Yea even with the discount box, Aux will struggle to be financially viable, without it I don't see many people getting into the faction who don't already have the resins anyway.

Damn, they look sick. I really hope the Aurox makes it to plastic. And the flyers! I have little hope for those, but I've always wanted a plastic Thunderbolt ever since that old Golden Daemon entry from the 90s.

Honestly, for the infantry, its a pretty terrible 'discount box.' There just aren't enough, even for minimal dipping a toe in.

On the other hand, I don't see the resins mattering for people who want to get into this faction. Overcoming the 'resin barrier' is part of the point of HH2.

I mean to say that without bundle discounts, Aux in plastic won't be meaningfully more financially accessible than it was in resin. Like... will people start an army that costs 2 grand if they didn't already when it cost 3 grand?

I'm thinking a box of SA infantry (still havent decided which kit) might be just the ticket I've been looking to kitbash my KT21 Navy Breachers with. I like some of the Navy Breacher details but the torsos are not to my liking, SA torso swaps might make all the difference for me. Been wanting to do the Breachers justice as I already have a Navy-themed Valkyrie almost built as well.

Another bash which might end up suitable for some SA bits will be my Starstriders. The specialist models all look great, but I've never loved the Navis lasgun troopers which are included

Ah yeah, another conversion idea: a Dracosan hull and that Necromunda tracked version of the Ridgehauler..

I think it’s probably meaningfully more financially accessible when the main troops go from £90 for 20 to £45ish.

If you buy several of these new battlegroup boxes from a discounter, I am quite sure you can push down the price a lot further..

Also, if the Dracosan kit that comes with the battlegroup shares several sprues with the Malcador, you might be able to snag the remaining bits from ebay and be able to make the dracosans Malcadors that way (?)

This would seem an ideal book to release the 28mm Warmaster Titan in, what with the Titandeath and all that.

Looking forward to two different ways to build a custom Legion. And hey, I just bought Iron Hands dice.

Not so much to this being a mandatory codex supplement for Solar Aux.

Y'all saying "finally" like they aren't going to make us wait another 3-6 months to be able to have a chance to buy the book. Of course, it'll sell out in 5 minutes like Siege of Cthoia did, and then it'll be another 3-6 month wait for most of us to be able to get a copy.

Good lord, I've been Americaned. I can assure that I am of good proper British stock.
But in all seriousness, Cthonia wasn't too hard to come by on this side of the pond in my experience. Got it fairly quickly not long after general release.

Bit bored of Beta Garmon. We'll shortly have BL, AT, LI, and HH books for it. Hopefully the book is of similar quality to Cthonia which was pretty solid overall

Titandeath is, but that isn't the entire conflict. It was a huge campaign Horus did as a feint, if I remember right. Multiple Legions present and fighting.

Maybe early heresy but late one was more of Dorn sending non-marine forces there(in particular titans in case their wide use on Earth would destroy the planet) to try to delay and buy time. Beta Garmon being vital link point. Don't hold it, Horus can't proceed to Earth so the longer Dorn could deny it to Horus the longer it would take for Horus reach Earth and longer the Guillimann & rest had time to arrive.

Titans were ideal to spend here for that as Dorn was reluctant to keep entire titan legion forces at Earth(due to worry what would happen to Earth if they were unleashed in full there. Maybe you win the war but lose the planet).

But yeah lots of activity there. Multiple planets, space battles, titans but also others. Blood Angels and White scar with their primarch defending against traitors led by Horus himself.

You could conceivably get the same results as a scale warmaster by employing a 4 year old to stomp around on the board for a bit. Might actually end up being cheaper too!

Warmaster would be too big to do reasonably in resin. Not quite impossible, but extremely unlikely.

On the other hand, Titandeath would be a good time to release plastic solar aux baneblades and shadowswords that LI pics have been teasing, a 28mm Dire Wolf titan, and a few more weapon options for the existing 28mm titans.

We also have seen the mystery army (minus the egg pattern sentinel) and teases of the sm command squad, so time for a new roadmap.

Judging from how misshapen they are I'd say those are resin.
