Found some Lego 'Quatro' blocks at thrift store. They're basically toddler lego and are chunky square and rectangular pieces with pegs nearly the size of a quarter wide and blocks that measure anywhere from 2-5" or so. In other words, big chunky blocks.

Have been sawing off the joiner/pegs and making 10mm bunkers and buildings for Planetfall. Gonna use Krylon paint for plastics and add hatches, roof bits, etc. and prep them up properly.

For $3 I've got about 5 decent, appropriately sized objective buildings.

I am a bad, bad man.

Whatever I last said I was going to get done was probably a lie. There's been a lot of inactivity and a smattering of woodwork/tool modification and sharpening, but not a minute of miniature work.

If I'm coming back, I'm going to do it right, this time. You heard it here, folks: The workbench cleanup is happening, in earnest! Picked up 14 small-ish (6qt - a bit smaller than a shoebox), stackable, clear plastic tubs to serve as 'discrete project boxes' - places to store painting-in-progress models, parts and sub-assemblies of scratchbuilds and larger, more complex model kits, etc. A few of those will be set aside for storage of overflow supplies (two, so far, for basing materials, one for oil and airbrush mediums and cleaners), as well. I have nine filled and five more to go, but I'm already seeing more table surface than I have in quite some time. Hopefully, a clearer workspace and the ability to simply pick a (clearly [rimshot] identifiable) box and get stuck in will help me get back into the swing of things. If this doesn't do it, I'm afraid that nothing short of quitting my job and developing an amphetamine addiction would!

I'm about to watch this game of Star Trek: Attack Wing.

It does look like they're going all out, they're setting up what looks like a 6' by 3' board.

I bought some of Studio Miniature's the Walking Dead models at a show recently. However I'm not too happy with the Rick Grimes one (he's too scraggly looking, I think they were going for that part just after the Prison where he's comatosed), so I'm sculpting on his iconic coat and giving the guy some more hair (he's balding pretty badly too for some reason). I'll see how he turns out, and after that maybe I'll give reposing the Glenn model a go too, as I don't like how he's holding his gun at all.

Buildings are finished. Used duct tape on some of the horizontal joins, granny grating for gratings and some of the hex platformer bits I had left over for the hatches/other gubbins.
Everything's drying from it's rust treatment but it's done.

Tonight hoping to get in some Planetfall at the FLGS.

Empty tubs continue to be filled. Areas of the workbench that haven't seen light for months (if not years) are emerging.

I wish you luck with not falling into the same pitfall that I usally do: clear the space then fill it again with more half started projects.

Just incase buy some more tubs.

Watched/managed a couple of games of x-wing at the local library game day. In a crowded environment where it's harder to focus, I'm just as happy helping people keep track of abilities and tokens as I am playing. I need a bit less going on to focus, plus there were enough players to have even sides if I didn't participate.

Gonna look into painting some Imperial Assault models today.

Gonna prime the AT-ST right now.

Giant stompy robot is giant and stompy!

So, after last weeks mission where our brave Rebel heroes got the living heck beaten out of them by Darth Vader, they've now been captured and placed in a cell.

Fortunately, a mysterious voice managed to open the cell door, giving them a chance to escape.
First things first, the Rebels heroes had to make a race for the equipment cache (the black crate).

Which went well enough, to be fair, although the smuggler Jyn Odan got wounded off the bat. The err, problem came up, what to do AFTER they got their weapons. They needed to get to the other corridor, unfortunately, there were some enemies standing in the way...

Some enemies.

And that's... Kinda how it ended really.

The rebels got completely penned in the top corner there by legions and legions of stormtroopers until they eventually fell, and got captured once more and transported to the Spice Mines of Kessel.

Weeks later, Rogue Squadron performed a daring raid to rescue some high ranking officials from Kessel. Fortunately, there was room in the shuttle for these guys too.

They've won a few missions, but yeah, they're having a bit of a time of it. I think the problem is, they tend to make a few very bad decisions at the start of the game which snowball into a total disaster.

For example, in this one, they left Jyn Odan, the smuggler, who is the least tough member of the force in the cell and visible to enemy fire. This basically let me run a stormtrooper in and, well, gun her down.

A better choice would have been to ensure Jyn was properly protect, then use her second to make a run for her equipment. Jyn's main strength is responding to enemy actions. So, for example, if she's armed, she can potentially immediately shoot back at someone activating near her. Or, alternatively shoot back at someone who just shot at her.

This would have meant that, once she had her equipment, I would have been much warier about shooting at her and probably would have gone for attacking an unarmed party member instead.

Gonna work some more on my Bloodletters of Khorne. I've got seven more left in the box to assemble, and I plan to start painting some of the ones from the other box I assembled and primed a while ago. If I make progress I'll probably post some pics in my P&M blog. Not sure when my FLGS is going to have another tournament; I just need to have my Daemonkin stuff assembled by then!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Just got finished painting these guys:

Nothing fancy but they get the job done. They ought to look fairly better after a dip too. I've got 5 of the heroes and Luke on my table as well, though I'll be painting those individually. Everything else is gonna get a pass from the airbrush for the basecoat at least before I go at them with the brushes.

Working on some 28mm Frenchists for various games, based for skirmish with trays to be added when there are enough of them to justify it..

Also priming more 15mm WW2 stuff for a D-Day landing game next weekend, some Russians for a tournament a bit later next month, oh and a pair of 1:600 WW1 bi-planes have been primed, though I need to work out exactly what they actually are so as to work out what colours to put over the primer.

On holiday all week to get stuff ready for a few events so hoping to make a bit of progress, the Frenchists are a nice break from WW2 dull colours
