Hot water! Dunk them into hot (near boiling, I think you can safely use boiling too but I prefer not to burn the crap out of myself!) water. Pull them out one at a time and reposition them to your liking. Once you've got what you're looking for, dunk them into cold water or just stick them under the cold tap.

It's not bullet proof, but it helps fix some problems or modify some poses. You may have to treat particularly stubborn models more than once.

The bonus is that this also takes care of your washing phase (and washing new bones really helps with that first coat of paint ).

Adding more paint to my Soul Grinder. Tomorrow, I will be playing some games of 40k with a couple of guys, using my KhorneKin army and trying out Cypher's formation. Since there will be three of us, I may end up sitting out for a spell while the other two play at some point, so I'll probably take my Soul Grinder parts and my painting stuff and get some work done at the game shop.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

I mean not trying to be a downer just talking myself out of it. They do look neat and from what I've heard it's a fun game. I guess it helps when you take a wider look at the range and realize that they aren't *all* 20 bucks a pop and the 4-packs are actually closer to 10 bucks a head. So maybe I retract my former statements, a bit. Also Killer Frost, yowza.

What do you need in terms of terrain, terrain seems important to batman thematically.

Dipped some stuff, need to paint some more stuff though.

Yeah I think they might be charging more to offset the low number the licence cost probably factors in to that as well. I can totally understand it putting you off though.

Not as much terrain as you might think. As it's always night, most models can only see 20cm so you don't need a ton of LoS blocking stuff, more Scatter like benches, bins, crates and such and a few taller building to add height. DZ and even Infinity stuff work perfectly well at a pinch.

I can see why you're trying to talk yourself out of it, I did for a long time and it was only when I knew I would have an opponent to actually play the game that I bit the bullet. I'm happy with the price for something that's both paintable and playable, just not for a mini that's only on shelf duty. Over here, the character minis are around the same price as basic X-wing ships, and to me, even as a Star Wars nut that's not even a choice. Throw in free rules and I ended up with two full teams for less than I paid for Icestorm, which I'm happy with.

But yeah, if you're not going to get to play, then Infinity gives you cheaper models that are just as nice from a painting/display standpoint. The KM stuff is nice, but no nicer than the recent Infinity stuff.

I tried to do something new today, actually sculpting something with Greenstuff, as opposed to just gap filling with it, which is what I've only used it for pretty much my whole life.

I'm not going for the Arkham / Knight Models colour scheme for Two Face, instead something.... else.

No painting done today, but I did play and win another BMG game, again with the League and this time having the satisfaction of slaying Robin with Ninjas, counterbalanced somewhat by the fact that Ra's spent most of the game to kill a pair of cops worth less than half his points, getting beaten mostly to death in the process. Agent Ron dueled the grand master for four rounds, truncheon-to-sword, before Ra's even landed a telling blow!

Going to try and swap sides tomorrow, I'm looking forward to taking Batman for a spin.

I think I've decided on my next 'wave' of purchases as well; a Bane starter gives me more options for the League and a new crew to start, and Deathstroke adds a real heavy hitter to either.

Apparently the 'tittan Bane' is the single most difficult model to assemble in the range.

I've been doing a little airbrushing myself today. For some reason I was foolish enough to say, "hey, airbrushing skin, lets have a go."

Not a wise idea. Not a wise idea at all.

I'm still trying to put off the situation of, "ok, so, I've used this whole liquid mask thing on the models, how do I get it off now that I'm done, without taking the paint away with it."

Happy enough with how they turned out, pretty fast to do, will be better now some actual glazing medium has, finally, arrived.

That cottage is sublime. Going to pretend I never saw it

I determined that liquid mask was just not going to work out for me. I think you need to wash the models first and make sure you've got a really strongly-adhering basecoat if you even think to attempt using it.

Today, I'd like to knock out a regiment base and get some snotlings on it to make my first rebased KoW Smurf regiment. The snotlings are painted up but I still need to get several orclings ready to fill in (as smurflings obvs) the obvious gaps on the base. I think I'll go out to the driveway and fetch a couple of filler-rocks (boulders!) as well.

I really need to get my second sputnik finished so I can paint both of them.

GrimDork, score the edges of the mask with a brand new sharp blade before removing it. Then gently pester it off with something like a toothpick. Hope that helps a little.

Took the Doom boardgame down to MK Wargames Workshop boardgames day again. Two more marines fell to the minions of hell. Then played Boss Monster for the first time, which was fun. Finished by rebasing some more of my lizardmen into KoW units and priming Martian Dredd.

Heha! Yeah, think my mind is set on them. I agree it's worth it too -I'm looking at the diversity of the details and quality of the places and come to the conclusion that I could spend 100 hours scratch building one of those houses...and it still wouldn't be as good as the Tabletop World Stuff. Ideally I'd take the whole set, but gonna have to leave out 2 or 3 of the buildings from my order. Happy enough with that.

Another BMG game today, and a loss for me with Batman. It was a darn close thing (27-29 going into the final round), and would have remained so until a Knocked Out Talia stood up and put a sword through Batman himself against all odds! With her needing 5s to hit, 5s to wound and 3 wounds from 4 dice to then get through a 5+ save, I figured Bats could go all out on attack with nothing in defence and come out intact, but the dice betrayed me at the last moment. Had he remained alive to contest the objective I would have won by a single point, but alas, twas not to be.

On the plus side, Agent Ron held his own against Ra's again! At this point, I'm going to need to rename him 'Bane of the Demon'!

you also get a free building when your order reaches £XX...

I'll stop.

Seriously if you'd like some high res pictures before committing, I could probably help you out there. I believe we have the inn, the two different houses and a mansion(?)... Considering I bought them for christmas presents, I should really know, it's just been a long day.

after a nice post-work nap, i'm getting to work on a cygnar battlebox.
i'm planning to use this as loaner for my friends that want to learn, so i'm playing around with a dark blue color scheme instead of the lighter blue and white i use for my actual cygnar force

There is not this idea.

Got my Kobolds fixed up, now I'm working on a vague idea for AoS.

Basically, I was trying to think of what an "unaligned" human group might look like in the setting. The idea I came up with is that there's some humans who fled into deep caverns to get away from chaos/evil dudes/assorted nonsense.

Down there they met the kobold type people, who are trying to survive being attacked by Skaven. The two groups end up working together in order to survive. So cave dwelling humans and cave dog people. Both groups are weak, but would give each other abilities when deployed together.

Rather than order, chaos, death or destruction, they would be about "survival"

It's a vague idea, like I said. Just messing around.

My opponent played very slowly and once moved his caster back and forth.
