I have started getting more involved in the hobby again after a short hiatus.
I just finished some models that had been lying around my desk unfinished for a few months.
Ended up finishing 8 Byzantine warriors for SAGA, 5 Kislec horse archers and a few models for my frostgrave warband. I can safely say today was a good hobby day!

Building and painting two Slaanesh Hellflayers. After finishing building the second, I realized I can only run one in Killteam. Crap.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Finished off the contemptor. Stuck a whole load of transfer to him to make him look a little more interesting. If anyone is thinking about avoiding the text scripts from Betrayal at Calth, they are awesome. Pretty easy to snip into appropriate sizes and get to lay nice. Also, who knew those white wings from the Imperial Knights would work to blood angel-ify a contemptor (those giant greaves were too big to leave bare)?

I keep thinking his name should be Hermes for those wings.

I have had a really busy year and not been able to get any under coating done. Meanwhile, the plastic legions have grown. Today I made use of what might be the last day of English summer to catch up on all the under coating done...

- aprox 35 storm boyz - plus the leader
- 5 lootas
- aprox 40 boyz
- aprox 50 grots - hello Kill Team!
- entire contents of Deathwatch Overkill
- some Nurgles with swords
- some gaunts
- Imperial Bastion
- 4 battlewagons
- Aegis defence line
- two sets or Ork barricades
- Weirdboy
-Ghazkull
- Ork Kommando boss- forgot the name
- the Tau from Kill Team

I normally collect Orks so am super-excited about collecting KT size forces from other codexes

This will set me up for lots of painting..all the way through to next summer hopefully.

I also need to get a lot of the stuff magnetised. The elites and stormboyz are all done but there is a lot to do - especially the fragile models.

After that, I want them table top ready.

Terrain! I finally finished my Eternity Stair, I have to finish painting up my GW Woods which I have been neglecting for awhile.

In addition I have some MDF board, Polystrene and Foamcore I've slowly gathered up so I can try my hand at some scratch built ruined buildings.

Sorting some Nids out for an Apoc game on the 24th, will as is traditional make the list on the 23rd.

Tonights job was adding dilute PVA to the bases to soak and seal them, after putting the mixed herb scatter on last night and assembling on Saturday.

Hopefully Friday night will see priming and Saturday the other base colours and wash, just the bases to paint and the dry brushing to do next week on a fair few of them...

- Tyrant (forge world arms)
- 10x gargoyles
- 4x warriors
- 12x ripper bases
- 3x forge world big spore mine thingies
- 1x lictor

Sadly the extra Raveners won't make it in time, nor will the zillions of spore mines..

Fun little models really

Packed away all the undercoated stuff from yesterday, well most of it.

Decided to start getting paint on some Orks. I have loads of boyz done already so I thought I would start on some of the bosses.

Got a base of Waaagh! on Ghazkhul, Boss Snikrot, Boss Zagstruk, a weird boy and 5 storm boyz.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get on some Leadbelcher and that will make them table ready!

Necrons, I loathe painting the Monolith and I have 2 of the bastards.
In my 15 years of playing 40K I've never actually played Necrons or really even painted them.
Uncharted territory for me.
Army is playable but I want one of those Lord tank thingies.

Owns Whole Set of Skullz Techpriests

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Cleaning up the room where all my gaming stuff is I found a box that a friend of my mother's had given her from some old stuff her son had. I'd never really looked at it but decided to take a peek inside. Interesting things to note:

1. Old plastic/metal hybrid Predator with all the vehicle accessories stuck to it. Painted black with flames. I thought that was odd, but it will become obvious why in a moment.
2. The original Captain Tycho, as in the "Blood Angel Captain" because he became Captain Tycho in White Dwarf 166.
3. A few random assault Marines (the old lead ones!). Again, black and flames.
4. The original Legion of the Damned Tactical Squad.

I was floored by the last one. Always wanted one, never got around to buying it ('cause I was a kid when it came out around the time the Ultramarine's Codex came out). All the painting is awful, but the minis are there. Sadly no Sergeant Centurius, but the old Vet Sergeant was in there.

Arrived at work to find a parcel containing paints (for KT Tau) and a sonic jewel cleaner waiting for me.

I have accumulated a stack of second hand painted models from ebay so it will be interesting to so how well it works on the plastic and metal minis in my 'strip the old paint and start again pile'.

Finished stripping the Dark Elves for my wife - for some reason the primer I used gave them this weird sandy texture.

Might poke away at my Sanguinary Guard for a friendly painting competition some friends and I are doing - but god do I hate painting gold.

Trying to find some sci-fi looking things... Not going well.
Writing up ideas and especially fluff some a (very comedic) space pirate game I had tossed around in my head.
Haven't come up with a good name for space cocaine yet.

Had to get away from painting Necrons.

Been running a Summer Campaign and needed 10 regular Chaos Marines. So, dug through the bit box and found 10 really old (1998?) plastic ones. You know the ones. Those old flat bottom torso ones! Painting them up Word Bearer style!

They have been sitting so long because I dreaded painting those oop models, but powered through...now attaching the bolters for final stretch!
