Funnily enough, I do happen to have some scale shots to hand of the epic ships.
First, how they compare to the normal releases.
Plus, some extra stuff... My shadowsword and [strikethrough]Imperial Guard[/strikethrough] Valkyrie.

So the Decimator is almost as big as the rebel transport At least from what I can tell, it should be a big longer than the falcon and with more bulk. I'm sure the falcon is bigger than the yt2400 especially in length, but the Decimator still looks be be larger.
Kind of selling me on those bigger kits though!

Turned out to be a great day.

I tried basecoating a boxfull of my mantic scenery from Deadzone wave 2.
It was so windy the spraypaint started going upwards. I managed a sprue and a half before I gave up.

Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?
|
My willpower finally crumbled after just over 2 years, and bought a box of GW Hobbit-era Dwarves. My thinking is that my next lined up purchase (WGF Orcs) are cheap enough that I can splurge a bit on these. Very nice minis, all being fairly heavily converted, but the £20 price point for a dozen of them still stings a bit.

Ouch!
Well, while Para is distracted by converting these new dwarfs, I'm gonna go paint some more so I can try to catch up
I'm thinking 2-3 marauders and some scifi zombie/mutants are on the table for today.

Yeah, it has put a dent in my painting time having to scratch-build weapons for each one individually, and I haven't even got started on the dozen shields I need yet!

Right, 9 Pikemen (Pikedwarves?) done but sans shield, 3 Kingsguard (elites with big axes) ready for priming. Now to get the shields done... Should be fun.

I'm sculpting (yay), but not updating blogs/online galleries like I REALLY should be doing (boo)
On the more current hobby projects I'm starting up my one year (well most of it) army project (Jan 15th - Nov 15th), with the goal
of having a full 1500pt Kings of War army ready for the next Mantic open day, and if all goes well enter it into the tournament and
Army on Parade display competition.
Very exciting stuff, I really should start up a Dakka blog, Oh wait... yeah, thats what I meant to be doing right now.
Well anyway heres a quick mock-up shot of my future Ratfolk army (counts as Twilight Kin):
Just a mock-up, no details, just testing the overall shapes and conversion concepts.

I took part (using a borrowed helturkey) in a mini Skies of Death dog fight tourney today. Turns out any flier than can hover has a massive advantage. So the next time they run something like that it needs a lot of balancing.
Heldrakes are nasty.
Ork flyers did very very poorly today. I don't have a Hive Crone, so nobody got to play against it.

Found an old church model set in the garage. It probably belonged to my grandfather, who was a bit of a model train guy. I'd like to try to put it together, but the pieces are all a bit battered and there's no guide.
Still pretty neat find, though. No one in my family ever throws any thing away.

Hah, you're still averaging more than 1 a day, which is very commendable, and I've yet to hit a painting doldrum. As soon as I do, there will be whole swathes of time for you to catch up as I stare at my backlog and mutter to myself about what to paint next!
