Heard for the very first time through casual conversation on a OT thread about a possible AM codex update? Searching the news/rumors section and the Internet in general has yielded little to no information. I'd like to hear more, though.

Revel in the glory of the site's greatest thread or be edetid and baned!

I played the first half of the Star Wars Imperial Assault "Twin Shadows" mini campaign today.

Verena Talos seemed completely awesome and a badass.
Loku Ka-shoot-me-in-the-face seemed pretty cool too, those recon tokens and combat sensors combo are a beast.
Biv Bodhrik seemed pretty good but we couldn't help but ask "wouldn't Gaarkhan be better?"
Saska Taft... Was kinda useless. Well, not kinda, very much was useless. She seemed to be the weakest character I've seen played.

As the Imperial player, I went for the Precision Strike deck. Combining that with snowtroopers (yes, on Tatooine, but meh, sue me ), they seemed to be pretty darn good. They'd probably be kinda weak if it weren't for the 'reroll attacks' attachment I gave them.
Heavy Troopers, I wasn't too impressed with. Sure, they're like a more mobile E-Web in some ways but... Urgh. At least they were tough to kill.

I don't know how other peoples Imperial Assault campaigns go, but generally for me, units that specialise at being at very long range just don't work for me, as either the rebels are going to be running AT you, or they're going to be running away from
you round a corner.

Rodian Hired Guns are surprisingly handy wee jerks.
And the Fettmeister was pretty darn cool for the short time I used him too.

I also have 4 Scimitars, an Alexander, and 2 Cyclones that are waiting for it to warm up again so I can prime and paint before I assemble. I may be waiting a while.

I've been waiting for over a month to prime the parts to my Tau Stormsurge. Hoping we don't have to wait until spring...
Anyway, I'm putting the finishing touches on five of my Breachers, then I can get to work on the other five.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Played more X-wing against the AI, Luke+Y-wing vs Vader and 2 TIEs. First game, I called it quits after Vader one-shotted Luke on the second turn, on the second game I managed to make it all of 4 turns before Vader again mullered his son. The Advanced Targeting computer, combined with an Engine upgrade to keep him on their tail/at Range 1 is just brutal. I might try and recreate a bit of the Rebels series tomorrow, solo Vader against a full Rebel fleet and just see how he does...

Going to be spraying tonight, now that the weather has come back into the 30's. Maybe I'll spray some other minis, seeing as how we'll probably be snowed in these weekend.

I've been looking into terrain for Muskets & Tomahawks, and was thinking about how to build or where to buy cabins from.

And then I stumbled across these at the local craft store:

That really isn't bad at all. I did mine with slats of wood instead of the traditional log, but log cabins are totally a thing.

For the past week I have been trying to paint up what I have left for a 4k game at WHW on the 31st January. Where I am impressed at what I have accomplished so far I'm starting to realise that I am not going to get painted all that I want.

Having a target though is a good way to get through all of your outstanding stuff and some bits that I haven't used in ages are finally done. It's also nice to see that, where I am not a great painter at all, that I am improving and picking things up as I go.

This evening I will be trying to get through 5 Daemonettes and my final Plague Marine.

After that I have a GUO, a Defiler, 5 Plaguebearers and arms to attach and finish off and bases to do... oh dear ...

In the future I might just make one shoulder and then magnetize right below that for ease and less cost in shoulderpads

Did something of a 'bits box challenge' earlier, to see what I could come up with from only a pile of spares and some Green Stuff... I'll wait until they're painted before I consider them a success, but so far, so good; I've cobbled together a knight/adventurer type and his manservant, and some kind of Fire Elemental Spirit Thing...

I painted one Ork Boy, for a grand total of one painted Ork. But seeing as I've only had Guard till now, I guess this is the official christening of my second army.
