This. Its pretty much a complete rewrite of the rules.

Mostly because the rules were garbage like the rest of Prodos' service for this KS

Good that the rules are getting a re-write, there were some pretty serious issues with them.

Amused that they had to specify that Aliens are immune to their own acid blood. Is there anyone buying this who hasn't seen the films? I took it as a given, of course they can't be harmed in that way.

Alien spawned from face-huggered model is just ridiculous - insta-kill is the correct way to play it I think. And again, if you don't like the movies, why are you playing this game? (I guess an excuse to use the Predalien miniature?)

I just wanted to pop in and give a little feedback on Prodos' customer service. I had recently picked up all of the expansions available in retail after picking up the base game at a great discount at my FLGS. I was blown away by the detail of the miniatures. The expansion minis are of course great as well, but I had a few broken pieces. After filling out a quick form on their website and uploading a picture of the damage, I received a confirmation email. I now have all the perfect replacement pieces in hand after about a two week wait on shipping to the U.S.

That's not customer service . Customer service is making sure the customer doesn't get broken parts in the first place .

Arrived home to find my KS at the door. I have yet to check the contents to the previous email that gave me what I should have. Building will start while I wait for the new rules to be finalised & a PDF of it & the cards are produced. It has been a "Journey"

In the interests of transparency, I've just received my Shipment 1 "being partially sent" notification.

Recieved last Thursday. Not sure how many weeks separate the two dates. Anyways, a couple of points.
1) the bin bag packaging wasn't as bad as I feared. My "slimline" box came with a sacrificial cardboard box. The addon box was flattened but surprisingly nothing had broken.
2) all the minis appear well cast in grey stuff. It's a bit bendy but looks fine.
3) all my door holders came in blue, which is ok really.
4) none of the models require too much effort to clean up. Looks like I have more recent casts.
5) value for money wise, I think the alien warriors are great.
6) facehuggers were surprisingly good. There seem to be several sculpts but I recieved a good mix.

Not sure what may be remaining of my pledge, but if anything, it can't be much. However, I'm still waiting on another pledge. A pledge without the core game and with the Wargame rules instead.

Pretty amusing that AvP backers are getting their pledges now that the LOAD KS is over. Did the four remaining Prodos staffers find enough funds from these Prodos orders, or did something else happen?

Also could be that they've made enough revenue during their 30% off summer sale to expedite some of the orders they've been getting out slowly. Multiple factors, I'm sure.

From what I understand, yes. However, they are doing a whole slew of errata and may be making an updated PDF version available "soon".

It finally arrived. Once posted was trackable via the Polish courier and UPS.
Nice models. Well packages.
Short one facehugger base and no sight of the alternate USCM, but otherwise very nice - eventually.

With some free time coming up, I caved in and ordered from the store.

Doing so activated the emergency eject sequence on the USS Prodos, resulting in my package dropping from orbit.

Ironically, a really quick delivery. I thought I'd have to negotiate its release from their warehouse, or leave even more money in unmarked bills at a secret location. There was a little dust on the box lid, indicating it had been sitting there for months, waiting for my pennies.

Even the rubbish bag made it down unscathed. A quick check tells me that I've got the KS version (Phew) and everything looks to be present.(Phew)

Just the next wave stuff left. Typically, I ordered more of the alt+Marines and the variant heads etc, so I've only got the five from the box at the moment.

Have the Predator Spear Objective markers been released? They weren't on my shipping e-mail, but I didn't see them on the last unreleased list.

Can anyone recommend bases for the minis? I'm sure it's been discussed but my Search Fu has failed me :(

Just a relief to have something tangible in my paws. The minis do look great. A bit of cleaning up required, but nothing that looks too terrible. Next time, I'll just buy from the store though.

Battlesystems are just about to start shipping the boxes on their third KS. I got their first to go with AVP and I would still have been waiting for AVP, had I not ordered something.

Will the folks who have yet to receive anything be getting the v2.0 rulebook? Or will they be receiving an out of date book with their last dibs kickstarter rewards? I realize the number of those folks has been shrinking (finally) in recent months but it's a curious situation to get effectively an out of date product over a year after it hit retail that you funded three years earlier that already has a replacement out.

I can't speak officially, but seeing Prodos past behavior, I would not expect to see the new rulebook boxed in the set for some time.

I expect, even though they appear to assemble the boxed game in small batches, they will use existing printed stock. Even then, they probably have not "proofed" the new book at the printer. I suspect it will be 3+ months before they can even begin to consider including the new rulebook in the boxed set.

Hopefully they are smart enough that once they do they'll attach some sticker or notification of "Includes updated rulebook" right on the box.

So, what do we think to the updated rules then?

I think if Prodos ever sends me the rest of my stuff, who ever buys it all from me may as well download the new rules and use them.

Didn't something similar happen with Sedition Wars and an updated rulebook?

That was pretty messed up. They let us backers pay to add the new version to what got sent in the second wave if I recall correctly. But that 'new' version was already out dated when they sent it.

Yeah. We paid actual money for a 2nd Edition Sedition Wars rulebook (and unit cards) that was actually 1.1 rules with no scenario / game balance corrections incorporating basically no backer feedback. The cards forced an even greater bias for the monsters. Just awful and pathetic.

As a project, it's the most disappointing game I've backed.

@bubber. Thanks mate. It's been so long I'd forgotten who did the bases. That was them.

@Warboss. I just got my game this week, and it was the 1.2 rules. The box had a light dust covering, making me think it had been sitting around for quite a while. But perhaps, someone had opened it to at least put 1.2 in. I doubt, even if I had waited a couple of weeks before caving in, that I'd have had v2.0

@JohnHwangDD. I guess AvP is far from being alone. On the other hand my Battle Systems stuff is not far from arriving, and they are nothing short of excellent.
