I need to watch part 2 of the new John Adams miniseries again to get the exact wording.

Adams asks Thomas Jefferson about his opinion of Britain, and Jefferson says he "would lend my hand to sink the whole Island in the ocean". Which is actually a quote from one of his letters (to John Randolph in 1775).
