Haven't posted in a while, been too lazy and lurked. But anyway, I'm picking up Oblivion in a couple of days and have read heaps of information on it, i just need to clarify one thing.

Would it be a waste for me to buy Oblivion if i do not choose a character with magic? I played Morrowind as a knight who just went around hacking people, no magic whatsoever.

I just wanted to know which race and class would be the "best" for Oblivion (if it could be defined) whihc one would let me see the most things and get me through what Oblivion is all about.

BTW, I've seen a couple of gamertags here and was wondering how you got yours, I've got a gold account but haven't been able to find my tag for the computer.

Howdy & Welcome to the club!

There is a lot to Character creation in Oblivion. You certainly don't need to cast magic to do well in the game. There is an excellent, free, online document that descirbes character creation VERY well:

The above document covers race also. "The best" race to choose really depends on your play style.

Gamer Tag:

To get your Gamer Tag card to populate, you need to link your live account to your X-box account. You can do that at www.Xbox.com and click on "My Xbox".

awesome, but i still can't get my gamertag to work. I've tried everything, is it because i've registered on a NZ xbox live website?

Oh and another question, I've already got 280 achievement points with PDZ, but when my month of free gold runs out, will I be able to continue and finally get my 1000 kill achievements? I'm really close and so is my free month and I don't want to have to buy a years subscription just to finish my achievements off.

According to X-box live MaCk LeEdLe is not a valid gamer tag. Are you sure that's your tag? (The name you use on X-box Live? The same as your 'Profile' name on your 360?)

Achievements: No worries, your achievements stay with your gamer tag, even without a gold account. You'll still have a silver account, that will track all that stuff.

Oh phew! I thought I was going to lose my precious Achievement points for a moment. Yeah, Mack Leedle is my gamertag, Caps and all, i've tried about 4 times now and it never comes up. Is it because I'm on the one months free subscription?

I don't think so...gamer tags work even for Silver accounts.

My guess is that you didn't put the %20 in for the space in your name.
