Got 2 rocket sides, Riptide and 4 FW marker drones done. Today we are playing a game at 2500 per side, two of my friends with Crimson Fists, and my brother and I with Tau and Eldar. Should be fun, we are just using fun list so no Taudar uber spam, or however its done...

For this weekend I am going to continue to work on my Imperial Guard, I need to have them finished by mid March for a personal goal.

Swat team for Fist Full Of Kung Fu have been matt varnished now and while I am not 100% happy with them (they could use some a drybrush highlight and I missed a spot on a gasmask lense) I have so much to do I am going to consider them done, at least for the time being I may do some little touch ups here and there later on when I am finishing painting the rest of the Squad and have the right colour paints already on my pallet.

Next up gonna see what is half painted in my KR case and try to finish it off.

As far as I know, I and the fiance placed another couple of possible golden ticket orders today...
Ordered the dice and the harlequin datacards, although being in the US, the cards won't show up for weeks.

Played my one recorded game for the escalation game this week. The only reason my 'nid prime didn't take out a bunch of blood angels..is the "captain?" went first. Init 7 vs Init 6..and he got the charge after I had to go assault the rhino...

Apparently I had my opponent sweating bullets most of the game....

And I need to get my fluff written for the first two weeks of the campaign.

Painted up 6 Haradrim Archers, not strictly part of the plan this month but oh well. Next up will probably be some Gondor Veterans, which should be simple enough.

Also converted a Shadowseer from an old High Elf mage I had lying around, but am stuck for a colourscheme for my small Harlequins detachment. Ideas?

I think I've settled on the Shadowseer scheme. Black, white, gold and silver (so lots of contrast), with only a very few bright spot colours. Keeps the striking nature of the Harlies, but isn't too fiddly and keeps them nicely grimdark. I'm sure it's not that original, but it works.

Oh! You heretic, you!

I think the Rohirrim are the best models in the entire LotR range.

The metal models can be a nightmare to clean though, especially the Outriders.

I need to buy 6 more of the Mounted Outriders, and have been stalking eBay for months with no success (someone keeps beating me to them when they show up).

It is so frustrating, because I just need 16 of them for my Rohirrim Army, and I have only 10 (not counting the two that make up commanders).

Don't get me wrong, the Rohirrim are great minis, and they can look amazing in the hands of a skilled painter. But something about them (not sure what) doesn't lend it to my 'wash-heavy tabletop standard' type of painting. Could be the large flat areas that cause pooling unless I'm very careful, or the fact that they are less uniform than, say, Uruks or Gondorians.

And I am actually cheating and using plastic Archers painted different as Outriders, as for the same points the Outriders are just straight up better, so the Archers would never see any use!

I liked the one cities of death buliding I built. I as gonna get one each of all of the kits and then the big combo-kit... then they jacked prices by 33% or better right before I put in the order... no thanks =/ Still neat stuff though. Part of the reason I stockpiled battlezones when Deadzone came out, I figured it was similar/possibly better.

I really like the corporation marines/vets/rangers. I like the armor and pouches. The guns are still a bit big for full-out true scale.. but close enough. And I really like the ranger helmets and jet packs.

Still swimming through bones2... Khanjira is at least as big as expected, it's great.

Yeah, they're a bit pricey, but I dunno. I just like the way they look. I'm considering either buying the Imperial city terrain board or the generic sci fi one from SWM. I want my own City of Death, dammit!

I'm definitely more of a fan of the Mantic Battlezones now than the Cities of Death.

It's worth saying that back in the day, it was a certain Mr Renton in Games Workshop that was the big proponent behind the Cities of Death terrain concept...

The mantic stuff is pretty, yeah, but it'd be something I'd use for Infinity. Actually... I am getting into Infinity... hmm... a future project, most definitely.

The battlezones are kind of weird. They fall between what I would use for GW and what I would use for Infinity. They're too clean and devoid of skulls for 40k, but they're not scifi-frou-frou enough for infinty except for frontier worlds. Which I guess is what they're used for in the Manticverse too.

I have battlezones though, so I'll be using them for everything

The 40k stuff is definitely nice though, fits the aesthetic and not too hard to assemble if you take your time.

I've been building a crapload of 4Ground terrain. It's the best laser cut MDF terrain I've worked with. Great products all around.

Working doors, sturdy, double walled construction, clever designs, good customer service.

I started building a Sarissa Precision kit the other day, having spent a ton of my time painting it beforehand, and I was like, 'WTF am I doing?'. No interior detail. 1/8th inch thick walls. Lasered on doors.

I've been spoiled.

Kirasu: Have we fallen so far that we are excited that GW is giving us the opportunity to spend 58$ for JUST the rules? Surprised it's not "Dataslate: Assault Phase"

AlexHolker: "The power loader is a forklift. The public doesn't complain about a forklift not having frontal armour protecting the crew compartment because the only enemy it is designed to face is the OHSA violation."

AlexHolker: "Allow me to put it this way: Paramount is Skynet, reboots are termination attempts, and your childhood is John Connor."
