Struggle how to pose an Tau XV-9 suit. After few attempts, I decided to drill a hole and put the model on a flying base. That made the positioning of the legs so much easier.

Those FW models are fiddlier than a fiddler crab i swear.

I feel like all you need to do is turn the torso so he doesnt look like he is shooting a passing bird. (make him look like he is backing up instead)

In a half an hour my Space Wolfs are facing of against the hordes of the deranged Blood Pact, I suspect a literal tidealwave of heretics and strange consrtructs. But I am prepared, first time I am fielding a talon of Contemptor dreads! Beside those I bring very litle in the way of cheese. Its the standard of four ten man grey hunter squads, a wolf lord and a retuine of Thunder wolf cavalry and a long fang squad alongside a Rune priest and some blood claws

Hmm, looking forward to your Oblivion stuff Wyrmalla.

Space wolves ehh? I kind of want to round up all of my space wolf bits (not many) and put together 5-10 wolf-dudes. I'm not really up on the lore/rules for them, just space marines with wolf parts. I'd have to be a heretic and paint them the darker grey color scheme too. Think I may eventually do that with all of my marines (or leave them in boxen forevermore)-- paint up 2-3 small units as kind of a warband that may or may not ever get used for anything. I've got 10 tacticals, 6 scouts, a rhino, and a dreadnought in a DIY scheme, may do similar batches for other chapters, why not...

But for today... probably gonna try to drag some hobby stuff down into the basement workroom. Not sure if I'll get any painting done but getting stuff in place will help future productivity. Gotta find my hot glue gun! Also probably gonna order a deal of the day infinity mini from Miniature Market, and possibly pull the trigger on a 90 dollar order from Litko to set myself up in clear acrylic bases for hopefully a few years.

I'm playing a 400 v 400 v 400 point X-Wing game today.

Apparently I'm fielding 12 ships by myself, including all 4 IG-88's.

Clearing out the first round of models that I made for Morrowind that're on my paint table and starting work on the second batch. At least now I have a plan for what models to make as I've actually written up a warband roster, whereas the first lot were just armed randomly till I found what stuck. =P

Trial and error. Luckily, the head is not glued yet. I tried few other 'directions to look', and I'll go for 'looking toward the other side'.

Played two AoS games with Khorne vs Eternals, approx. 50 wounds each, against two opponents.
We agreed that this game is no so bad and we will persue it further.
I'll expand both armies to achieve 100 wounds.

Oooh, those terminators do look pretty cool. Fancy paint work has a lot to do with it too.

I recognize that fantasy mini.. I think they used her to show off the terrain in the Battle Systems Fantasy kickstarter.

Today I'm painting some giant Nazi gorillas with giant jackhammers and incendiary weapons. Not for me, for a friend. He likes crazy gorilla stuff, I think.

Also moving stuff down into the hobby dungeon, and still trying to find that darn hot glue gun!

I would perhaps think about getting into AoS, as I love the new Stormcast Eternals (those are some damn fine models IMO), but I'm just not in a position to get into another game (especially at GW's prices). Even if I was, it would either be X-wing or Malifaux, which have a relatively low intro cost.
As for what I am doing today, I'm working on my Dark Angels Assault Marines some more. I probably need to get started on my Soul Grinder, but I'll get to that in the next day or two.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2023: 40 | Total models painted in 2024: 13 | Current main painting project: Dark Angels

Well, the cost for the starter box is fine.
I guess you can get one for rather cheap.

I already have that model bookmarked for future purchase, alas if only the rest of their range grabbed me like that one. =/

Today, as my paint brushes are gubbed, its more sculpting. Its hitting me now that if I want to run a summoner in Frostgrave that I'll have to make, on top of the 10 men in my warband, an additional six demon models. It'll be ages before I can actually play a game. =/

That looks like an impressive game Only 10 turns? I guess there weren't too many times a ship didn't have *any* targets so none of that 'chasing each other around an asteroid for days' stuff going on.

Gonna dip my gorillas, but they'll still need rust and a dull coat after that.

We decided to call the game at 1:25am.

I was a little saddened by it as my little Z95 who had been lugging his stolen cargo around all game at speed 2 was exactly y 1 turn away from the board edge.

A good time was had by all, but the scenario could do with some tweaks. If my ig88s were able to do more than 1 point of damage as turn, the Rebels would have had a real time of it.

You had all 4 right? I can imagine they were pretty formidable with all of the shared special rules.

Brush dipped the gorillas, now I'm gonna seal my bones knight/paladin without dipping to see if the sealer is responsible for making the finished models tacky... I'll dip something else I've painted later and do a bit of a side by side. No point in doing any more dip+krylon seal as I *know* that causes tackiness.

They were tough to kill (still had 2 left at the end). Not too deadly with my dice rolls though.

The standouts were my 'most wanted' ships. The Z95s and the ywings

Yeah, its almost a shame that the best/most useful scum ships are those that already existed. Who knows, maybe that new not-an-x-wing khiraz of whatever fighter will be a standout, and maybe the houndstooth..

Sheesh, I need to play some x-wing one of these days..

Tough Traitorous Guardsman

i have five things on the go atm.

A unit of tactical terminators for my Steel Guard chapter.

An almost finished Battle Masters Chaos Lord. Really enjoyed painting this ancient miniature.

Huron Blackheart - about half way through, painting him in Astral Claws colours... it's a lovely miniature, but I'm painting the metal one, I imagine that in finecast it's not so satisfying.

An Ork-Genestealer Hybrid! Once he's done my OGH Freebooter Squad will be done.

Finally I've got a tactical squad on the go too. I love painting Space Marines!
