It was a night of demo games. i have not gotten them out on the table in a while but since i recently picked up the mousepad mat it was time for a monsterpocalypse battle.
Terra khan VS his mechanical doppelganger.
As it usually is the game was very close with godzilla eeking out a win with only 2 health left.

Sadly my Cthulhu/Martians have only been on the table a handful of times.
Good to see some destruction happening.

Nice to see the game being played, even if I had to hunt pretty hard to find any actual PP models!

they are not that hard to find in my area but i knew what they were going for so i found some actual scale godzilla toys because it's more fun that way.
Odd note the paper mat had 2 less building zone squares than the new mat so i need to go get 2 more geocrapers terrain pieces.

I feel this difference of experience regarding avalaibility is easily explained by your respective flags displayed on here.
The game looks fun, but with no interest in my local group (That are more competitively inclined anyway) I couldn't get into it.

I know absolutely nothing about this game other than the fact that it has some cool minis. Been eying picking up Tritons and Zerkalo. Any good resources/reviews?

Well that's true of any game system, without a community to support it there usually is no interest. it is one of the self fulfilling problems with GW. they don't have the best game but they have the most supported so it gets all the attention.

. You can have up to 2 monsters ( i prefer 1 for speed of play)
and 15 support units of various types.
You have a limited number of white action dice to respawn untis every turn so the more units you have the more you have to watch your dice pool.
.you can mix and match monsters and faction support units so long as you stay with the faction block IE defenders VS destroyers
Of course the big draw is also the themed armies. they have a bunch to choose from ranging from king kong/godzilla types to super robots, martians and cuthulhu just to name a few.
The game itself is a block based board game/miniature game with destructible interactive terrain. they make actual resin terrain pieces for the buildings but i like the japanese geocrapers brand pre-painted terrain blocks.
Support units have 1 wound and can be endlessly respawned, victory is achieved by killing the enemy monster. all monsters have 12 wounds. a choice of regular attacks (usually range or melee) and a special melee power attack only usable under specific restrictions. the monsters all have a "power up" version when they get to half health.
The game takes about 20 minutes to play with 1 monster.

My flag is glitching. I have no idea why; I think it shows correctly sometimes but often doesn't. I'm in Oman.

I think that is what makes Mon Poc strong. I play with my kids and the big monster aspect and simple ruleset makes it a more family friendly game than most war games.

They are from a japanese city building tile system called geocraper that just happen to be the exact size for the monpoc mats.
