OK, so I have an idea for a theme for a thread. This could go one of two (possibly three) ways. We'll see.

The Internet has been around for a couple (or even three?) decades. In that time all sorts of people have used it. Some users were born funny, others became funny through their actions, and others still had funniness thrust upon them.

I'm specifically thinking about people posting on forums. Could be this one, could be one of the many others out there in the internet. I'm sure a lot of the funny threads have disappeared over time. However my Google skills have found one thread that is just as funny today as it was in 2005.

Before I give you the link, just to highlight that this thread contains some explicit uncensored language. By that I mean rude words, nothing particularly seedy or graphic. While we're (mostly) adults here I figured I might as well warn you. Also remember that this mild mannered cyclist (the creator of the thread and the source of the ensuing funniness) describes himself as "easy to get along with".

So here's the link: http://www.megalomaniac.com/~andrew/funny/lonely_planet_flame.pdf

I'm sure I'm not the only one who discovered this thread back in 2005, it was quite the internet sensation if I remember correctly. A trip down memory lane for some of you perhaps.

So in order for this thread not to be too specific feel free to post links to other threads. Any that have survived the passage of time at least.

Ugh. That thing was five pages of hilarity and fifty pages of suck.

You read it all?? If so I'm impressed.

The funny bit is the OP's responses. He quits the thread quite early on though, so once he stops posting it becomes a bit pointless.

Yeah, I kept hoping he'd come back and vomit up more hilarity, but I was sadly disappointed.
