Finally started painting up the 6 Khador warjacks that I picked up to use as "Lesser Abbysal Golems" in my KoW army. I was really worried that these would be complex models to paint, but it seems to be mostly red and boltgun with some grey and bronze here and there.
The race is on to finish them for the KoW mega-game this Thursday. Wish me luck!

Neat idea. What Warjacks did you use? I think the Devastator would be a pretty good fit for Abyssal Golems.
As for me, I'm cleaning the flat, including the hobby area. I have no real project currently, so I'm just surfin' misc wargaming sites.

Finished magnetizing one of my giant stompy robots and attack saucers today. Another robot and two more saucers to go. Or well... the one saucer still has a second set of guns to go as well. Need to fetch a 1/8'' drill bit.
I also ordered some 3mm steel ball bearings to go with my 3mmx1.5mm magnets so I can try the ball bearing magnet method. May not do anything until I get some different models in but I like to have materials around.

Thanks!
I picked the Khador Jacks because I was able to find them cheap and they look like mechanical versions of the old style chaos warriors (battlemasters) that make up much of my infantry units. I've got a plastic Maurader and a plastic Juggernaught that I modified to have two axes. The others seem to be 4 metal Destroyers. Two have a left hand fist and one each of the different kind of axes in the right. One has two fists and one has a double bladed axe and a fist. It took a bit of converting, but my buddy picked up a bag of leftover plastic warjack arms and weapons at our FLGS auction for 2 bucks that gave me all the parts I needed.

`twas a cracking game, and the table did run red with blood! Tau, Crons and Nids against an all-the-Imperium (minus SoB) army, and the final score after 5 turns came in at 6-4 to me.
Highlights:
- Losing my Knight to some improbable Tau Fusion Suits on T2, thought I was going down there.
- Thunderwolf Lord with Black Death going mano-a-mano with a Destroyer Lord, surviving MSS and smacking the DLord in a single round of combat. My Thunderwolves were certainly the MVP of this game, getting me First Blood, Kill the Warlord and clearing an objective on T5.
- In two consecutive turns, my late-to-the-party Deathwing took about 1000+ points of shooting to take down, and the Inqusitor attached to them made about 25 straight saves.
- Somewhat dissapointing performances from my Legion of the Damned and Ironclad were more than made up for by a single GH pack taking out Genestealers over 3 rounds, Thunderwolves annihilatiing everything they touched and the amazing Terminator saves.
- A platoon of Guardsmen and Old One Eye had a mexican stand-off for 4 player turns, in which each failed spectacularly to make the 7" charge distance between them.
- After the game ended, we fought one more round of combat between the Tactical Squad that fought Old One Eye, and after some neat rolls, the power-sword armed Sergeant cut the head from the mighty beast.
All in all, a great game, and it's that kind of fun and hilarity that 40k is about!

Hooray for small, achievable goals! Wrapped up the wraith build last night, as predicted, and the primer on the Veer-myn has had plenty of time to cure. Heading off to work, soon, but when I get back I plan to prime the wraiths, before setting them aside, and airbrush the basecoat of the space not-skaven's yellow armor, just to make my life a little easier (relatively small areas with lots of overlapping details, so I'd rather get easy coverage and shade down than try to layer up a weak color on such a broken surface). Still haven't settled on flesh/fur tones for them, so if my energy holds, I'll see where the night takes me. Varied colors sounds cool, but means 1) more time and effort spent and 2) a mismatch with the almost identical Corporation Marines opposing them.
I'd like to do a quick and dirty job just to get them done, but that's not really in my nature. I'm more of a "slave over details that seem important when they're starkly lit and right under my nose, but have no impact on the finish when viewed normally" kind of guy.

But they're space rat people! Spray them the base color for their armor (traditional yellow, or maybe a nice green or grey), block in the fur, weapons, anything else, paint the lenses blue maybe? Dip those suckers. Dust them with matte varnish. Boom. Done. And they don't look bad either Your way is perfectly viable too, but the above is what the space rat men will expect. If you stick to the noble and more difficult path, they may become confused and revolt I had a buddy stop by today and we played a game of Mars Attacks! It was really fun. The pace was quicker than deadzone with fewer actions to choose from and less counters and things to track. Things were going pretty well until we drew a total of maybe 8 event cards between us over a couple of rounds... There were civilians running scared all over the table, flaming cattle trampling human soldiers, giant robot launched cars crushing poor unsuspecting martian grunts, more than one giant bug hunting for lunch... After the dust cleared I was down to two grunts against five human soldiers, tied with 2 victory points to go. I activated a freeze ray support card to stun a human soldier and ordered one of my grunts to go club him like a baby seal, and snagged two VPs for the melee kill for a win. All in all a very chaotic and comical game, definitely going to try to share this with as many people as possible and I can't wait to get through all of the extra scenarios in the upcoming supplements.

I've finished assembling my Asterian faction starter. I'm onto the random metal models next I think.
Then all I have left from my Deadzone Kickstarter Wave 2 is...
Asterian Booster Bundle
Orx Booster Bundle
67 Zombies
Long Walls set
2 Ruined Battlezones
And Another 2 Coreworld Battlezones.
Oh yikes....

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

Started working on some Deadzone Rebs that will double as Infinity stand-ins, and also thinking on the potential for painting/converting the alien Rebs to CA stuff. I was thinking of GSing some furs/manes onto the Grogan for Morats, and maybe the Yndij as something Moraty as well.
On a side note, I saw the extended version of Desolation of Smaug today, and holy feth it is awesome! Any fans of the Hobbit need to buy it, watch it, then watch it again! Now GW needs to hurry up and release the Smaug model.

I shoudn't worry about doing the Nomads first, I saw a comment from CB's Community Rep that said 'PanO are cool and all, but the Nomads are just better. They're more badass space pirates!" So yeah, Nomads for the win!

Nomads aren't really space pirates, they're The Internet: The Faction. Corregidor are the Internet Toughguys and FPS players, Tunguska are the script kiddies and hackers, and Bakunin is 4chan.

Hah, brilliant. I can imagine a Corregidor merc getting back from an op, running indoors and booting up Call of Duty 17503: Really Really Advanced Warfare and making sure his ranking hasn't gone down.
