If they made a Zone Mortalis starter with Marines and Solar, I'd give the game a try.

Solar Auxilia have looked incredibly cool since they came out. But being all-resin they were of course horrendously expensive.

Now though? Better material, better price, wider appeal.

With the added bonus of new fodder for Imperial Guard, Admech, and Necromunda figures. I think these will sell really well.

Imagine solar auxilia lasrifles come in boxes of 20 for like 80 bucks, similar to the space marines.

I could very much see guard players loading up on that instead of regular guardsmen just for the savings.

Are Heresy tacticals cheaper per model than 40k guardsmen? That's wild.

I could see them porting Auxilia into Guard, period...but depending upon the loadouts in boxes?

I imagine we'll get plastic versions of everything that's in Epic scale now. That "Heavy Sentinel" could be cool as a full-scale release.

Hopefully. The lesson of Krieg isn't that old. Far too few kits and limited poses (and HH in general suffers from the latter already).

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

I've seen one of those "enhanced" pictures of the banner bearer on Instagram, it's a Mk III Imperial Fist from presumably a command squad and presumably in plastic. But the Solar Auxilia are the really exciting part.

plus, besides SA infantry looking dope, those SA vehicles will be a godsend for many 40K guard players who prefer more "gothic" looking tanks. DKoK, Vostroyans, and so on..

Pretty sure there are no 40k rules for any of them aside from the Malcadors though. Don't recall seeing 40k stats for Dracosans or Auroxes, etc.

I have no doubt that GW already thought ahead on that and figured out a way to make SA minis harder or less attractive to use with 40k. The minis will be super monopose and only accept specific arms and heads to prevent guard players from kitbashing them. The box will only contain lasrifles, and there wont be any easy way to get them any of the special/heavy weapons you need for a guard army

I dont think they will make it hard for Astra Militarum to use SA models. They might even count on it to make them break even. How many guys will make huge infantry armies for the HH setting?
I might wrong though, dont know enough about the community to be honest, just dabble in a few games for fun.

I’ve always had an Idiot Idea in the back of my brain since I first clapped eyes on the Solar Auxilia.

And that idea is for a skirmish/small army take on Necromunda, but dealing with Rogue Traders. With the Solar Auxilia representing that a Rogue Trader will have enough cash that should they wish, they could have their own corps of Voidsmen.

Will be a bit disappointed if the command squad isn't in Mark VI, so hopefully it's an upgrade sprue/unit of mixed marks or that guy is a herald (though the latter seems unlikely as he looks pretty plain).

Happy for the Solar Auxilia fans.

I'd play that. I keep hoping they weave Gorkamorka into Necromunda expansions too.

How about models for Sisters of Silence that have rules but no models??
Hataeron guard for Custodes?
Legion specific praetors for legions that still don't have them.
Nope. Let's re-release stuff that has been available for several years, but in different format

Said different format is cheaper and easier to work with for many players.

They did it for marines. The cost a 20 man legion tactical squad + the upgrade kits needed for the tactical soecial/Heavy weapons costs more than just buying 2 40k tactical squads. The 30k marines have more utility as intercessors though most people still don't bother with converting them over because there's a few minor things like Sgt options that make them a bit annoying to do. Ironically, prior to 10th it was harder to convert because the variant bolters that intercessors had in 8th/9th meant that you couldn't easily keep your intercessors wysiwyg but that's since been standardized out of the rules.

Looking at the UK store tonight, Mk3 are £45 for 20, while Mk6 are £50 for 20 - so £22.50 or £25 for 10, depending on mark.

Cadians are £30 for 10, Death Korps are £37.50 for 10, and even Catachans are £22.50 for 10.

I'll acknowledge that the Guard squads do feature special weapons that the HH Marines don't, so when it comes to the Cadians, at least, YMMV as to which are the better value.

I'm not saying the SA will get rules for 40K, that ship has sailed (and resulted in me dropping 10th edition but I digress), but it wont be difficult to "counts as" the SA stuff into 40K IG

I suspect the vehicles will be priced similar to 40k guard ones and the infantry will be another 20 guys for 45/50 with specials in a separate pack again. It makes it so you can't just have a cheaper IG army using SA.

Ah, good point about the cost for special weapons. Forgot they dont include those in the new mkIII and mkVI since I used the old mk III as 40k grey hunters where they included some special weapons. Also, I forget some people dont have gathered loads of special weapons and bits for marines over the years
Anyway, its not quite the same thing with marines. Marines have enough market in HH to include different marks of armour, they dont need the 40k players bying in to them. My speculation was that Solar Auxilia, even thogh most people think they are really cool, will actually sell alot of infantry kits to the HH market alone. GW might expect potential Astra Militarum players to buy in tho the SA range (and therefor not make it to hard to just put your SA guys in the 40k AM ruleset)

I know that by now it's lore that's as old as sand... but everything should be able to have Rhinos xD. Marines, SA, militias, sisters, farmers.... everything xD

The real question is if these new dark angel guards are Fallen who have been forgiven, why are they primaris? As they are clearly in mk10 armour.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.
