Started prepping stuff for my Chaos bases. Spiky and skull bits galore and a few possesed chaos marines were sacrificed to add a flamey and corrupted touch. An Icon of Khorne head being my favorite thing scavanged.

First time I got to use my new hobby knives too, enjoying them immensely, easy to control and a good variety.

Assembled five Cataphractii Termies from FW. Only the legs, heads, and torsos. I bought dual cc weapons from ebay. This will give me a unit of red butchers with two power axes each.

Finishing up 11 pieces of dungeon saga scenery to put me at 200 for the year. Less than 365, but more than nothing. Happy enough. May try to squeeze in a little more misc project time but there's a lot of house cleaning to do after the festivities.

Painted up six of the Zombicide Black Plauge zombies with the misses. We both would like to have the base game fully painted and it will be less of a chore with two of us working on it. They have been dipped and are drying atm. Only about 60 more + survivors to go.

With the new year approaching, meaning the start of my somewhat limited tournament season (I do four a year typically, all reasonably local) I dug out a blister of Soviet scouts and made a start, painting more or less done today, just need the varnishes tomorrow then sort out the bases and the PSC stand ins can retire to a deserved rest.

Of course still have stacks to do as part of a plan of retiring the PSC infantry for BF as I can get support units that go with them.

Also painted the bases of 10 termagants and started 4x BMP-1 APC for team yankee.

Need to step up a bit, have stacks to do for events next year.

Working on that long deferred dream of building my own 4x6 game table. Have got the top frame done, table legs and table top cut. Now have to attach the legs, cut the lower frame and shelf, put in the lower shelf, attach the casters, then cut and install the face boards that will also serve as a dice lip.

Hope to be playing games on it by Wednesday.

Oooh gaming table... Someday... Right now I've just got a 4x8' piece of medium grade plywood sitting atop an old dinky air hockey table. Works, but a true table would be neat too, so grats on living the dream

Finishing up 13 zombies today, why not. Gonna try to get one more enforcer peacekeeper done. May as well pad the 'models painted' statistic out as much as I can.

I am being a gadfly. Normally when I am painting, I pick at unit and hit it hard until it is finished.

I normally pick big units....30 boyz, 15 lootas...

But today I am flitting arround, bits of Mega Nobz, some Gitz, some Nobz...I have even started on the Battlewagonz and started rearrangind storage.

I've been watching the Star Wars: Rebels series.

Still not a fan of the animation style but it's not bad.

How is it relevant to hobbyness?

Well, the campaign I've been thinking of doing for the "Age of the Rebellion" rpg I was considering has ended up being annoyingly close to the general plotline / concept of the Rebels show...

Are you on to the second/current series yet? The animation gets much slicker there, as does the writing (though that's fine even in the first series, really).

Hiding behind terrain

Cleaned up my model desk and a few shelfs. Still got a few infinity models to assemble and a tonne of MDF crap I havent touched. Havent done anything in the hobby in months.

Im regretting buying any MDF terrain. I hate working with it. Got a pot of zinsser B.I.N to seal and make it white but havent got around to it. Wouldnt know which order to assemble or seal it either.

Really need to get it done, its taking up too much desk space. Still pretty tempted to just throw it all out and find something else for terrain.

That looks amazing. I'm building my forces this week but didn't think it would be possible to get that kind of poseability out of that model.

I shared some pics of my finished AoS in that project thread but thought I'd throw some additional ones here since I said I would when I was finished:

Same here. As a guy who buys the models solely as game pieces my feelings wouldn't have been hurt with monopose starter kit models.
Of course, I realize I'm not the target audience who want to have lots of pose options and customizability.

Good for blood effect practice though

Well hasslefree seems to have nailed that one. I've really got to stop kickstarting so much so I can set aside a small fund for a hasslefree order. A hundred bucks would go a long way towards getting everything they make that I *really* want, and would reduce the shipping over multiple small orders. Gotta have post apoc scooby doo crew and the stargate team someday...

Having finished off 30something models in the last few days I think I've exhausted all of my 'really quick to paint/finish' stuff that I've had prepped for awhile. I've still got a lot primed, and some of it will go quick, but as the year turns I plan to change gears from volume to.. well whatever else I'm aiming to do. Probably work on some of my already primed winter stock though, if I get a chance. May run by a game store today so there's a possibility I'll even stop in.

Same. Especially as they're now the UK stockist for Red Box Games minis as well. Just need to wait until I have a need for both Fantasy and some sci-fi stuff.
