That's a poorly designed version of noughts and crosses there. How can anyone win on a 2x2 grid?

It is a metaphore for many wargames - the winner is decided in the stage of determining who goes first.

At least it is more conclusive than the classic one where a draw is the default result.

6 players came for triumph&treachery so 2 games 3 each. My std vs seraphon and soulblight.

Prio rolls gave good vp feed for vampires and i got hit by both very inconveniently.

This was my highlight nuking 20 skeleton and 10 direwolves but then zombie dragon came and took my army off.

With army needing charges being tied up sucks. 2 mages blew up on spell attempts. Last 1 on last turn when i could secure 2nd place but boom and tied 2nd. Got crazy and tried tied win... tiebreaker would probably been on soulblight favour.

Some Bolt Action last night.
My US Army (white base coat) vs US Marines.
The objective was to retrieve the token in the center of the board & exit it off your own board edge.

My 2nd squad to pick up the token barely managed to avoid being assaulted & had to outrun air attacks (the Marine player kept failing to bring an airstrike on them) - but they made it!

Really the game was all about who got to the center the 1st & managed to survive hell being thrown at them for a solid round. I got lucky.

[Thumb - 20231117_201207.jpg]
Turn 1. Things coming in from reserve. Most of what the opponent had is out of site behind the buildings.

[Thumb - 20231117_212645.jpg]
Turn 4. Red squad races for the board edge with the objective, Marines surge up the street behind them completely ignoring the remnants of White squad

With the holiday coming up and some various people missing it was a slow day for a Saturday.

there was a single 10th ed game but i was busy and didn't get a pic of it.

then we had a new player trying out his custodes in 5th ed VS guard.

a couple classic battle tech games.

With the other planned games being pushed off to next weekend, i ended up with 3 battle tech games-book ends of the universe. with both a succession wars lance on lance battle where nearly everything died to chain ammo explosions.

to an ilclan battle of hells horse VS snow raven. i forgot to ake many pics of this one.

Then i did a training game for a new player 3070 era for clan on clan action

Finally managed to finish my 6th Campaign Turn of Five Parsecs from Home last night. I had bad luck setting up as I lost one character (Elandria, for the 2nd time) to being too depressed to take part in the battle, and then it turned out two characters (Dellenger and Torris) were separated and off the board until I can roll a 1-2 at the end of a round then they arrive on the edge of my board (which didn't happen until the 3rd round which was too little too late) I was against six enemy soldiers so outnumbered two to one basically the whole game.

I also didn't roll well on the Initiative. But this didn't stop my guys absolutely curb-stomping the enemy. Attelus alone killed three of the six, including the lieutenant, two in close combat. So, he's MVP much? Adelana managed to kill two as well with her Blast Rifle.

The badass trio. From left to right, it's Adelana, Attelus and Garrakson.

The truant duo Torris and Dellenger, and Elandria way back in the background.

MVP! MVP! MVP!

Campaign game all spiderfang vs std.

Quite a lucky win. Without double ever and t2 damage output whiffing hard it was looking super grim for spiderts. However on t4 std he managed to grasp defeat from jaws of victory as somehow therions failed to get 6 wounds past save and 4 chosen failed to do 4 damage to another big spider. 1 dies and mathemathically impossible to win...

Unusual to win with failed gs and opponent scoring theirs. Campaign scenario helped as i got 5-0 extra vp's from empowered objectives(though he got couple hold more as result).

Funny how spiderfangs are objectively bad but i'm on 100% winrate. Small sample size, luck and local meta.

My shaman general went down in blaze of glory doing 18mw and killing off unit of 2 varanguard before dying.

My Eldar ranger/wraithguard vs the GSC.
This was an odd game. Going into turn 4? We were tied 5-5.

Yes, you read that correctly.
This was due to units units dying, units failing battleshock & not having OC when/where needed, contested objectives, and drawing secondaries that just couldn't be achieved.
In the end though the GSC edged out the Eldar 49-35.

After playing Grimdark Future: Firefight with the Kids for my Miniature Gaming Club yesterday and getting slaughtered, I played my 8th Encounter of my Five Parsecs From Home campaign. I was on a new world now that was being engulfed in chaos, which I named Sortath. Attelus and his crew were on a Patron Mission to "Take Care" of some vigilantes who'd made a militia out of desperation to protect their town, but eventually, they became more extreme and became bandits for all intents and purposes. They attacked nearby settlements to burn pillage and steal supplies and would kill anyone who came too close to their town who wasn't one of them. Needless to say, Attelus and his team of veterans absolutely curb-stomped the Militia. I almost felt sorry for them; it was so bad, lol.

What the...? By any chance you wouldn't happen to have scoresheet showing what secondaries were drawn I would love to see what sort of crazy sequence led to that one

Even when I have been tabled t2 I have usually scored at least some secondaries...

I do not.
Even if I had saved the scrap paper we were recording scores on it wouldn't show anything but 2 columns of #s & the final tally. We never bother writing down the source of the pts.
There's no need. These are just casual games amongst friends.

If you have a 3D printer, you can download the CS miniatures (and PnP game expansion itself) *free* from the Crimson Scales game site!

Solo has you playing on hard mode. Barely made it alive. Maybe I should have noticed the 60gp we had at the start of the game we could have spent. 😛
You can buy from Amazon various steampunk cog bits. I recommend getting as small a size as possible. Half the bits I ordered are too large for basing.

Monsters from the Wildspire Monsters set.

Game #1 - 1k pts of my Eldar vs a Tau/Chaos Knight alliance. Ok, technically I had a SW ally. But he wasn't much help.... despite that we still beat the Tau/CKs in a close match vp wise.

Game #2 - my Eldar (2kpts) vs 2k pts of different SW.
Although this SW player lost very badly on VP, he did kill 50% of my army.

We played a 2v2 game of Grimdark Future: Firefight for the kids' miniature gaming club last night. I only got a couple of activations before a 4th kid arrived and took over my team, which was my own faction, Independent Inquisition, led by Attelus, made up of Karmen Kons, Adelana Helgen and Crusader dude, which was fighting alongside the Duck Knights against Havoc Brothers/Cultists and another Independent Inquisition team led by Arlathan Karkin with Inquisitorial Storm Troopers. I decided in this battle, Inquisitor Karkin had turned to Chaos (hence why he's fighting alongside them) and Attelus and his team were sent to put him down.

The kids had a ton of fun, and it was a real battle as they fought over the third objective as there were only three total, and each side controlled one each.

We got locally new guy showing interest to 40k. He's planning custodians but to get feel for 40k borrowed my nids. I took sisters figuring this is simple enough matchup without crazyness like tsons could give.

Tight game. Both could have won but couple keyrolls swung in my favour. In 1k games can be quite swingy.

Castigator's 1st outing was big success.

Poor sister squad had to charge broodlord and 2 stealers...unsurprisingly they died without doing single damage but scored secondary, denied primary and kept them in combat for 1 turn.
