Assembled a few Cryx casters: pDeneghra, pSkarre, Mortenebra, and the Witch Coven.
All metal. Not much fun. Mortenebra is a pain to assemble.

Most likely having a hobby party like last night. Four buddies assembling and painting Malifaux while I slap paint on my Bolt Action stuff in time for an event next week.

After cleaning off the laser, that is. Pressure washing is important.

Gotta run down to the shop so I can get my white dwarf. Gonna paint some more today. (And I have to decide what I want to enter into Para's contest and remember to take pictures before I get too far ahead of myself). If it's not windy, I want to get primer on some more models.

Might bring enough models down to get a game in, but we'll see.

Thanks for the support, guys. He's fast become the hospital favorite (smooth little bastard - everyone loves him, from receptionists to the resident vets) and we're hearing good news... it just becomes harder to believe the third consecutive time. Still, I'm more optimistic about recovery in terms of his health than I am of our finances.

On topic: Just clipped and cleaned another ten bases and am about to run them through the drilling jig. Hoping to install their magnets (which will fill all remaining gaps in the horde tray) and shift to prepping the models that go on them. Two more bodies and five spear arms cleaned and glued will just about fill the second rank, marking the halfway point on this unit (for assembly, at least).

Granted, some of my assembled troops will be moved to other units, later. I plan to replace some snap-fit models with the multi-part variants to better mix up the poses, as well as adding some fillers to help me increase the overall army size. Since I only have so many movement trays already built and am going assembly-heavy before I break out the paints, I find filling in the blocks gives a nice, neat measure of progress.

I've just had my first game of Star Wars Armada, which finally turned up from Amazon!

It's fun, but seems a bit weird. Basically, we played the starter game and did sweet feth all damage to each other by the round limit.

I'm not sure how to read that... you did a lot or not a lot?

Ogling the Deadzone:Infestation kickstarter... oww my wallet...

Ordered another 100 1/4"x1/16" magnets, and 500 ball bearings of assorted sizes. Gonna get serious about assembling my enforcers and my heart is set on ball-socket magnets for the arms and probably heads.

May also investigate the ball-socket mounts for x-wing ships.

The models would be the easy part. The rules... Hmn, something involving rolling a dice to see how many actions Jacket has a turn. Those actions let him move x number of squares in a room/shoot/etc. If the Mafia player has anyone left alive in a room and Jacket's out of dice then there's a chance he'll be shot. ...Or something. I'll ah think about it, maybe just have a Mask as a model for 7Tv (or rather when they make their 80s expansion).

The bikers that I'm making are now Great Khans. They could fit that aesthetic better, but meh, I could make them a bit more extreme if I make more.

Might build my new Bloodthirster or FREE Glotkin!

Well that just begs the question doesn't it, how'd you get a FREE glotkin, TTW? Did you slip/trip/fall in your local GW?

Here's the last thing to grace my work desk:

My frind who owns a store owed me a $100 favor. I told him I was cashing it in by taking the Glotkin off his shelf (price of cost, he was making out like a bandit). He didn't argue. Lol

I called the favor in from four years ago. Dwarves hold grudges, I hold favors!

I'm actually considering converting it to a GUO. Got an extra Soul Grinder sword hand that would probably convert easily onto the cannon arm.

Just about decided on my entry for this month's challenge: a trio of Chaos Marines, doing the best I can to actually look Chaotic rather than just spikey. I'm a tad limited by the older kit, but between that, a Bitz Box and possibly some green stuff, I should be able to realise my vision, which is basically to Chaos what Grim's OTT-Marines are too Loyalists.

Got a game of 40k in today. While I was at the store I picked up a box of ironbreakers for a mordheim warband and am putting them together now. Also got a Garden of Morr and may start on that tonight as well.

Its been a good day...

No work today, so I'll be sprinkling little bits of hobby over a glorious spread of inactivity.

Filled the rest of the horde tray with magnetized bases and am about to clean and assemble the last spearman of the first half of the unit (I miscounted and needed two more models).

The drilling jig worked perfectly, but I just realized that it's completely unnecessary. Mantic bases come on a sprue - I could easily just hold the whole thing, eyeball the hole positions, and drill them out before I clip them off. The three connection points are strong enough to resist the force of drilling, even if the hole in the table is too big to support the edges of the bases, individually. Oh well. The jig was quick to build and made from scraps, so I only wasted a few minutes, in the end.

Not sure where to go once I plug that last spearman into his base. I could keep pushing forward on that assembly, start building some multi-pose spearmen and/or archers, or I could switch gears and try to finish off the painting of those Forge Fathers. Perhaps a break and some food will settle my mind...

[edit:] Hobby ADD strikes again! Built one multi-part spearman and quite liked the results. Naturally, that meant putting the elves aside to start cleaning up some Sedition Wars models. Why make steady and measurable progress when you can frustrate yourself infinitely with restic models?

Tried to build my second Wyvern today, only to discover that the 5 ml of glue I had left was mostly air, and what wasn't air was dried. So that plan died almost instantly.

Speaking of dying, I'm doing the rounds for basecoating some of my IG troopers. But they keep falling off their bases, due to insufficient glue in earlier construction attempts.

Damn you, easter!

Painting MORE Dire Avengers for meh Eldar, but didn't have the right blue for the job. My only base colour blue was Kantor Blue that i use for my Crimson Fists and that was way too dark. Have to wait till tomorrow to get Macragge Blue (as much as i hate Ultramarines! ). Looking forward to an Apocalypse Game soon so I'm preparing for that too.

I'm having another run through of this before bed.

As only the box set is out in the UK now (and even then, just barely), up to 6 of us are going to get together at the gaming club on Monday to do a team battle to make up a normal sized game.

Found lone trooper in the stripping tub, still covered in clumpy paint. Already threw away the filthy acetone.

Yesterday was uncharacteristically productive. I don't have all that much to show for it, but I worked through the entire Suffocation discography - I was at it for hours, all told (took plenty of breaks, here and there, but spent most of the day up here).

Let me just say, the Sedition Wars models are lovely sculpts (if a tad repetitive). The production quality, though... Ugh. Warped parts galore, abysmal fit (even on apparently straight pieces), all the usual troubles of restic, mold lines in awkward places... Took all those hours of work just to get five troopers ready for primer and I'm not even bothering to fill minor gaps!

Have a batch of the basic gribblies out on the cutting mat to tackle next - the nine of them will likely represent a few days' work, even if I keep a good deal of momentum. I value my money more than my time, but $30 for the box isn't seeming like such a great deal, anymore. I'm not calculating hours spent at minimum wage, or anything, but I feel like I might mentally sue myself at the end of this for pain and suffering damages.
