Beastmen were present in the Imperial Army before and during the HH, so having that is a possibility.

TBH the Legacy stuff (IIRC) has seen every single previous option for Legions and Mechanicus returned (despite claims to the contrary) so there is a good chance the C&M list will be the same.
I expect the Provenances to change again but I think the list will still be fine.

Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

For the UK peeps - I just noticed that wayland games have got quite a lot of heresy stuff in the pre-Black Friday sale, including liber Astartes and hereticus books, and the reference cards at 50% off, and most of the recent kits at 30% off, including the big AoD box.

£28 for a predator including p&p, is quite tempting…

Unsurprising. It's always been a very popular unit. Maybe they'll make an alternative straight Whirlwind turret as well?

WarCom wrote:The Rocket Barrage special rule gives these mobile ordnance platforms a reason to stay still and make the most of their 48” range. Salvos from stationary Scorpius Missile Launchers confer the Rending (4+) and Pinning special rules, resulting in a truly devastating combo.

This effect lasts until your next turn, so those Heavy Support Squads may find themselves on the receiving end of a spicy Return Fire reaction if they put their heads above the parapet.

So is WarCom wrong (again), or is it getting errata'd to be able to Return Fire?

Possibly, though there was a rumour (via Valrak I think) the next two models were this and the laser destroyer, so maybe not imminently.

I hope so, the Laser Destroyer would look great in my Armored Company.

Interesting how GW seems to be making a game revolving around tanks where tanks have the absolute worst rules out of anything.

Despoiler squads, Seeker squads, recon squads, breacher squads... let me play infantry. Every Black Library novel cover has infantry on it, barely any tanks. Evoke your setting with your dang models.

I’d like to see a proper retro turret for a whirlwind. Box and all. The scorpius looks nothing like the old versions while the predator and land raider are faithful recreations. I made a lovely whirlwind for a 40mm base and some spare rhino bits from an old white dwarf magazine back in the day, wonder if it’d still work now???

On the one hand, its yet another tank and the game flatly needs releases for the infantry squads, but I'm excited none-the-less.

I do want this one.

Though the design could use more bracing for the launchers. The front on view makes them look very wobbly.

Is it possible that they're getting the tanks out of the way first? My thought, which could be wrong was that since we now have a stupid scale disparity between MK6 and the rest of the plastic and resin Marines, perhaps they will rescale MK 3 & 4 along with a release in plastic of MK 2 & 5? So if they get all the tanks and cars out of the way first, it makes it much easier to just focus on infantry releases?

There's only two Deimos chassis left (Vindicators, Command Rhino) After that they might cover infantry and stuff like jetbikes.

Whirlwind Scorpius, glorious! Instabuy for me, doubles up as a "counts as whirwind" for 40K and matches the aesthetic of my beakie missile launchers.

But for the love of all things holy, where's the missing plastic infantry?

PS: Do you suppose this Scorpius launcher will also fit the plastic Sicaran chassis?

They sculpt in CAD files (or something similar). There aren't any dependencies that dictate a certain model type be done as a group. Nothing is 'easier,' its just X number of sprues per box for however many thousand boxes, then load up whatever is next in the queue.

Now, Marketing may want to do a big splash release of 'assault infantry' types (or whatever), but at this point the dribble of vehicles is rankling people more than anything (lets be honest, the 'two predators' didn't really need to be separate releases). And breaking them up more isn't going to help. There's quite a few sicaran variants after the vindicator, and a few more vehicles as well, so this could keep going for a couple more months. That doesn't strike me as a good idea.

Given how long we've gone without any sort of plastic "people" released for HH it looks like GW has anxiety over the scale change. In the case of bikes and speeders maybe they didn't want to decide between scaling up the whole model or cramming in an upscaled crew into old scaled seats, so they're just never updating the models.

I wonder how much the fact that all of the 30k vehicles that we've gotten so far can also be sold to 40k players factors into the focus on them.

Most 40k players I know refuse to buy anything that's not Primaris anymore and keep their collections mutually exclusive anyway.

Actually, there's one 40k faction that can use all of the plastic 30k vehicles (bar the Kratos), that I guarantee you are absolutely not "refusing to buy anything that's not Primaris".

I've seen that too, except for the vehicles because outside the Impulsor and new Speeders they're pretty ugly.

The current heresy releases very much seem to be geared towards existing players. Since we're already used to having to convert all of our marines from different boxes or already have our infantry for the most part, the plastic tanks are a god send and very exciting. For new players though I can understand that's it's really frustrating to not have plastic close combat sprues or boarding shields available yet. Jump packs are available in plastic but without the plastic marines for them it's a bit of converting or resin/printed models required to make them work.

Hopefully we'll see a return to infantry releases in a few months, but there's definitely a lot of love and excitement for the dreadnaughts and tanks getting released from the existing playerbase that I'm part of.

Plastic despoilers, jetbikes, and assault marines are definitely coming. It's just a case of when. Remember there's been a lot of issues with production and packaging so it may be that sprues arent yet at the numbers required for a launch or the boxes for the models aren't yet available. Since it's not a specialist games release they arent going to be releasing anything without packaging so that might be the holdup.

Not going to lie, the idea that GW has anxiety about the scale change while making the scale change and releasing even more new models (guard) in a new scale just... makes no sense whatsoever.

Any scale anxiety issues are in a subset of forum/reddit/facebook goers, and not much else.

This ^^^

I wouldn't be surprised if the number crunchers decided it would be a safer way to get some money out of 30k by releasing previously VERY EXPENSIVE resin tanks in plastic to help people expand their collections of the big things that maybe they were avoiding getting.

I'm sure more infantry is coming, but for new players it IS incredibly frustrating, unless you're Iron Warriors or something.

Raven Guard, Emperor's Children, Space Wolves, World Eaters, Sons of Horus, Blood Angels, White Scars, and Night Lords, practically half of the legions really need access to assault marines of the various types to operate properly, and most of the other legions can make good use of them as well, and yet here we are.

I for one refuse to convert the current tactical marines (spending double on parts) or get any of the resin assault marines (spending double on resin) when we know they *should* be coming out with a plastic assault marine kit soonish. The wait is frustrating, but cest la vie.

Dang, my Firstborn collection already has a Whirlwind (the old metal one on the plastic Mk Ic Rhino) so I don't have an excuse to buy a Scorpius, but I wish I did.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

All I know is that I've been building and painting more tanks in the last few months than I have in the last several years...and looks like I'll be buying more with the Scorpius.

Really, all I am looking for now in the vehicle range are the superheavies...I have a Fellblade and a Glaive from ages past, but a new plastic combo kit would be great.

After the vehicle run, I would love to see some assault marines, breachers and despoilers options available.
