To be fair, I think for a lot of people who have been waiting god-knows how many years for a decent set of miniatures for Aliens/Predator, the rules could be the worst ever written and it would still be lapped up.

@RiTides - those entry questions for the AvP site are hilarious!

Nah, rules aren't a problem, you can always turn to the net for an alternate set. But as said above, models, that's what it is all about IMHO.

Question, I'm pledged at the real aliens level where you get £105 in addons. Considering the Sergeant is £8.00 if we ended up with a few pounds leftover out of the £105 would we be allowed to add to it to use it up the leftover, say £2.00? This item is the only one that isn't £5.00, £10.00, £15.00 etc. so there would be some £ leftover. I hope I made sense.

I’m sure glad GW is going to all plastic, so the ever-rising cost of white metal won’t impact the cost of their miniatures.

In that case, you might want to add an extra £3 to your pledge total, to give yourself £5 that you can actually do something with

Presumably there will be a post-campaign pledge manager, as is the general pattern for Kickstarter's with a wide variety of possible add-ons. This generally goes hand in hand with being able to commit further funds to the project as well (and can be remarkably lucrative for the creators; many won't use this additional funding for further stretch goals, and get a greater percentage of it; KS and Amazon take ~10%, Paypal is more like 3% and a paltry fee (30-50 cents?)).

Not to insinuate there's anything wrong with this state of affairs; that's just how it is. Some campaigns will allow post KS funds to count towards stretch goals, some don't, but I haven't seen many big gaming KS's with a dozen add ons that didn't let people top up their pledge. Hell, they'd be crazy not to.

Thanks. This KS has somewhat confused me with the reserve of money within the pledge to be used for addons. I've never been in a KS that did this.

Mars Attacks did it. It had some confusion, but overall it was a pretty great idea. With a little refinement and very careful wording/presentation, I think its a fine way to give backers a flexible reward.

As far as I am concerned, there are only Space Jockeys in the franchise. No Engineers.

Still no answer as to which version of the alien warriors they'll be selling us, right?

Has there been any news yet on what the next pledge target, the 'Resin mission markers' might entail?

Am thinking possibly sat-uplink, a face-hugger victim, perhaps even Newt?! Might well give us a hint at what is around the corner in terms of gameplay actually..

Yes, it's a set of four Alien Egg Sacs.
It's in the latest update.

Slightly off topic but - I was looking at the Colonial Marine Technical manual and saw there are two different covers. Does anyone know what the difference is between them (apart from the cover art !).

From the look of it, the one with the dropship on the cover is a more current and up to date reprint.

Yeah, especially since in a meta sort of way, we know what the eggs do, removing a lot of the suspense, so they pose less of a threat really. Though they could make for fine objective markers in game, or something the Marines need to torch and the Preds need to secure for their future hunts.

Or make a room full of them the marines have to get through, if they open fire / flame the eggs it alerts aliens, if they don't some face huggers could surprise attack them

or even put them around maps with the chance for huggers to jump out of.

So far I'm liking the kickstarter, but would like to also know more about the game itsef, even a demo game video so we can see how it plays. Also now I feel the need to get my modular bunker terrain done. 6x4 of LV-625 Goodness with long corridors lots of rooms, and many many vents.

Ok I've been looking at the KS page and I can't make heads nor tails of the pledge levels.

If I back at the "payback time" level and I pay 125GBP, then what does the "+60GBP of Add-ons" mean? Do I have to pay an extra 60 quid to get all the extras? I don't understand what they're telling me...
Then then what does that all have to do with the "Anytime" pledge?

Can anyone explain this to me?

The 'Payback Time' level gives you the boxset game at a discounted price of £65 (£10 off full price), then you get £60 credit whioch you can spend on any of the add-ons. After that you get the freebies which are currently; 6 facehuggers; 1x add-on of your choice; 1 x Predator Berserker; 1 x free model of your choice. Plus you'll get any further free add-ons as / when they are hit...

So all this for £125...

The 'Anytime' pledge is also a freebie and is simply the digital version of the rules...

So the free add-on does basically mean any add-on, or is it another one of the various pick one offers?

So if they get to the Queen can I bag one for free?

Rules don't really matter, play area does (because honestly I want a ziggurat style pyramid ala Necron Tomb Citadel board. But the biggest thing would be find people to play with.

What's the standard table size for Infinity? Will it not be roughly the same as that?

I think that Necron tile does look promising.

I think this might be good for a corner piece for a larger board. The lack of Imperial icons and general less gothic aesthetic really makes me think of the Aliens colony, or a possibly USMC outpost.

Ok then. So let me see if I've got this straight.

Let's say I buy in at the Payback Time level, I would get...
The AVP miniatures game. (Rule book, minis, dice, blah blah blah)
A digital copy of the rule book (Anytime level pledge)
x6 free face huggers
x1 free berserker pred
x1 free item (from which I can choose between a Predalien, Sentry Guns or a Hellhound)
and then I'd also have 60GBP worth of credit that i could spend on things more facehuggers, various Xenomorphs, Female Pred, a marine sage, more cannon fodder colonial marines
PLUS also one free model of choice. (Since the KS just hit 165k.)

Am I about right there?

EDIT- I realise now just re-reading your post I just copied exactly what you said..... Should have read it a few more times before hitting reply.
