I spent some time sorting out my next step for my escalation campaign list today. I also spent about 20 minutes reading rules, because Gdubs can't be bothered to properly write rules clearly in full for something simple in one place.

It doesn't help that I've spent about 8 months either playing kill teams most of the time, working on a different army, or painting/modeling. It's been a looong freaking time since I ran zoans in anything other than a unit of one.

And now I need to talk to the people who wrote the rules for our campaign at our local store, since that will affect how I split up my psykers...YAY!

Looks good

I've just undercoated my Ortegas for Malifaux, and will hopefully start painting them once I get back from my morning workout. I really should get on with my Deadzone Enforcers too, but Malifaux models are just so much more fun to paint!

Looking for fun articles on painting, tactics and wargaming? Are you after a new regular blog to follow? Are you a bit bored with nothing better to do?

If the answer to any of the above is 'well, I guess' you could probably do worse than read my blog! Regular wargaming posts, painting and discussions

I'm determined to crush the February portion of my year-long painting challenge today, got 14 models queued up and I'm looking to get 'em done. Only need 7 or so to finish the month so I'm looking to get ahead this time.

Putting together some of the 4Ground WW2 buildings which are absolutely lovely.

Painted an Imperial Fist Veteran Sergeant (Anvil Industry model), and I'm rather happy with the result. He ain't clean and he ain't pretty, but yellow looks so much better when you turn the weathering up to 11! Also did more than usual with his base, which has come out rather nicely.

Pics tomorrow!

They're the wrong sizes for my card sleeves too, which is rather odd to be honest.

Painting up a Khador army based around the Old Witch. She's put together a small group and is on the verge of getting in on some extra jacks I've had found in a shoebox.

Painting up a Pirate crew based around Cpt Morgan. Yarrr...

Painting up a Demon Prince plague guy for Nurgle, and his pet chaos spawn.

Then on to the next batch. I have some time, but not much in between the school stuff and work, and ...other stuff...

Question- DO those Star Wars armymen fit in with the FFG miniatures box set?

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

If you mean the single-pose-single-colour Star Wars Command toys, then I'm afraid not. However, they do paint up rather nicely, if you just want to paint some Star Wars stuff (the ships especially are rather nice models, all things told). Here's a scale shot with 28mm minis.

I do also have a ruleset written up for using them in a proper wargame, which I can PM you if you're interested.

Don't get me wrong, the Rohirrim are great minis, and they can look amazing in the hands of a skilled painter. But something about them (not sure what) doesn't lend it to my 'wash-heavy tabletop standard' type of painting. Could be the large flat areas that cause pooling unless I'm very careful, or the fact that they are less uniform than, say, Uruks or Gondorians.

And I am actually cheating and using plastic Archers painted different as Outriders, as for the same points the Outriders are just straight up better, so the Archers would never see any use!

I do know what you mean about the large areas that can cause difficulties with washes.

And... I have mixed in Mounted Archers with my "Outriders" (as I have multiply based figures, to be used with a different set of rules, for the most part).

But I would be doing the same thing for the SBG. Outriders are just too expensive now.

And I am working on detailing the bodies for my sculpts of the Archers for my Goblins.

They will still need clothing/armor when I am done, but the six body base-meshes will be done.

And... Painting four more Orcs/Great Goblins.

Work continues apace on the Imperial Fists, got another done earlier and a third is nearing completion. I've surprised myself by actually getting quite into basing these guys, moreso than just adding gravel and painting it. No idea how long the inspiration will last, but as is, I'm finding it quite interesting. Kind of wishing I had 32mm bases for these guys, but it would cost a bit much to do the lot.
