I don't know if this is a old or new rumor....

Gamestop and EBGames have started preordering video games for the coming PS3 console. Both retailers are preordering for $59.99 and have a shipping date of October 1st 2006 except for the long awaited Metal Gear Solid 4 who has a date of December 1st 2006.

This is very good news because it means that Sony has spoken to major retailers and announced an approximate release date of Fall 2006 for the PS3 in North America.

Indiana Jones is a good license, dunno about the game.

Other than that, Tekken is the only one on the list that interests me.

Looks like I'll hold off for awhile.

I-8 (Screen shots looked cool, so did video.)
Dirty Harry (A game with Harry, enough said.)
Indiana Jones (Good licence, hope the game does not suck)
Killzone 2 (Loved the first one, and the game teaser form E3 looks amazing.)
Vision Gran Turismo (Grand Turisom fan.)
Warhawk (Hope it's a remake of the original PS1 game. Quite fun.)

Tekken, well I have never been a big fighter game fan, as I suck at them, so hold no real interest to me.

I would love to see a new Resident Evil and Final Fantasy game for PS3 release. Though I am fed up with the GTA games. The new Medal of Honor: Airborne they are making for the system looks amazing too.

Which of the games on that list are rpgs?

Good question. I only see one or two titles that standout as RPGs. I have only ever gotten interested in the FF series and another one (name escapes me. Build, battle and lead a gropu of mecha like machines.)

As a FPS player, I hope the ones shown at E3 are decent. I-8 and Kilzone have my attention right now. I am going to do a quick google search to see what the other titles come up as.

While not a big Xbox fan Russ, I do give credit to some of the games on the system. I watched the first Halo played out and was quite impressed. The second was, well, blah :S . Hope the third installment will be better.

Onto the next batch of PS3 games I googled:

Indiana Jones Movie for 2007, nothing on the actual game. Sorry...

Metronome You record sounds to use to help you throughout the game...? That's the best description I can give
MotorStorm Appears to be a new Car combat game. Looks cool.
NioH Action/ Adventure about a blonde haired samurai. That's all I got. Looks to be, IMHO, to be a Kessen style game.

Possession action-RTS where you play a zombie looking to exact revenge on humans.
Project Delta tactical first-person shooter. Man vs. Alien blah blah blah....
