Probably more hobby regression than progress. Took to pieces some of the very few imperial guard that I had already assembled.

Chopped down one of the legs and removed some weapons of an obliterator I was trying to build from spares and scraps.

Just counted up how many parts it will take to finish 'accessorizing' my crisis suits... Gonna need 6 more shoulder hard points and then 24ish more magnets for each of the weapons. Whew.

Having so much fun with the white striking poses now though I don't mind the work.

I.... think... I might have finished painting Superman. Maybe...

Incidentally, still nowhere near brave enough to try to paint eyes.

Funnily enough, I've to repainted all the edge highlighting on the cape, as I tried doing the whole red glaze thing, which seemed to end up completely obliterating it all...

Started painting the obliterator I've been working on... only to realise there was a massive cavity that I had to fill with greenstuff and I had missed some of the many, many mould lines. Doh.

Is there a trick to priming greenstuff without spray in a way that the paint doesn't just rub off? I always find unless I spray prime paint rubs off greenstuff way too easily :(.

Does pre-priming with varnish work, or would that make things worse? How about a thin layer of super glue over the green once it sets?

Spoiler:

Pic of offending green stuff. How can I prime it without respraying or paint rubbing off?

Gluing together the last five of my new 15 man tactical squad for HH. I wish these minis came with more options for the basic bolter guys other than holding his bolter.. The 40k tac squad can have guys hold their knives, point at stuff and reload their gun.

Had another game of 40k with my HH force today, finally pulled out a win. The game was pretty slow (we ran out of time at the top of turn 3), but at that point it was pretty clear where things were going. My Tacs succeeded in pitting some Wraith long enough for some of my ally's Skitarri tech to kill the lot with an artefact that basically came down to 'take a toughness test or die horribly', the Contemptor Dread and Termies both survived intact, though they only just got into combat in the final turn we played, their shooting contributed a fair bit to the outcome too, somewhat surprisingly. Next week, we're doing X-wing and maybe one of Spartan Games' games, should be a nice change of pace after a few weeks of 40k.

To be honest, they can with a little conversion work, the necessary parts are there, but yeah, I would've appreciated a few more of the 'cool' bits from the 40k Tac squad, like the pointing arms, held knives and other stuff like that.

Working on finishing up a new 15mm alien sculpt for a potential new range.

They were inspired by the Prometheans from the Halo series. The model next to it for scale is one of Clearhorizon's Helldivers, it's about 17mm to the top of the head.

The small arms have been finished, but the pics were taken beforehand.

The large and small arms will be separate and have multiple weapon options. I'm also making some optional heads.

I'll need to some up with some ideas for vehicles or mechs for these guys.

Snapping the tiny, fine whip off a dark elf beastmaster, five minutes after it had survived the trip in a jiffy bag. Which then performed the same trick as all carpet-bound mini bits, and disappeared into thin air.

Blimey. That's fine work, especially for 15mm.

What's the medium? It looks suspiciously like brown stuff.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

@Ensis bwahahah. I forgot about that one

My minwax polyshades died. Sadface. Then I can't find the Tudor color locally. Double sadface. I ordered more, can't tell if they're phasing it out or if neither store that carries it in town felt the need to run that color (for whatever reason). Two weeks out though. I finish 90% of my models with the stuff so this is gonna put a couple of projects on hold. I'm gonna have to find some stuff that prefers a blackwash I guess.

I finished up a batch of Gargoyles yesterday and since I've painted 48 Tyranids so far this year I really need a break to paint something new.

So I've started work on some Bushido Temple models I got for Christmas. Kenko is almost done and rest of the starter will follow. Japanese skin is still a pain.

The brown/tan putty was discontinued, the brown/silver is still available. That's the putty Privateer Press uses in their P3 range.
