The heavy is just slowed design: why put prometheum tank in front? WHY?
Also, could it be that these are resin pre production models? I don't really see any of those atrocious plastic seam lines. Or maybe these were built really, really well.
As for how these will perform in game, if there's only multi laser, flamer, launcher and a single volkite..They aren't really killing anything. And they won't be line, so you can't spam them for t5/t6 harder to remove objective grabbers/campers.

I think I was expecting something closer to the old walking eggs, longer legs that would shoot over Marines kind of thing.

Seems fitting, considering the duck like qualities of those Sentinels

I actually like these. I think because the gun shield is big enough to protect the driver from the front it seems workable as a light vehicle. The AT-RT in Star Wars always seemed dumb because of no protection for the driver.

I’m really liking them.

They are fairly short, but they look the part for an infantry support weapons platform.

I mean, from the front they protect the occupant more than a scout sentinel. The Sola Aux one, not the starwars one that is.

Looks like that grenade launcher guy is going to be chronically short on ammo, with 6 shots (maybe 10 in some sort of linkage system). Doesn't look like there's any place to store another magazine, nor any backup weapon for the driver.

In any case, I wonder if anyone will convert these guys to have pistols and melee weapons.

I was thinking they looked more like the robots that's why I said Silent Running and not Ducktails.

Not a fan of the stubby legs, very Killa Kan to me. Guessing 48" Grenade Launcher?
Why only give it like 12 shots, no reloads? Promethium tank.. in front of armor plating, genius!

I think these look great. The stubby legs actually make sense - a lower profile means less chance of getting shot at, and more stability. While it looks a bit comical, it's also more practical. And it differentiates it more from the heavy version. But I agree with the comment about their questionable effectiveness (at least against Marines).

The fact that we have all these different walkers suggests that the SA are getting a pretty big range of models. I am looking forward to seeing the Ogryn Charonites.

So are the Hermes and the Aethon (?) on the same sprue or two kits?

Definitely not a fan of the Hermes, the front armor plate is much too small. Take a step to the right and you have a clear shot at the pilot.

Police in Cairo had these tiny little 3' wide pavise shields with the same practical issue. Bugged me there too.

The 2 variants are the Hermes and the Incursus. It says that both variants are in the kit.

I guess the shield on the Hermes is primarily to give the operator a sense of protection. It's not going to give him much actual protection from many of the weapons that were around in the Heresy. Much like many shielded weapons in real life (think of the M60 gunshields on an ACAV).

It's funny how the grenade launcher rounds have been painted (very skillfully) in olive drab with yellow lettering, as if they're for the US Army. It makes them immediately recognisable, but there's no reason they'd be in these colours.

The Aethon is the big boy, is that what you meant? Cos they’re definitely 2 kits. The 2 versions of the little one are one kit though, 2 models that can make either variant.

Thank you, yes, I mean Hermes and the other one.

And yeah I agree with whoever said it should have been the return of the Angry Egg Walker, this is just too squat, and doesn't really look fast.

The Necro Cawdor walkers, those look fast.

My understanding is that they are both the Hermes. The heavier one is an "Incursus pattern Hermes" or "Hermes Incursus", but still a Hermes.

My Problem with all of this is, that i am forced yet again to buy another book for units of a faction i allready bought the rules for, which will be not guaranteed to be available where i am.

This would be an amazing book to own, if I thought for one second I'd actually be able get my hands on one. It's a shame they're doing this as a limited edition.

Don't want to think about what they'll ask for this one.

Preparing the Invasion of Terra

He does Isstvan, does Thramas, gets captured, kills some people on Macragge, gets captured again, and then gets stuffed in a pod and shot into space.

It was either going to be Horus, Sanguinius or the Emperor on that cover, pretending otherwise is silly.
