle alterations by TFG, who won't play unless you have your codex and a receipt of purchase!

Shudder.

Sounds like a plan though! The guy who ran the Kings of War events at GenCon had index sized cards printed and laminated for each of the units for each army, they were quite handy!

That sounds like a good idea, even just compiling the relevant information from the various parts of a codex would make the game flow quicker and stop your codex from getting so tatty.

I plan on doing something similar for games I am learning to play so I always have a quick reference as to what a Unit can and cant do.

That's the idea. I'll still have the codex with me, but as I tend to play with limited space, is easier to have a few cards on side than a whole codex. As I'm doing it for each actual unit I use, it saves adding the points up each time I want to play, I can just see the whole unit cost pre-totalled. It also saves time flicking backwards and forward if I go with an idea I had of putting weapon stats and rules notes on the back.

Haha, one of the advantages of playing with a fairly small group of guys I've known for years is that we don't really have TFG!* If I start playing in other groups, I'll be sure to clear it with the opponent beforehand, but I can't see it causing an issue as I do have the codex. (Where else would I get the info? )

*disadvantages include games once every couple of months and only a few armies across the board...

At least you've got a couple-few regulars with which to play. I got 3 games in at gencon, I think that puts me up to 5 for the entire year

Yeah, it is handy, although they're dropping like flies. Start of the year we had 5 of us that were regulars, were now down to three and we haven't played since about April. Might have to see what the local GW has on.

5 games this year is low though! Still, you must be among the more productive painters on here!

Well, was stripping the Land Raider and it fell apart, horray super glue I guess, so now I have to completely rebuild it - which allows me to build it right.

Also painted the inside of my StormRaven; I'm not one for painting and THEN gluing but I figured the Rave deserved an extra bit of love.

Trying to live up to my apparent reputation as someone who gets a lot of stuff done Started a mini before work this morning, finished it this afternoon, just need to let the dip cure so I can remove the integrated base and get it onto a clear acrylic. Will start another time permitting.

Just got done applying some Secret Weapons Miniatures Armour Wash to my Daemon Army... next up... well I don't know... if it turns out okay after the wash has dried I probably won't touch it. We'll see... was originally going to apply some red wash next but so far the army is looking fine as is right now.

I like your lamp, I'm just setting up a new work area and definitely struggling with light, where is this one from and would you recommend it??
