Just putting the finishing touches on this fella!
Honestly I'm so glad to be finished, I don't know how people handle anything much bigger than this, I'd be pulling my hair out.

Nice giant.
Felt the same with a shadowsword, was fun to build, at first, then a chore, painting it got very tedious. Wifyboo bought me a knight, took me a year to build and paint it, just find a normal 28mm model about manageable, larger gets tedious.
Ironically did a giant and enjoyed it, something about that model I liked doing

Batman tonight. Ra's Al Ghul got knocked down by a random penguin thug tonight as a result of a bad decision and a series of unprobable rolls. He never stood up again...
Final score, 32 victory points to penguin. 6 to the league of assassins. In a word. Ouch.
At least i did get points.

About Big models, do you guys use an airbrush or is it the paintbrush which makes it tedious?
I didn't get any bad feelings when painting my super heavies.

I didn't get any bad feelings when painting my super heavies.
Shadowsword was brush painted (camo applied by a sponge), didn't help the desert yellow needed three coats, took an age - have since bought an airbrush which would have allowed the thing to be painted in a few days, mostly waiting for paint to cure the actual time being a few hours of effort.
Issue with the big GW kits is the 'detail density' is the same as the smaller models on some of them, all just ends up looking a bit busy, suits some more than others.
Wouldn't do a large model with a brush again, the knight got sprayed - was doing the old 'storm lord' camo on it, got about a third of the way through and now its metallic red/gold/silver and "good enough"

Why dont you just use a hairdyrer to speed up paint cure time?

Going through the motions of making yari-style spears from aluminum florist wire. I've been trying to figure out how exactly to do this, since flattening with pliers seems impossible. The current method is hammering the wire on a steel plate. Not exactly great, although I'm going to give the Dremel a try to shape the spearheads.

Assembled an primed a forge-fiend, going to put him together using sub-assemblies to paint. Unsure on scheme for him as I want it to be part of a nurgle force. Debating between an olive green, something brighter or not even green. Going for the 3 ectoplasma cannon loadout as it reminds me of the giant warrior from Nausicaa. Mouth cannons FTW!

They too look pretty nice I have to say, not cheap for what they are but they are nice looking.
Tamiya do a set of fuel drums etc thats worth a look, more or less identical in size, and look good alongside the GW ones.
Have been wondering on the containers myself, more for the normal game but as you say, nice chunky scatter terrain

Wandered round local GW, a lot of muttering about the new version of 40k and what its 'bound to be' between staff and a few regulars, even got a nod that things are due to change soon - no details obviously.
Odd really, was considering getting the legions book, the mutterings on a new system that doesn't use the current codexes was a bit off putting and somewhat counter productive, final choice not to buy it was due to most of it seeming to be a traitors hate rules reprint..
Otherwise was just browsing, considered some Mk III marines but figured I have the prospero box unbuilt so didn't.. Need to order a few more steel bases...
I have actually started painting my 'masked men' for test of honour though White/green/red-brown
