Built more of my toxicrene last night.

Going to go place some orders for a couple of books I've been wanting to get. Also going to pick up some stuff we ordered last week, probably spend the day working putting on together more 'nids.

Since December I've acquired the swarm box and the wrath of the hive mind...that's a lot of models.

I don't know if I want to drag everything down to the store to play a game, I've already got my one recorded game in for this week for the store campaign.

No work today meant going for a big hobby push, punctuated by video game breaks and a few spells of glorious, blameless sloth (you know how much sweeter the kind where you aren't actually supposed to be doing something else can be).

A text from the wife saying the in-laws' visit has been pushed up to tomorrow afternoon means that none of that time goes to my personal projects. I'll be painting a gift instead of my own models and cleaning every bit of the house except my hobby space. Such is life...

I ordered myself Eden's Dinosaur with a Wayland Games order.

And, lets face it, it's an awesome looking ship. However... One of the great things about the original Desolator was, if I alter the angle it's mounted on its base, it looks very much like a Reaper from Mass Effect.

I really don't know how I'm going to manage to echo that look with the Dinosaur.

Hmm. Yeah, not sure it's worth the pose if it doesn't have feet/claws to dangle down menacingly.

After tomorrow I have free time after work again so will work on my samurai again and will out together a 4 ground building.

Anyone have any suggestions for grassy or muddy gaming mats. Preferably not too expensive. 3*3 would probably be big enough but 4*4 would be fine too.

My gaming club recently ordered mats from http://www.gamemat.eu and they seem pretty darn good, though potentially distracting if you pick a particularly busy looking one.

The 6' by 4' grassy one looks awesome in the flesh though.

Working on a bodyguard for Primarch Vulkan. (scheduled for the 1 March on my painting table) So I am currently painting up some legion pyroclasts.

How does one have the head of the legion without the soul of the legion?

It's only right to have both.

Good luck to everyone on their painting goals.

Plugging away on Khanjira some more.

Filling gaps, shaving down overlaps and smoothing him out.

Loooking forward to seeing my gaming group's face when i plunk him down on the table.

They already had to deal with Cthullu showing up last campaign (had to use him when i got him from Bones 1) but Khanjira is so big you get the urge to convert up an IK or two to take him on

That would be an epic sight!* The DFG Levis are a dream to put together (gotta love a kit that comes with its own screwdriver!) and if you can get any kind of discount, even more worth it!

*Even more epic if you buiuld some kind of scenic base/diorama for the two, although that would be a huge undertaking!

So far, I've cut some foam for storage. As its my b'day, I get some guilt free hobby time, so the plan is to finish clearing my hobby space, finish my last debris marker for x-wing and make a start on the March painting challenge.

Tonight i will mostly be cocking about with my shiny new telescope. My wife is awesome.

It's a saturday, so off to the shop later. It's the next step up in our escalation campaign today. Time to bring in the flyrant.

I don't feel like painting today, so I'll probably get some more models built out of the wrath of the hive mind box, and see if I can get some games in.

I wrote my fluff last night and sent it in.

It's been SOO long since I got to throw some polyhedral dice...gonna throw down with 5th ed D&D tonight, and (if the weather doesn't cancel it) dark heresy tomorrow. Gonna be a fun weekend.

Well firstly an order which I thought wouldn't turn up for two months appear today. I base coated the Eureka figures which came in it, but have set them aside till I can finish the current lot of Stalkers. So today's been spent painting up two sets of fences (currently just base coated) and primarily working on a crashed Hind gunship. As I'm more concerned about finishing off enough stuff for a game on Tuesday the terrain's taking presidence. Hopefully I can have the Hind done by then at least, as it'll be nice to have something showy for the first game of Stalker I run. If I can however be done with that terrain by tomorrow I'll work on some more Stalkers, but I can settle for what I have already if I need to make do for the game. =P

Ack, Hind why do you have to be so damn huge? I've spent all damn day just giving you two coats of paint. I haven't even started on the bloody details or base yet. ¬¬

Working on the Wolf Lord for the comp. The model itself is about 70% done, the base is started and I have yet to decide if I want to give him a banner or not. He's coming along quite nicely, and I am close to going on a Space Wolf Clean-Up-And-Base crusade.

Going to head to the hobby shop and have them order Lysander and pick up a scout squad. After that I'm going to start the process of putting together the Sevrin Loth kit that just arrived, and I'll probably finish up by making more progress painting my dreadknight and centurion dev. squad. Still can't get the wash over yellow paint quite right!

FINALLY actually playing a game.

A 15mm Lord of the Rings Miniature game (about to discover the forces) using the unpublished rules by Frank Chadwick called Ancient Conquest (they were supposed to be published by Foundry in 2006-2007).

But we have adopted it for fantasy.

Oh... And trying to finish my Hithaeglir Goblins/Orcs

Nice. A bit jelly you could find a Slave 1 on short notice, they still don't seem to have restocked them hereabouts.

I totally ordered the most wanted, hwk-290, starviper, and scyk. I won't truck with the Aggressor though, any big ship designed to be taken in pairs is just money grubbing to my sensibilities.

Thanks for the photo, makes me glad I ordered the HWK-290.

It's ok, I'm currently working on building all of my Infinity PanO dudes, all 13 of them. Which is decidedly more than the 7 that came with icestorm =/

They'll go up on the shame shelf/todo-board along with my 8 or so not-even-counting-the-starter-box Qapu Khalqi =/

Don't be too jealous. - The only Scum things I bought was the Most Wanted set and the Starviper. The rest all came from my other fleets that I've had for some time.

The main reason I went for it, was the newly updated rules I read last night.

"Multiple Faction Ships
Most Wanted
All pilot cards and ship tokens in a player’s squad must belong to the same faction. If a player’s ship has different versions in more than one faction, he or she may use any version of that ship’s model and dial in his or her squad.
Multiple Ship Example: Scott is fielding a Scum & Villainy squad consisting of four Z-95 Headhunters and one Firespray. His Firespray model and dial are from the Imperial Firespray expansion, two of his Z-95 Headhunter models and dials are from the Rebel Z-95 expansion, and the final two of his Z-95 Headhunter models and dials are from the Scum & Villainy Most Wanted expansion. However, all of his pilot cards and ship tokens are from the Scum & Villainy faction.""

Are the dials really any different? I mean, I don't see why that part should matter...

The dials determine the ship's manueverability and which moves it can make. It can make a difference

Nope, the only difference on them is the design. So, it's pretty much a great move from FFG to do it.

Why's Slave 1 so over sized? Its like it was made to be part of a completely different line of models, or is that just what I'm missing? Bleh, whatever. Those bases always seemed so finicky to me, and a rather obtuse way of limiting what models could be used. Ah, but I'll leave griping on that game for elsewhere.
