There will be multiple other waves. (We are still waiting on multiple other TK units to go up for sale.)

Like how they are putting metal wolf rider heroes up with no wolf rider units for them to go into.

So I guess the marauder giant will be later?

They did specifically mention that it was going to be re-released.

I'm shocked by the accompanying release of older big 'uns! Ugh, I'm gonna lose so much money to this release lol. Glad I waited on getting a rock lobba for my 6th ed army because all the ones on ebay have been pretty steep.

Yeah but I don’t recall anyone playing it outside of storms or magic (apoc for old fantasy). Same for troll hag. Curious to see what both do.

Love those ogres.

Lets not forget the FW stuff back when Old World was around was basically hived off on the separate FW website and mostly still hidden under the whole "with opponents permission" and "rules in expansion books" kind of thing.

For the most part it was cool stuff, but I think less accepted in some ways than the 40K.

Fast forward and now all that is gone away and the FW stuff is getting core rulebook rules and is sold right alongside the regular. This should see it become way more common and popular.

Honestly its a good direction and makes me wonder if next edition of 40K, GW will just put ALL the rules in the codex. The rules are already in the app right alongside for most of the models

I wonder if they will ever rerelease the WFB arcane frogs that Forgeworld made. They don’t really belong to a specific army, so my hopes are dim.

Allegedly it doesn't have any special rules, it's just an another troll. Probably the same with the Giant.

“The second, the Bonegrinder Giant, is a towering model with an awesome profile to match, detailed in the new Arcane Journal.”

“Her hulking miniature – sculpted in Forge World resin – reflects her in-game prowess in the new Arcane Journal, and she’s a must-pick for any Troll-centric horde.” -about the Hag

Sounds like they have different profiles, the bonegrinder did in old fantasy so hoping it’s different. Could just be GW fishing for sales so I’m not ruling out what you’re saying.

I think the cutoff is something like "Any Brian Nelson orcs are in, no matter how old. Kev Adams orcs are out."

With the two week pre-order time, O&G hit the first weekend of April, so almost exactly three months after TOW went up. So "one army every three months" might be the schedule to expect from now on. Adepticon just might show off the Dwarf release.

Looking forward to spend a lot of money on these. Curious to see if the Bonegrinder will be cheaper than the big AoS giants. Similar for the Troll Hag - that AoS trollking is a great standin.

I love the idea of a troll list, but for the most part I absolutely destest almost everything Trish Carden has produced at gw. The hag is a prime example. I always thought her sculpts stood out like a sore thumb, especially during the latter days of warhammer, with the chimera being a main offender. I still can't believe it was released at the same time as the cockatrice!
I'll use my Trugg model. It's a bit busy, but I like it much better.

I also have a Warstomper Gargant or whatever it's called as my bonegrinder already. It may be a tiny bit smaller, but I absolutely love that model. I don't like the old bonegrinder. The head feels very off to me.

About the rest...I've got pretty much everything. I would like some more common goblins, but assembling the old plastic set did not leave pleasant memories.

I want the book and probably the black orc big boss, but as the book will probably be the only thing my LGS will be able to get, that will be it for me.

so we would look at end of next year for the initial core factions and anything after that (Cathay/Kislev, Armybooks, 2nd Edi) being early 2026

€130 for the Battalion seems an awful lot, until you split it into the 4 units making it €32.50 for each unit and even less if you can get them with discount. Not actually too far off what they were when first released.

Its still a little steep for what is 20-30 year old models, I'm sure in the grand scheme of things they are making a huge profit and massively overcharging. But whatever. I'll be happy enough to bulk buy wolf riders again and finally get the last couple of hundred I need to finally have Grom make his march on Ulthuan and play those big games I always wanted to do (but was too sensible to do).

That batallion seems horribly priced.

32.50 per regiment would be a nice deal for new models, not these aqeful old plastics that were released during the release of 6th edition!

I got the bretonnian starter for 200. That one also had old models, but the deal was great. It also included a new model and the rulebook.

This seems very meh.

130€ for 71 GW models, you won't get cheaper than that nowadays. Personally would have expected much more, but maybe because I like these Orks so much .

71 miniatures for 130 euro's is great for GW!
130 for 71 miniatures that were released around 2000 (three years earlier than the Bretonnians, which was a whole lot in the advancement of sculting techniques) is not.
I also find very little in the box to recommend to others: you can't play it out of the box as you get 0 characters (and don't tell me that you can build one out of a command sprue: they could've easily packed in the plastic orc commander but chose not to), there are no new models and there are no newer regiments like black orcs or boar boys to catch your eye. Exactly none of those models are fun to put together or paint. I painted and assembled a lot of those plastic orcs and goblins in my time and non of the time spent to do that would i call 'fun'. Those man-at-arms, bowmen and KOTR have a lot of character; these models have almost non of it.
I also wouldn't like normal goblins over night goblins in my starter box, as night goblins and their characters have a large nummer of cool upgrades and unlock some cool units like the mangler.

I love O&G passionately and even I think that this box would be just about the most miserable way to start the hobby. I have great difficulty trying to think of a less attractive starter set for an O&G army.

If it would've been a great deal, let's say 100 euro's, it might have passed as ok. Now it's just a massive 'meh'.
I love that warhammer is back; I've always continued to play 8th edition and never made the transition to AOS. I'm often one to give GW the benefit of the doubt, but this is just a crap deal.

I like the ogres. I might have to overcome my distaste for metal models and ludicrous prices. Then again I have yet to do so for Ushabti.

Bear in mind that Old World is a Forge World game now, unlike Fantasy of yore. There really shouldn't be a reason not to have old Fantasy units and Forge World units all in the same army list.

That doesn't have to mean anything for 40k which was, is and will remain mainline.
