Oh wow, I had no idea you were new (ish). I found you as a licensed seller of Forest Dragon 10mm fantasy figures, and bought a few Despoiler (chaos) units and they're great. Nice quality, nice detail, nice price. Would recommend, thanks!

Matthew Leahy has sent us in a photo some exceptionally well painted forest dragon undead.
These prints are an example of our print quality and the level of detail the forest dragon minis have
I can't wait to see what he does with the rest of the army.
What do you think?
Meanwhile, the entire forest dragon range is available on our webstore under the 10mm heading at the top of the page.

Thanks sir
I have to say these are really nice prints, really wonderful detail. The sword is sort of half/half NNM. I used a metallic underlayer with opaque highlights, seemed to help it pop. I haven't painted 10mm since around 2001

Those really are stunning ... And I have to say, I am very happy with my Forest Dragon prints, the Despoilers I have are really amazing.
I have a question for you though: what do you use for basing 10mm? Much of my greenery seems scaled for 30mm, and might look "giant" for these wee guys. Any basing advice? (sorry, don't mean to hijack the McDougall Designs thread, but there's not many resources out there for the 10mm hobbyist!)

Not a problem in my book. You are asking a related question to the guy who painted them.

Most of my 10mm stuff is for Dropzone. I tend to use textured paint for the ground and dollar store green sponges as the shrubbery. Thin little slices could be ground cover plants, I imagine. I mostly trim them as the hedges for many small villages.

In this case I used a 'Blended Turf - Green Blend' flock from Woodland Scenic.
I attached the rear strip first, and painted the base behind the strip and directly in front of it (the middle of the base, as the front rank strip had not been glued in place yet) with a 50/50 mix of dark brown craft paint and Elmer's Glue, then sprinkled the flocking. I then glued in the front rank strip with Elmers, and painted/glued the area of the base in front of that strip, followed by more flocking so that it all fuses together.

Just finished up a few 'test' stands of the 10mm Despoilers, and boy - they're great. A friend of mine also printed me a few, and the ones from McDougall Designs were a bit crisper and sharper detailed (probably won't notice on the battlefield, but I noticed while looking at them under Optivisors - the magnifiers I use to paint up my minis these days)
Here are a few stands of the minis from McDougall Designs. Thanks for the suggestions above. I also attached one strip of minis, put down a little basing material (I used 4Ground Base Render paste) and let it dry, glued on the other strip(s), put down more paste, painted it all dark brown, dry brushed it with lighter brown, then used diluted white glue (Elmer's here in the US) to attach the grasses.

Good job- the basing looks ace. That paste method and variety of texture worked out really well!

I like thin bases, so I forgot to mention: these are based on thin steel bases from Shogun miniatures. Good stuff!

lol. For me, it's Contrast Paints to the rescue. Nice n easy!
Although these 10mm models are funny... There's enough detail to suck me in, making me think I have to be careful, detail-oriented, and paint within the lines...
But at 3 feet... spray, spray, sponge might just be the trick to getting an army to the table faster!

Really? I just saw your armada fleet. Very well put together.
Can I interest you in either a high elf or chivalric knight Navy?

I'm afraid I picked them up before I'd heard of your store, they are excellent models! I even reached out to Mr. Forest Dragon himself, to ask about future plans for other fleets (he reported they were a "fun" project, and likely don't sell as well as the Warmaster stuff - though he hinted that he was tinkering with a Dark Elf fleet that might get finished "someday").
