The RPG content is for the Wasteland Warfare RPG - which was an early attempt to turn the wargame ruleset into a narrative RPG relying heavily on miniatures combat. The WW:RPG corebook is included in the bundle. As far as I know, the WW:RPG wasn't terribly popular as a ttrpg, but many people have used the character creation rules to kludge together their own wargame characters and narrative rules. I've been eyeballing using it for the same purpose.
The rpg content in this bundle is NOT for Modiphius's later-released Fallout RPG, a more traditional, narrative rpg using their house 2d20 system. The existence of two Modiphius Fallout rpgs can be confusing, so I thought I'd point that out.

Hopefully having two war-games concurrently that couldn't be more different won't also cause either to get poor support.
Trying to be positive though as a friend who picked up some Factions models at a big con said they're wonderful kits, and the rules for Factions look wonderful!

Poor editing has worked well for GW for several years. I honestly don't think it could be worse then that. The regular Fallout Wasteland game is super easy to pick up and play and doesn't require 50 books to play unlike GW games. The fact that it has an AI so you can play single player is also a fun aspect as a lot of time you might not be able to meet up with someone, so it still gives you your fix.

Which sourcebook was that? Haven't kept up on the 2d20 RPG but I did get Winter of Atom Campaing and it's really well done. The FWW: RPG really feels like the prototype FWW before a bunch of gack was cut for streamlining. I've been slowing reworking it with some people on the FWW discord trying to make it actually feel like a finished game as opposed to the Alpha version we got. I love the concept, isometric CRPG on the tabletop with actual tactical gameplay against AI, but it feels like it was just thrown out into the wild without much care.

Obviously you never heard of this GW project called Necromunda. In about a dozen books they still couldn't get the rules to make any sense and the people's online resource was better then anything in print. The fact that GW doesn't allegedly bother putting points costs in codex's is another reason why I know GW just uses codex's as a money grab.

So, it looks like the Wasteland Warfare content for the LA Heros pack was provided in the form of the Vault-Tec profile layout, without the usual cards.
So the caps, equipment, profile, etc is all provided on a half-page profile layout. This has the benefits of everything being in one place without having to keep track of a standard-size card and several mini-cards for the gear, but I didn't see any AI cards in the download pack.
Is there any word whether this might be the way going forward? Or is this a one-off way of providing the rules, due to time constraints and cost issues with printing and including such a small number of game cards for a box set that needed to release near the series?

As this is the only active discussion of FO on Dakka, and piggybacking off of the above post...
How does a returning player to Wasteland Warfare even find the cards from later waves? It seems that they no longer sell cards packs after a wave?
Also, what is the currently supported campaign system, if any? I'm very confused as there seems to be at least three official separate campaign/settlement systems for linking games.

We should be getting all the normal cards digitally the month they're released. Hollywood heroes official release is next month (they added the booklet since it was on sale at salute). We're assuming that includes AI cards as during the last livestream they made it sound like they were moving away from printed books and cards going forward and only releasing cards digitally the month the model comes out -- but we don't know what the new process entails fully.
Wave 9 was peppered with errors in the cards, more then really any wave I can remember, and the new team is wanting to improve on that by not having to do them in one big batch. Though we're not too sure on if that will happen as expected at first, as the Hollywood heroes profiles for FWW are full of errors for both Lucy and The Ghoul, but if digital at least they can updated them as needed.

There's a lot to sort through for sure. First off downloads page has pdfs of all the non-narrative cards ( AI, quests, events, and similar).

Cards packs haven't been discontinued as far as I've heard (they'd tell us in a blog post I'd expect) but they are made in China which right now takes several extra weeks to get to the UK/ EU via boat which is likely why so many things are not available (2 player starter included). The books, with cards, are printed in the UK last I heard and should be easily available (outside of NV which has been sold out in UK/ EU for over a year but there's hundreds in stock in Modiphius's NA store). The Wave 9 book did get a full digital release (including all narrative cards) and we're hoping they go back and release PDFs of older books.
There's also an app made by a 3d party. It has a 3$ a month sub (or around that price) and gives you access to everything but it generally takes Jamie a few weeks to update whenever there's new stuff. It can also help run basic scenarios but doesn't support any of the rules expansions I'll talk about below.
Also, what is the currently supported campaign system, if any? I'm very confused as there seems to be at least three official separate campaign/settlement systems for linking games.
there's 1 main campaign system called Settlement mode that's included in the starter box (campaign book). There's also a mini area campaign system included in wave 9 (it's like 2 pages but it's enough).
There are three rules expansion books: Into the Wasteland, Into the Vault, and Homestead. The first two are PvE only and for making random scenarios that are attrition based (much like an RPG) where you do several small fights as you progress vs one big map fight. Into the Wasteland is a hex crawler and can sort of do standalone campaigns but there's no rules for them -- just an example and you're expected to make your own however you want. Into the Vault turns the game into a dungeon crawler and there's no progression/campaign with it.
Homestead expands settlement mode adding in injury rules, settlement layout/maps and defending them. It can be used PvP or PvE.

I did start a thread specifically for Factions FWIW: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/812902.page though it's still a month+ away and I doubt there'll be more reveals until then.
Played a demo at UKGE which went over the basics and have read/watched plenty of what has been shown so far. Everything seems very solid; the Fatigue system feels really intuitive and adds a lot of moment to moment decision-making without seemingly slowing down proceedings. Definitely a more streamlined, combat focused experience to FO: WW (as it's intended to be). Mechanically I'd say it sits somewhere between Necromunda (unsurprisingly given who designed it) and WarCry. Might be some balance wrinkles that need ironing out; some loadout options are seemingly just inherently more useful than others for similar caps costs but hard to say if there's any actual issues without seeing the full picture with the campaign rules etc. Definitely looking forward to it.

Thanks guys - I hadn't appreciated that it wasn't available yet. I noticed a few UK stockists are stating 12th July, so hopefully not too far away now.
It's interesting as I really like Wasteland Warfare but it does require a fair investment of time and effort to get the most from. This looks like it will have a much faster 'pick up & play' element.
Perhaps almost like the transition from Rogue Trader to 2nd edition 40k

They also released "Vault Tec Simulator" a few weeks ago to not much fanfair which is basically a streamlined version of FWW (think Infinity Code One) but there's enough changes there that it's got to be a lead up to a 2nd edition of FWW.

Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest, not least because it's been pretty much acknowledged that's been in the works to a greater or lesser extent for some time. FO:Factions does probably help facilitate it as well as it allows WW to lean into the more narrative/exploration aspect of the game and not have to devote attention to a harder PvP focus. Personally, I wouldn't mind WW having a bit of streamlining enacted, not a wholesale re-design but maybe like 5% less faff. Some of the stuff around Battle Cry and Quick Actions 'work' but never felt immediately intuitive to me and lead to a lot of detail to keep track of. Plus the armour changes being fully folded into a refresh wouldn't hurt. You can sort of see that Call to Arms took that approach when adapting the WW ruleset for another franchise and, for me, is closer to the sweet spot of complexity and accessibility (though it's not without its own slight niggles of course).

The frustrating thing is they've been working on VTS for a while. The armor changes in wave 9 should have been introduce first in VTS and then been brought over to FWW in the 2.0 version they're clearly working on. It's caused so much confusion and hasn't been handled well from the rules all the way to the caps. I just had someone in discord today get upset that FWW didn't have armor rules anymore for Settlement Mode and not want to play because they didn't want to make up their own rules (including starting caps). The other thing that gets me frustrated with Modiphuis is the errata (and not just going 3 years between updates to it). All their other games get updated pdfs, FWW never has and there are rules for things like battlecry that actually make it usable in the errata (rewording of the actual rules) that have been there since around launch and never worked back into the rulebook. But the Fallout 2d20 gets updated PDFs multiple times a year. I know different groups but still. There's so many one sentence changes that really affect how the game plays (like swapping armor at the time you are hit and need to make an armor roll in the Errata vs setting active armor at the start of your turn in the core book). That would fix all the small issues the game has but it would a lot of them. Hollywood heroes were released with unplayable unit stats and no word on what they're supposed to be. VTS had a few icons missing and it got updated within a week. They really seam to not want people to buy their physical products as they've gotten very error prone since wave 8 and go months without addressing them as it feels like they're just focusing on "new" rules like VTS and Factions and leaving FWW full of problems as it's the "old stuff" the current team inherited and don't want to deal with (as a software engineer I understand that feeling but if you have paying customers you better make sure they stuff they buy is usable).

Moving to digital only probably makes sense from the production and development end if it also meant that the (inevitably) required errata gets enacted in a timely manner but personally I'm doubtful.
I pity all those new players who got on board off of the back of the Amazon series having to try and work through the maze of rules content. A Second Edition can't come soon enough tbh.

I read somewhere - maybe a post by Monkeysloth on reddit? - that starting with Wave 10 Modiphius aren't doing physical cards for FO:WW anymore.
Given that I just had to construct my own storage box for the hundreds of mini-sized cards I have for this game, I'm not sad to see the cards go. But I do think it means Modiphius should focus on getting a cleaner, less gew-gaw reliant second edition out sooner rather than later. (Clearly, I'm not alone in this opinion, here.)
I do love Fallout Wasteland Warfare, but it very much feels like I've been along for the ride while Modiphius learns how to design, produce, and distribute a wargame. I never thought I'd be asking for a new edition after my hatred of the GW it's-a-hidden-subscription model, but I'd love to see what Modiphius could do if they started over with what they know now. (And I don't think Factions is going to scratch that itch - I'm currently a bit stuck needing solo rules, and FO:WW, for all it's flaws, has some of the best enemy AI rules out there.)

ya that was my post. Does look like Modiphius is looking into print on demand now after some concern on Facebook. I think that's not a bad idea if there's something that can be worked out with drivethrough, Bethesda and Modiphius.

While I haven't play factions there's nothing I've see that would prevent one from using the FWW AI rules in factions as it's pretty easy to map over units between games and the starter/preview rules scenarios have pretty basic scenarios that the AI shouldn't have issue with.
