Playing World of Tanks as I go back and forth between my painting desk and the PC.

So far today I've finished painting 1 Zombicide survivor, trying to finish another one and it's Zombivivor counterpart - and then hopefully the last of the Dog Companions. Might even get in a game of Zombicide as well in a little while.

Might try and do the rope belts on the Night Goblins I've been taking to work, and a little bit of work on a couple of Slanngor, some Dwarven Slayers and an Orc champion.

These came out pretty good

Unfortunately, the tips of the cannons didn't quite survive removal from the mould, but that's probably an easy fix. Now I just need to sand the bottoms flat and paint them, and I'll have a cute little snowspeeder squadron. Here's a photo with the original...

In a few hours I am going to work on the remaining IG I have. Then later this evening my brother and my friend are going to stop over for a bit of a painting party. My brother is going to be working on some Dragoons for a Napoleon era army, My friend will work on his Warmachine and I will work on my Guard and Cygnar.

In future, you can put brass or plastic rod inside areas like this. Some miniature companies do it when their figures have long gun barrels.

Today I'm drilling a canopy.

Got a quiet bank holiday Sunday, so going to try and polish off my second unit of Shoota Boyz, and some Clanrats for AoS. I made my gf hide the Shokk Attack Gun I bought myself last week, with instructions to not tell me where it is til I've finished the above. So if all goes well, might start building that too.

Gonna try to put some effort into my LoER/dakka(unofficial) painting challenge entries. Down to the painting right now which means it may go fast or slow depending on what kind of time makes itself available today.

Actually enjoying working with metal minis again in a perverse sort of way. Harmony (left) was a pain in the arse to put together. Her head, arms and dagger case were all separate pieces. I had to pin her head in the end after it came off with the lightest of touches. Mallet (right) was also pretty tricky. You have to twist the handle of hammer so that the arms match up to the slots. I then had to pin his left arm as well, so it was pretty satisfying when it all came together.

Played my newly painted Soul Grinder's first game today. Due to the store closing early for a staff meeting, we had to quit early and I lost by like 1 point (we were playing Maelstrom of War). The Soul Grinder only killed one model: a Mutilator. His scatter was terrible all game, and my opponent's models (he was running a Thousand Sons army with lots of Obliterators and Mutilators w/Mark of Tzeentch) kept making their saves.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

On Friday night (and Saturday morning, we finished at 2:30am!)

It was a *huge* game. - One issue I had was I was simply forgetting to use units as the night went on.

An Interceptor Intercepting an Interceptor intercepting an interceptor intercepting a bomber. - Interceptor inception!

The main Scourge assault group.

I screwed up making the terrain slightly, and ended up with a gigantically long road. So... Line of sight blocker!

Scourge Prowlers take out 2 Scimitar Heavy Tanks, after munching on my opponents Kodiak.

The game ended with my Scourge having a victory, with 6 Victory points against 4 and most of the UCM forces destroyed.

Painted 4 UCM Praetorian bases.

I'm not happy with how they turned out, but to be honest I have a lot of trouble painting the tiny details on 10mm size infantry so I'm not sure how I could have done any better.

Don't expect too much from Infantry at this scale. Just keep the painting neat - it's all you can do

Remember how I said in a post few pages ago that I'm waiting on a special model...
Well, it came in yesterday!
I was looking into some custom models for my Cadre and found his EBAY page and ordered one. It is a third party manufacturer, that does 'custom' resin minis of limited quantities. And it came in pretty quick (from Ukraine to USA in about 20 days).

28mm scale Tau model, with its custom base. All parts have tight fit, almost no mold lines, details are deep and well designed. I'm starting to work on it today, so I expect to have it done by tomorrow.

P.S. I'm not promoting him, or his work, but have a look. He does few other Chaos, Sisters of Battle and Tau models.

I just busted out these two paints, 18 years after I first bought them for a certain special model that they're just perfect for.

Discovered the joys of pinning while trying to put some Relics models together.. wonderfully well cast, amazing detail, combined with tiny contact points, heavy models with thin ankles and other similar features. Thankfully I have the drill and pins from a project making flight stands for 1:600 aircraft.

Also assembled 20 hormagaunts, then stood them back up again, and indeed again.

Varnished some 28mm metal WW2 Americans for a bank robbery next weekend, love an airbrush for varnishing.

Primed some of the Relics models.

Sorted my desk out so my better half can also do some painting, discovered VMC bottles are a few mm too high for the 4l 'really useful box', also discovered I now have more paints than I have places to store them

Stood some hormagaunts up, again,

Cleared up lots of bits of metal shavings from the table, started swearing as I removed a similar amount from my feet.

gave up for the day, noticed several hormagaunts face down, cried slightly, stood them up and left the room, heard one of them fall over again.

I went out of order and painted my Imperial Assault already but I need to go back and do my Mars Attacks stuff.

Looks very Judgey.

Dead figures and scenery are nice too, really digging the broken glass effect. May have to consider stealing it though I started with the cartoony blue they used for the stock stuff.

"He's a villain and a murderer... But every so often, you see a glimpse of the man he used to be..."

I planned on just starting him tonight, but 2 and a half hours later, I just kept going. - Think I'm maybe halfway done now? That charred / ruined suit is really frikking hard to paint, going to need to try doing the black again, I think.

As for what I am doing, I am doing the symbols on my Assault Marines' shoulder pads. So far, I've done a terrible job, but I think I can make them look ok once I clean them up a bit.

Of course he does.

Flip a coin, heads he gains an extra action point. Tails he *loses* an action point.

Well, I say that, but that wasn't good enough for me. So I went out and bought a double headed coin.

And put some washes on the other side.

The way I see it. Heads he *loses* an action point. Bad-heads he gains the extra action point.
