been painting some space hulk genestealers according to the instructions on a tale of painters and they're looking great so far.

also got a cultist squad on the go with some conversions i'm really proud of but i'm not a good enough painter to really make it look like i want it too.

finally i'm part way through a converted space marine captain standing triumphant on a downed crisis suit. it's the first time i've ever done anything like this and it looks like it. still, next one will be better!

Neat chaos thing

So what did you do Larva, paint the bricks red and then work the filler into the joins? It's a bit striking but I think it works pretty well.

It's less striking under normal lighting. The flash is a bit harsh on the white.

Like all of modelmates' weathering dyes the brick joint filler remains water soluble (so they need sealing on with a varnish top coat). I sprayed them with red car primer and then pretty much whitewashed them with the white joint filler. Give it half an hour to dry then use a wet cloth or tissue and wipe across the brick surface to remove everything that wasn't in the crevices. It's tragically easy.

There is not this idea.

I painted a dang old cabin with a dang old thatched roof. Can't get the roof looking right, though. It looks... flat? Lacking in depth. Something like that.

Just use gorilla glue on every join. It oozes out and then you paint it sufficiently plague color.

Shred City.

Had some girls come over to strip for me:

I had a big vat of Simple Green with about 16 tanks and various Tyranids, Lizardmen, other random stuff soaking for about 8 months now. I wanted them prepared for Winter so I had plenty of projects to work on, and so I called them up! They owed me favors from all the times I've fixed their computers/electronics over the years. We had a lot of fun! Ordered pizza, watched some movies they wanted to see, and I gave some shoulder and neck massages when they requested them! Ha ha!

edit - Forgive the mess in the background. My hobby room is full of my supplies, collectibles, books, and other trinkets/electronics. Also, those black and silver cases, as well as the boxes they are stacked on top of in the background are stuffed full of Warhammer still needing assembly/processing/painting. My backlog is yeeeears long.

I also had my girlfriend do some other tedious stuff. It's funny how people are so enthusiastic to do something their first time around. PAINT MY RIVETS, YOU!:

@Jim, the cool metal incubi with trenchcoat-vests? Or regular metal incubi with *real* weapons like punishers instead of these newfangled "klaives".

Spray on basecoats are always nice

I got 5 mars attacks human soldiers dipped today, just gotta spray seal them and they'll be good to go. I also started on a halo themed shirt for my nephew's x-mas present. Packing up some space marines now to hopefully play a game a little later on, we'll see.

Yeah I'm taking the same approach for my infantry too. I sadly don't feel up to painting all that often so I wanted something I can make quick progress on and knock out a large amount of models in a short time. Samurai I love but they take me forever to do. 15mm seems ww2 seems far more forgiving.

I have finally finished painting my very first Terminator. It was a good test-piece and I'm eager to paint the remaining 4.

Today the hobby will most likely be just assembling a box of Devastators and not much else.
