This is probably a simple question, but I'm a little confused.

Dozer Blade: "Vehicles equipped with dozer blades can reroll a failed difficult terrain test as long as they are not going to be moving more than 6" that turn." - Marines page 25.

But as far as I can tell, in the Marine list only Dreadnoughts, because they are walkers, take difficult terrain tests, and they can't take dozer blades. Also, how do you 'fail' a difficult terrain test?

The rule book says that infantry and walkers take difficult terrain tests. Other vehicles don't, but they do take dangerous terrain test when they pass through difficult terrain. Is this correct, or did I totally miss something? Do all non-skimmers take difficult terrain tests?

Is the dozer blade entry a misprint, should it read "Dangerous terrain tests" instead of "difficult"?

Please help!

It appears that is is a misprint. In the spirit of the RAW discussion however, the dozer blade is useless since (as you mentioned) vehicles do not take difficult terrain tests only dangerous terrain tests.

As a follow up question: How do most people treat the vehicle's movement in regards to how many dice are rolled? In other words, an ork trakk that moves 1", then hits dangerous terrain, moves through it, and continues to move further for a total movement distance of above 6." Would the origional test require 1D6 or 2D6? If the ork player only rolls 1D6 is he then bound to only move up to a max of 6"? Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm looking for usual method of playing, not just RAW.

Usual method of playing is to make him declare/measure the distance, then roll based on his intended distance. If he gets immobilized or crashes back him up to where he hit the terrain. Declaring beforehand is literally the only way to make this rule work, as you have discovered.

Thanks guys! Thats what I thought!

Does the wargear book fix the misprint? If it does I'll pick it up.
