What are you using to write it?
I should do a Python Library for wargaming.
Some languages would probably lend themselves more readily to this than others.
MB Automatically Appended Next Post: And... I am FINALLY getting back to sculpting work on the Goblins/Orcs, and Gondorians and Foradan Rhovanians.
And... Working on an Army List for Dol Goldur. Werewolves, Spider Swarms, and Undead from the many battles in the region (Sauron - The Necromancer had The Dead Marshes, the Undeeps, The Gladden Fields, and the Battles of the Orcs and Dwarves to draw from for bodies for undead - skeletons and ghouls - not to mention wights and other "spirits" to use as a form of psychic/psychological warfare).
Of course, he would only have used this army once, during the assault on Dol Goldur by the White Council.
Previously, it would have been just isolated incidents of undead preying upon travelers, or Lothlórien (where skirmishes at the borders would have occurred). It is likely that Lórien was Sauron - The Necromancer's actual target, but that he was attacked pre-emptively, prior to having assembled everything.
But.... Back to Mudbox and testing my chainmail stamp. I think I am going to have to unwrap my UVs to get the stamp to work, and apply it as a flood fill.

Got rid of all my Deadzone and Kings of War stuff this weekend in order to justify starting Planetfall. The game is just beer & pretzels enough, I really like the models and since there's already a small-ish community I don't have to be game ambassador to get people to play.
Built the frame and cardstock bunkers that come with the starter box for Planetfall this evening. Had to watch a fan-made video in German to get the general idea since Spartan hasn't put out any suggestions/instruction sheet on these.
Finished the Aquan alien force a couple days ago:
Tomorrow I'll work on the Directorate army and hopefully have that all done by this weekend.

Just got a big hunk of forgeworld stuff in the post, I'm giddy as a school girl. Their stuff is amazing, so detailed! Can't wait to paint it.
Any tips on cleaning up resin and prepping it?

Warm soapy water, let the resin pieces soak for a bit then gently brush them down to remove any remaining residue. There are some guides on Dakka if you run a quick search. What goodies did you get?

Thanks. Will have a dig in the how to section before I do anything to them.
I got myself a Raven guard upgrade kit so some shoulder pads, weapons, back packs etc. then also some raven guard rhino doors, and some transfers. Finally I got a MkIV command set. Going to use the main guy as a captain, and then the upgraded marines and the standard bearer to form a command squad.

Sounds like a nice haul, bet you can't wait to get stuck in.

Looks great!
Thanks, I'm really chuffed with it. I knew to expect quality from reading up on forgeworld, but the detail is really quite striking. GW makes some great models, but this takes things to another level. Really looking forward to getting stuck in like you say, have one or two things to finish off before I'm going to let myself though. Have a Razorback and magnetisation to sort out, but then the doors will be going on that. And once I'm done with my bikes and landspeeder I will tackle the command squad and what's going to be my Captain.

Plastiville why do you have to make buildings that have interiors that are so small? Hmph, I was attempting to give three of their caravans interiors, but realised that there wasn't any point as there wouldn't be any room to fit actual models. Ah well, they look decent enough.
Today was the monthly "let's walk down the street seeing how many people bump into me day" when I go to the craft store and buy a load of balsa wood then attempt to make it home with it without some dumbass snapping it in half.

Still waiting for Wrath of Ashardalon (damn you, Royal Mail!) so I tackled a mini I've been meaning to paint for a while now; the old LotR Balin. Quite a nice sculpt to work on actually, and I was inspired to go and do some more Dwarves...
Until I remembered that the LotR era Dwarf plastics are faceless, formless lumps with less detail than some green army men! Oh well, I may see what I can do with them, I may just do the couple of other metal Dwarves I have.

Was playing around with some bits. Bought an eisenkern accessory sprue months ago but have only been able to utilize some of the bits as the aesthetic didn't always match up to the models in question. Then I dug up my older edition skaven...
I think it... kind of works? Arms are a bit long and the hands are much smaller than the skaven feet but... sort of kind of works?
Kind of fun to build though the DFG bits are really fiddly to assemble.

I also have one of those old Balin minis (and it was one of the first minis I ever painted!). And yes, I remember thinking that the details were lacking in the dwarf kits (but I did get 24 rangers in one box; I miss those days!).
As for what I did today, I worked on my Khorne Flesh Hounds ( WIP pics in May painting contest thread and my P&M blog), and bought a Soul Grinder kit(discounted, yay!). I've heard that Soul Grinders are one of the hardest minis to actually paint, so wish me luck!

Pondering the workings of Mordor Society.
What sort of stratification existed within Orc Society that allowed Sauron to maintain armies of Hundreds of Thousands of Orcs (aside from the millions of human slaves around the Sea of Núrnen)?
And what sort of organization existed within the armies of Mordor (since there seems to have been several different command structures and population centers having their own command centers)?

The Dwarf Rangers are one of the few LotR plastics I never had, and ironically, one of the coolest, I think! I just wish the warriors were as good, or that the admittedly awesome Hobbit era Dwarves were cheaper... I may end up getting another box or two of those for Balin to lead to reclaim Moria. Automatically Appended Next Post: Royal Mail remain Royal Fail today, so in desperation I have actually primed up a few LotR Dwarves... They aren't that awful; hardly on par with most of the rest of the range, and making me wish I'd got some of the better metal ones, but I might be able to get them presentable. I've got enough for one and a half Warbands for LotR or 2 Regiments (1 melee, 1 Archers) for KoW, so we shall see where they end up...

Doing a massive overhaul of my gaming room.

I'm also slimming down my model count a tad, so I'll be deciding which armies to keep and which to sell off to fund other projects

I went all out trying to kill my Rebels in tonight's game of Imperial Assault.
Including, due to various nasty tricksiness, having The Dark Lord himself turning up at the end of turn 3...
Unfortunately I don't have a way to get my pictures online, but by the end of the game, I had 9 Stormtroopers, Darth Vader and an Imperial officer on the board, with Vader having defeated the former Jedi Apprentice Diala Passal and Force Choked the Rebel Veteran, Fenn Signis.
Meanwhile, the horde of Stormtroopers had wounded Gaarkhan into a bloody mess, with the only Rebel relatively unscathed by the end, being the smuggler Jyn Odan. However...
With one final blast, the building rumbles around you, heavy stone fragments raining down from above.
The only choices become staying inside as the structure collapses, fighting your way out, or... surrendering.
Charging outside, you're ready to put up the fight of your lives... Until you see just how many Imperial troops stand waiting outside. Several dozen blasters are pointed in your direction, and surrender becomes your only option....

Started to get used to making smaller tentacles, but I'm happy with where I got to in bulking up my Magos.

Wrath of Ashardalon is finally here, and after a couple of hours work, everything is de-mold-lined, the cards/tiles punched out and sorted, and I'm almost sure what I think of it.
The card components are all very nice; not quite Space Hulk levels of detail/durability, but they look good and feel like they'll stand up to play and packing well enough. For some reason, though, there are many, many HP tokens... Testament to the difficulty of the game?
The minis are a mixed bag, but I've certainly seen worse, and there are actually a few really nice ones in there. At some point before painting, I'll see about doing some reposing and weapon swaps to reduce the duplication of the baddies.
Pretty happy with it on the whole! Off to paint I go! Automatically Appended Next Post: Having now delved twice into the dungeon, only to have my head unceremoniously stoved in both times, I have to say the rules are solid too. Simple mechanically, but very fun, and fast playing. Once the traps, monsters and encounters start adding up it can get lethal, but that's all part of the fun.
