Anyone else hoping for updated Black Orcs? Pretty confident they’re the oldest Orc kit left in production.

The kit itself isn’t all that great, and they do look somewhat out of place due to the smoothness of their rumour.

Aka 'Ardboyz? Tbh, i kinda like them just because their armour just looks more... purpose-built, compared to other Ironjawz that just their armour just kinda roughly hammered into vaguely the shape it should be.

Given the choice between new Ardboyz and something new I can live with the current Ardboyz they look a lot better with unarmoured Brute heads and few spare Brute weapons and bits here and there. The Underworlds warband kept the overall look of the armour and just dropped the goofy helmets.

I'm not surprised in what we saw in terms of the armies covered. Indeed its fully what I expected - more units for both of the core armies in Dominus along with Battletomes for both. Anything else would have been a nice extra ,but I fully expect both those forces to dominate for the next month or two. After that I'd expect a 40K swingback and then a swing back to AoS with new Tomes for further armies.

Since they don't go on pre-order until August, it looks like July might be a 40K month.

Personally I'm fine with Ardboyz as they are, though I'd be cool with seeing more variants of them, especially in terms of heroes. I'd also like for Brutes to feel more like an elite unit instead of them directly competing against Ardboyz when it comes to their statlines.

I would rather have new stuff for savage orcs.

That too, their range has definitely been languishing for a while now.

Savage Orcs are relatively recent. Pretty confident they came out during 8th Ed?

With the exception of the 'giant crawling naked ferengi', all those new models looked really good.

I'm looking forward to getting many of them. And good on GW for answering my earlier questions on a Stormcast and Orruk battletome. :-)

Currently most played: Silent Death, Mars Code Aurora, Battletech and currently trying Warcrow and Infinity.

I would love a new Ard Boyz kit. Don’t care for how the current one doesn’t match the other Ironjaws’ less refined armor.

I’m hoping the kruleboyz have a bit more to come because I’m pretty disappointed with them at the moment as there doesn’t much variety in army composition. One battleline isn’t enough, some archers would be good.

They’ve already got about as much as Ironjaws and Savage Orcs combined.

I wasn’t expecting them to be just another flavour of Orc.

But looking at the wider War Clans, they’ve got more units than their contemporaries.

That's covered in the fluff. From page 31 of the Orruk Warclans battletome:

Though they are terrifyingly strong, Ardboys are not able to batter metal into shape with their fists as easily as Brutes. Because of this, they must scavenge or forge their own equipment – or bully others into doing it for them – a fact that accounts for the somewhat eclectic mixture of weapons found in their mobs

Liking most of the new orruks. Not sold on the bucket helmets and some of the short legs. Not always a problem just more obvious occasionally. Probably won’t be a problem once lined upon a table. But overall a very sinister army
I would love to see standard boar boyz back. Those are some great sculpts.

Meanwhile the bucket helmets are my favourite part, I hope (but doubt) there will be enough in each box for the whole squad

I hope the Kruleboyz can be run reasonably on their own. The other warclan units will look bizarre to me mixed with these. I think the Kruleboyz would look better mixed with gloom spite if going for a broader army.

Stupidly excited for the new stormcast units.

I collect:

Grand alliance death (whole alliance)

Stormcast eternals

Slaves to Darkness - currently Nurgle but may expand to undivided.

Really cool models, especially the kruel boyz. Just a bit sad that orc gorillas seems to be going the way of the dodo. Call me weird, but I would have liked the kb a lot more if they were something else than orcs

I do kind of wish there was more separation between this release and the 40k orks.

Having both basically back to back is a bit too much green at once- it actually made me pick one or the other. (And I also think that Orks are going to be an unbalanced mess of uneven point costs)

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Well I am opposite, I don't mind the heads but I really would want to swap shields.

Yeah that's what a normal GW release is. Not even exaggerating, sadly.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

Went to the Warhammer store today as I decided that I wanted to try and get a box afterall. Was pleasantly surprised to see that while stock was plentiful, a large portion of it had sold.

The box quality is great, the two armies look even better in person. I'm looking forward to sitting down this weekend and building everything, seeing how it all comes out. Loving the new orks, and I was quite excited to hear that the books are coming soon.

That preview has been pretty unexciting to me. I had hoped for something interesting for Sigmarines. Maybe next time.

I'm a little confused by the SCE Archer unit we saw in that preview - how come so many are looking to stab their enemies, rather than shoot them?

Stop this please your making a better job than GW at tempting me to get these orcs.

They look so much better!

You know what they say. Pics or it didn't happen.

Yeah, I know, no point rehashing models they've already shown. I had still hoped for more. Now don't get me wrong, if GW is intent on primarisizing Sigmarines after only six years I can appreciate getting the core choices done and out of the way. Nothing wrong with the infantry per se (except for the fatboys, I really don't like those), but so far the new style Sigmarines don't have an eye-catching big or centerpiece unit. Just loads and loads of infantry. Bit dull making an army of just that.

I wonder if they ever meant to show the new starter sets in this preview but held off because they still have Dominion boxes left to sell through before they want to advertise the followup product. Been interested in those.

They fell for elven propaganda and don't have faith that one-string bows can work.
