My FLGS down here in middle-of-nowhere USA finally got in the boxed copy I requested back in Aug? Nov?? when I thought the backer copies had started to roll out.

Are copies for backers (in the US) now starting to get out? Any sightings of the later waves in the US?

The box was smaller than I thought it would be, but it is heavy. Minis are smaller than I expected as well, but overall look WAAY better than my 90's Aliens metal minis, and are very nice by any measure.

It never ends well

IT'S HERE!!!!!!!

Received the boxed game (KS version), 2 Predator Berserkers, 2 Hellhounds, Power Loader, Queen, 2 Royal Guards, 20 Alien Warriors, 5 extra Stalkers, Predalien and Alien Egg Objectives.

Still waitng on the Wargame Rulebook, extra heads/weapons, 15 extra Marines, 4 Sentry Guns, Android Objectives, Facehuggers, Fempred, Youngbloods and Totem Objectives.

Everything looks to be in perfect condition at first glance.

I do, however, seem to be missing the rulebook, and strangely enough the contents list on the back of the box doesn't include a rulebook, neither is it pictured...

Well they're sending a replacement, so it's all good

Just a mispack I guess.

While I wait for the rules, has anyone got any suggestions for alternative rulesets to use these minis with? Needn't be a board game, any kind of skirmish/war game will do. I thought maybe using Plague/Alien and Enforcer/Marine profiles for Deadzone rules. Any other suggestions?

Personnally I'll play with In her Majesty's name rulebook : in 1870, my imperial japanese army will explore an island where there is actually a predator training land : big jungle, lost alien temple etc etc etc... ^^

I'll try to create some profiles to play with aliens at infinity (with my japanese sectorial army of course ^^)

Congrats Alex! Hopefully mine isn't too far behind. Still no tracking info though, so I'm guessing I'll be waiting...

Starship Troopers might be an apropos choice; I haven't played it myself (but do have the rulebook on the way finally), and the rules seem to be okay as a general opinion.

Stargrunt 2 seems to have an okay reputation as well, but Tomorrow's War not so much (although I did also finally order this rulebook too).

Forlorn Hope would work well:

http://www.victorypointgames.com/forlorn-hope.html

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/57803/forlorn-hope

Two Hour Wargames' has sci-fi rules that would work: http://www.twohourwargames.com/5150scifirules.html

There is a free set called Just Another Bug Hunt that would work: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/17952/just-another-bug-hunt

And Ganesha Games has 'Swatters' which again, is made for this type of thing: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/141855/swatters-large-scale-bug-hunting-miniatures-rules

EM-4's 'Combat Zone' has rules on the Combat Zone Chronicles web stuff for this.

An older rule set called Future Wars (I think) had rules for AvP type stuff too. Chris Peers was the author (I think) and the rules may still be available.

Let me know either by PM or in the thread you linked what you think about SST especially if you get a chance to try a game out (something I've yet to do unfortunately).

So after hearing Alex recieved his pledge, I began to get excited for mine (in spite of myself...) and so have been looking for it or any sign of it. I had a nagging feeling that without a tracking number I was no further ahead than I was last year, or the year before. So to easy my mind I sent Jarek an email asking for a tracking number. I recieved the tracking number today, and surprise surprise, they had just sent the shipping documents today. So in spite of the fact that they said it was shipped, obviously it hadn't been. I know I should have known better, I don't know how I keep getting my hopes up. I think its almost like an abusive relationship, where you justify their actions, or console yourself by saying that they have to see whats going on and change. Oh well, either way, I have the tracking number now, so at least I have some form of documented proof that something is happening. I'll be sure to update when I recieve it (whenever that happens...).

Hope you get it soon Grump!

I've had it sitting next to me on the couch since I got it so I can drool over the minis whenever the urge takes me...

I am pretty sure it means 'awaiting Prodos action', as in your part is done, it will eventually change to 'shipped' or 'partially shipped' when Prodos moves forward.

Maybe its old news, maybe it's been announced elsewhere,
"Prodos Games Ltd was set up on 24 Jan 2013 and has its registered office in Warwick. Its current status is listed as "Proposal to Strike Off" and it currently has 2 directors." "Prodos Games Ltd has no subsidiaries."
I didn't know what a "Proposal to Strike Off" meant. So I looked it up,
https://www.gov.uk/strike-off-your-company-from-companies-register/overview

Hopefully an announcement is that the UK "office" is closing and the poor sods in the UK without anything should still expect fulfilment by Febuary.

Its all been gone through about 4-6weeks back apparently its just because they filed some paperwork late . And nothing to worry about .

Just to be clear - "some paperwork" is their annual accounts, "late" is currently just under 3 months late and counting. According to Companies House, these still haven't been filed and the proposal to strike off is still active. The deadline for Prodos to respond to the strike off is Feb 29th (although I believe that in the real world no action takes place until 3 months after the notice, so March 29th). I wouldn't take Jarek's hand waving as this being "nothing to worry about" - it's certainly something that can be dealt with and sorted out fairly easily, but about a month has passed since Jarek said it would be dealt with and there's no evidence that this has happened. It may of course be happening behind the scenes and will show up on Companies House in plenty of time, but it's something I'll be keeping an eye on until the remainder of my goods are delivered. Prodos certainly seem to be delivering more in recent weeks than they have for sometime which is a good thing, but not keeping an eye on the legal business essentials could still screw them up.

Weren't the facehuggers supposed to come with the base game (about 6, if I remember right)?
